Hi, problem. Soundflower seems to install on my MacBook Air (10.7.2) and the icon appears in the finder toolbar once I launch it, but the drop down box says 'not installed!!!' and garageband doesn't recognize it. Any ideas why?

It worked for me, thanks! I really need it 'cause I take interviews more and more often through Skype. And if there are free programs for windows, somehow there aren't any free ones for Skype. I wonder why doesn't the Skype team simply make an built-in recorder?

For those of you who say you can't find 2ch sunflower, check if sunflower really IS installed. It could be only sunflowerbed. Whatever it is...

Sir, U said to do following settings.

GarageBand:

Audio output: Built in Audio

Audio Input: Soundflower (2ch)

yet I am facing problem. In garageband settings to change the settings of Audio Input I am getting only an option of built-in-input & I cant see the option of Soundflower 2ch.

I have downloaded soundflower & hv installed it as per your instructions sir,

In the same manner I cant even see soundflower in skype as well.

The Soundflower Folder Sais You Cant Open It , To Fix This Right Ctrl Click/Right Click The Folder And Get click get info unlock the padlock at the bottom if not already done so then change where it sais everyone in permissions to read and write and it will aloow you into the folder

I was not able to do what you say at 04:14, because Soundflower did *not* create a menu item or any other way (that I find) to make adjustments. But, things worked well anyway.

I can't change the settings in skype to align with your instructions and now i have no audio out when i make a call...

in the prefs under audio /video there's only the field choices:

Microphone...

Speaker...

Ringering..

Camera...

nothting for input/output

any suggestions?

I followed this tutorial but my friends in the call get an echo of their own voices and the recording doesn't have my voice in it :/

This just may be the first time I've commented on a Youtube video . . . just wanted to say thanks to the SupremeApps guy for giving a clear tutorial on this. I've seen three or four different places trying to explain how to use Soundflower and Linein to record Skype on Garageband and it never worked. Maybe it was just having the visual or something, but following your tutorial it finally worked! We'll give you a shout-out on our podcast (which we can finally record in Skype!)

I have just followed your instructions (I have a G5 on OSX 10.4.11 using GB 3) and it worked (with a little bit of fiddling about.) I assume you're on a later version? But I followed your instructions and I could make it work. I've gotta say I have been a Macophile probably before you were born...and I've just got to commend you for what you've done. Keep it up!

Umm, I tried this out and it wouldn't work for me as in I couldn't hear the other end of the call, but it would record everything in Garage Band just fine, but when I try and change some settings around so that I could hear the Skype call, it wouldn't record in Garage Band. Help? D:

Please can you help, this works fine, except I can hear my voice echo when recording, and it puts me off when i'm speaking, is there a way to get rid of the echo whilst recording in LineIn?

@LopaskiOneHD there is no way to get rid of the echo when recording while using this method, but the echo goes away when the recording is done.
