  • I have not liked VW's since 1993. They are bulbous and look like a "car". The 1992 GTI was gorgeous, understated yet aggressive. The Recaros, manual windows, lighter weight, 16v engine... I will never sell my 92 16 valver. Especially not for one of these Cadillac cars.

  • Ah I want one!!! I personally like it but seems like you could get more bang for your buck with something else.

  • i want one so baddddddd.

  • I love the MKIV R32. there's a good reason why the MKIV is now hard to find, and the MKV was just sitting on the lot, and that's cause the styling was clearly better on the MKIV (no Jetta grill) and the reliability was less questionable (no DSG with it's ridiculous mechatronics unit failures, $3k will be more than enough for a total rebuild of the aisin auto in the cc vr6 4motion I'm driving.)

  • i love the stock rims

  • i hate the look of the new model

  • If you watch from 1:58, it looks like he's fondling the shifter and right before the thumnail goes off the screen it looks like he starts really jerkin it at 2:01! lmfao.

  • you must be on drugs if u sell an s2000 for a golf what a fall off !

  • @77chatHAM I would too, don't get me wrong S200 is a nice ride, and pretty quick, but you can DO sooooo much more in the Golf. And TO the Golf. Pretty sure it'd be hard to put a badass pair of subs in a little convertible...besides this car has 100lb.ft. more than the S2000. It's not all about hp, contrary to Japanese beliefs...

  • @yellowmusicfreak Absolutley not! First hand I had a 2001 S2000 I had my encounters with these R32's at the time I didn't kow much about them and thought nothing of him. So when the lights turned green he took off like a bastard, so I went at it and basically walked him. Honda has so much engineering behind them that MOD for MOD the S2000 would make more power than a R32, not to mention the price and quality of the parts for the S2000. VW's technology/ craftsmanship is far behind the Japanese!

  • @yellowmusicfreak And yes it is all about HP when you have a car that weighs 2800lbs. TQ is used to move weight, if you have no weight and an engine that revs like a motorcycle, massive TQ is not needed.

  • i own an mk4 r32, its worth every penny. its the most fun best car ive ever had, any repair cost is overtaken by the love i have for this car. go jap if you want speed without class........or amazing sound

  • the sounds like the price is right lmfao.

  • R32 or s2000?

  • @MugenDB2 lol those are exactly the 2 cars im looking at right now

  • @MugenDB2 r32 bc of AWD =)

  • @MugenDB2 R32. You couldn't pay me to drive a Japanese car.

  • @Staticclism an S2000 would walk all over an R32, with only a 4 cylinder. The R32 has already been forgotten.

  • @KoukiMS6 yeah the r32 is not forgotten..your jap POS will be

  • @doomsdayinc87 Speak to any enthusiast about cars in general and I guarantee he won't mention a R32.

  • @KoukiMS6 it may stock, but i have a 2000 s2000 and im looking at selling it for a 2004 r32. I love it. dont get me wrong, i absolutely love my s too, but the r32 has so much tuning potential with the 4motion, plus if you consider anything at all other than performance the r32 has the s beat in every way.

  • @KoukiMS6 Forgotten only because the Golf R replaced it this year with 265hp...oh and it's a 4-cyl TOO!!! When was the last time you saw an S2000 driving around? Mazda laughed at it and sold 100 times more Miatas. VW's been building sport compacts long before honda decided to copy them. if Honda made one truly ORIGINAL car, I'd be in shock. Tried it with the NSX...fail. Tried it with the Ridgeline...fail. Hell they even copied their bedbuddy Toyota's Corolla. Still got outsold.

  • @yellowmusicfreak What are you talking about exactly? Check your history on the Honda Civic and Accord, or the Honda S600. These cars have been out since the 60's with the very first Golf coming out in 1983, over 20 years after the first Honda compact sports car came out;are you serious? VW is new to the game, relatively. Toyota had the 2000GT in 1969, Nissan had the Skyline and 240Z killing through the 70's. Where was VW? No where. Audi got in the game in the 80's with the Quattro--late.

  • @yellowmusicfreak Oh, and the last R32 I saw was last month, I see an S2000 at least a few times per week.

  • VW should bring the new R32 with a 6 spd tranny. Im getting an 04 to make sure I get a 6spd.

  • Holy Fuck, $29,000?!?! There like £21,000 Second Hand Here!!

  • that was in 04 though. the price has dropped now.

  • I drive a 2004 R32 and will never buy an 08, no clutch, and transmission is not rated for more than 260hp, meaning if your going to upgrade, either you are going to go through trannys or have a custom one made for an arm an a leg

  • Not true, haldex is very strong, as well as the 6sp box thats matted to it. Look up 500hp+ R32s everywhere.

  • Oh just saw you said 08 models, yea DSG wasn't meant to handle power, all that quick clutch action does not like high torque numbers. Why didn't VW put the 3.6 from the passat in the 08 r32? r36? It essentially the same car, and with GTIs being just as fast what can you say?

  • @whatha20 Well, concerning the DSG, they claim it's the same thing used in the Veyron. To say it can't handle torque is a bit of a stretch. Granted, it's probably a super-beefed-up version. I wish VW would build a compact, lightweight, mid-engine, RWD/AWD roadster with the GTI or Golf R's engine...or even a 3.6 or 2.5 Audi TTRS turbo mill as an optional engine. I'd give my left nut for something like that with 260+hp, that handled and drove like a mini-Lambo.

  • Great car, infuriating presenter! I wish he would have shut up and let us hear more of the VR6.

It is a shame how heavy the car is, but at least the 2004 came with a real gearbox.

  • why des the video quality seem like its 1980's?

  • my dream car. love at first sound.

  • Performance wise this one is better than than the new R32. But the new one looks better =(

  • Are you nuts??? You think the new one looks better than this one? The new one looks just like a regular GTI with twin exhausts

  • And this one didnt look like the GTI of its day????Righhtttt. But the new has more curves and more aggresive headlights. PERIOD!

  • Alright well I'm sorry you fell that way, I just think that the Mk4 has alot of features that set it apart from a: Golf, 1.8t Gti, or vr6 Gti. In many ways the MK5 isn't that drastic in the appearance category; but in the end it truly depends on what you prefer. Although, a Lot of MK5 owners bought one simply because they wanted a new car and didn't want a used model.

  • True. Every One has there prefrence as they should. But i think theres also some core principles that makes a good car.

  • @cannedtuna

Agreed, the first gen R32 has much more character and is more fun to drive!

  • @cannedtuna If you cant tell the difference between a GTI & R32, you need your eyes checked...

  • @cannedtuna Totally agreed with you man, I own one and there is no way in hell I would trade it for a new R32, besides the looks the new R32's aren't sticks, they're all automatics.
