  • Sleep upon my shoulder as we creep across the sand so I may keep the memory of our caravan. .

  • the king....... bring on the camels.>! yeah

  • My high school's marching Band is playing an alternate version of this song!

  • futch, its the after midnight version, what the hell is also on this Kine?

  • for my new guy who digs this song....

  • Leave it to Nat "King" Cole to take a Duke Ellington classic and give it a timeless appeal. It's one master expressing another.

  • Definitely one of my favorite versions of Caravan.

  • How is this not in fallout.

  • Una Joya de Juan Tizol,Bongological

  • When I heard this song on my mp3 player, I started laughing like crazy in a bus. It reminded of me the scene in Ocean's 11, the music was the same

  • First time for me to listen it with Nat Cole. So great. In fact, none of Nat Cole performances disappointed me...

  • Only a word for this song: HYPNOTIC! Thanks.

  • This music was played in the movie 'Ocean's 13'

  • So ELEGANT performance:-)..Very GRATEFUL for sharing:-)

  • Because unlike other instruments, the trombone's notes are articuated with a sliding device which allows it to play between notes which makes it perfect.

I guess a string instrument without frets would also be considered perfect

  • Its called a valve trombone...It sounds like a trombone but it can't play quarter tones like a slide trombone which could be considered the world's only perfect instrument.

  • why is ti considered the world's only perfect instrument?

  • thanks....

  • who was the first who did this song..??? nat king cole..??? who is the original singer or composer?

  • the orgininal is from Duke Ellington

  • Not only by Duke ellington... It was written by Juan Tizol, and i think in coop. with Mills Brothers and Duke.

  • @zamamattiolo The author is Juan Tizol from Puerto Rico.Healso was the copyist of Ellington for many years.

  • what kind of trombone is that, with valves?

  • A Valve Trumbone ,Einstien

  • IMHO best instrument is a Slide trombone..

  • Eso Papa! He sang in Spanish too, really Smooth

  • Excelente!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Get a trombone and play this song, you'll love yourself.

  • I love it!

    Thank you for posting this.

  • A really col version. If ya wanna jazz it up a bit, check out Brain Setzer's Ellington style instrumental version of this song... That's WHY i'm a Brian Setzer fan since he emerged in 1981 (to me).

    Mikey xx

  • Honestly i think the setzer version is inferior to the peterson version

  • great!

  • Great percussion though.

  • This is nice, but kind of meh.

  • keep in mind it was more mainstream for tv.

  • this was on the Ocean's Movies!

  • The cool thing about music back in the day was that were many different versions of the hits by some incredible artists.

  • I like both Costanza and Cole, but never knew that they played together on anything. Thanks!

  • Those two statements seem to contradict one another. If you think this sucks, then what exactly do you "adore" about Nat?

  • Sucks is a bit stong.... I think u meant

"I adore nat and this is incredible"..

Come on .. lets assume that there is some thing u didnt not like about this... If i take u at face value. ITS STILL the DUKE's CARAVAN!!! AND BY NAT!

  • I love Nat king Cole... <3

  • Erroll Garner's version of this song kicks it!!

  • Well, it may be as you say, but Erroll himself was a Nat`s fan. Try to listen to Nat just playing the piano and you`ll understand why. (I love Erroll too)

  • What about Juan Tizol?!? Ya' got CaptainFluffyMcFluff givin credit to the bongo player, and everyone else blabbin about Nat King.

Juan Tizol (trombonist) wrote the whole song in the first place!

  • AND MY FAV. PERDIDO!!!

  • Mr. Cole does. It is unnecessary to add to Mr. Cole's words.

He does a good job playing his own song, but that's only because Mr. Tizol does a good job at every song. He was a good trombone man.

  • Duke Ellington

  • Valaida Snow did a superb version in 1939. You can hear it on you tube.

  • Fantastic job by Nat King Cole. He is the first vocalist I ever heard do this song and I have never heard another since.

  • Yes, Nat did a great job on this song, but check out Bobby Darin's version of "Caravan" sometime... it's even better. (and I'm a big fan of BOTH Nat and Bobby)

  • Ahhh, so wonderful.

  • Mr Bongo Jack Contanzo

  • Although the split screen was primtive and the shot of the control board really showed nothing it was awesome as usual from Nat.

  • Hi,

What is the title for the music itself? Is it also called "caravan"?

    Thanks a lot in advance!

  • I love Nat king Cole... Great talent!

  • i've read the lyrics for this song, but i've never actually heard them sung. nice vid.

  • That bongo player rocks the socks
