Beating citizens who've been arrested destroys stability; it makes citizens overly afraid of government, and endangers the lives of future police because citizens will be too afraid of capture, and will do anything to avoid it, if they know they could be beaten to death.

I think a big part of the problem is "follow the leader", the Chinese answered feudalism with socialism, Marx would be pissed. Classically Confucianism dictates that people follow their betters. The socialist model has been corrupted by this ingrained ideology. So it's very hard for the Chinese to break away from what they are told. wow you guys are all SO racist. I lived in China it is full of lovely people. However when it comes to some events it is clear that the chinese are told a different story from the REST OF THE WORLD. It was hard as I feel you can not judge people on how they are educated. As for hookers you have gotta be totally crazy if you have been to China and don't think that they have hookers! BATHHOUSE DUDE, DIRTY CURTAIN SHOPS, CHICKEN STREET! China is no better than any other country in that sense .
