In spite of my assessment of Rick Warren as a pastor who doesn't always teach according to the bible, I have to give him credit here in not giving in to political and social presssures from the homosexual community and in holding his position that homosexuality is wrong. Being a minister of God, he should have added in the fact that God has already said in His word, the bible, that it is a sin. God has already spoken & there is nothing else the homosexual community can do to change His mind.

Crocroduck: Honestly, this was a really shitty video and I'm pretty sure you're aware of that now. You never once addressed anything he actually said, you just insulted him which shows that you can't logically refute his arguments, either because you're too lazy to or you let yourself get so pissed about what he was saying that you just said "You're a dumbass" and felt like that was enough. You cannot deny the fact the Rick Warren has changed people's lives in a good way. Let me tell you that Warren DOES NOT hate gays, he just hates their homosexual actions. If you haven't noticed, Rick centers himself on the Bible. Yet more specifically he bases his preaching around the person of Jesus. Who was Jesus? The main character of the Gospel. And let me just say, Jesus only loved and never hated-who can deny a love like that? Jesus never hated gays, he just despised their actions.

It's like saying "I love all of you except the part of you that is gay". And that's all of them, so really, you don't love them at all. You love what you want them to be, and deny their actual identity.

In spite of my assessment of Rick Warren as a pastor who doesn't always teach according to the bible, I have to give him credit here in not giving in to political and social presssures from the homosexual community and in holding his position that homosexuality is wrong. Being a minister of God, he should have added in the fact that God has already said in His word, the bible, that it is a sin. God has already spoken & there is nothing else the homosexual community can do to change His mind.

And there are many who would argue that there were gay people in the Bible (ex. David and Jonathan) but because homosexuality was viewed as an act outside of monogamous relationships (see my previous post) they wouldn't have been called 'homosexuals' but companions, friends, etc.

The bible is consistent in that even in the old testament, in Leviticus 18:22, Moses was told by God Himself that homosexuality, defined as a man lying down with another man, is sin and an abomination to God. Nowhere in the bible does it say homosexuality is only a sin when it is outside a monogamous relationship. That is your own understanding, not what the bible teaches.

Problem is that he knows he can't use that argument because not everyone believes in the bible, and everyone who does believe in it has different interpretations. All I'm trying to say is he's trying to find a non-religious reason to justify his hate on homosexuals. Also, jesus never existed and if he did, he was probably homosexual. Hope that clears it up!

Rick could very easily use the bible to demonstrate that homosexuality is a sin and that it is part of the nature of the flesh, as opposed to the nature of the spirit of God.
