Its very easy to do stunts when your high flying,but when you at low alttitude its a lot harder. Reason is when high its as if your in slow motion,but when low this vd shows the reasons why.

@HaroldWillett ask a pilot before you make a statement like that. low altitude means lower pressure altitude and lower density altitude which results in better engine performance and thicker air for better responsiveness. yes there is the perception of things happening quicker with ground rushing by but so what is what a pilot will say. focus is on flying the aircraft and not letting it fly you while you say wow look at the scenery blow past!

@sksakm14 Not true. F-16s CAN fly supersonic with external wing tanks without damaging the structural integrity of the airframe. What they CANNOT do, is any maneuvers that exceed 9 G's. Flying 700+ MPH going straight is one thing...flying 700+ MPH while banking is quite another...

JM: Yes yes, of course. I'm talking about in areas where it is legal to do so. Military ranges. We see plenty of military videos, why not any were the aircraft is actually going super-sonic. Either out over the ocean or at places like the Nellis Nevada military range. I've flown through there as a ride along in a military aircraft, just not a supersonic one.

@zevrix that is not true, pilots often exceed mach 1, they just dont do it low and close to populated areas. i live in Switzerland, and the swiss air force is very rigorous on those things, but we often hear sonic booms and see low flying f-18s, seems that there is more monkeybusiness here, than in some other less strict airforce. The only worldwide airspeed* restriction is the 'max 250 knots, below 15 000" used in civil aviation.

Sorry, it is awesome, but a lot of learning on the ground when your not flying. We're in the class rooms a lot. We don't fly all the time. When it is not your time to fly, we're doing a lot of other things you might find to be work...callsign OSPREY. Although it is very rewarding! It's worth it.
