good idea, but i didnt find it funny and "kinda creepy how they go together like that" they dont go together :P but as i said awesome idea, andplease try again :D
Dave is far from dorothy.Hes crude, disgusting, far from innocent. Also holly has an IQ of 6, whereas the wizard can grant wishes. Th kyrten bit is pretty close though. The cat didnt pretend to be brave, he was who he was at face value. The lion was trying to become greater and freely joined the gang to the emerald city. The cat doesnt care, just likes shiny things.Further,Rimmer is more of a coward than cat is,but the scarecrow wanted to improve himself and helped people.Rimmer just wants power
I'd actually say Rimmer is the cowardly lion since he is... well... a coward. Cat seems to be more suited to the scarecrow as they both have no brain. (And when I say that I'm not disrespecting the actor. I mearly mean the character is a little unintelligent.)
You guys are thinking too literally...I simply meant that they all fit into those general archtype characters...themeatically speaking--the Wizard of Oz and Red Dwarf are the same--both are about a human in an alien world trying to get home...
Dave is Dorthy because of his Humanity
Kryten is the Tin Man because of his mechanical-ness
The Cat is the Lion because of his Feline-ness
Rimmer is the Scarecrow because of the relative instability of his body...
Sorry Dude but you've got to see your clutching at straws or did i miss the bit where she fought the Vindaloo beast or was that in one of the thirteen sequels storys writen by L. Frank Baum that never got past the front door.
I don't think it's meant to be a conversation between Rimmer and The Doctor. I think the dude who posted this video is trying to prove that a lot of stuff from recent Doctor Who is "borrowed" from Red Dwarf.

So sorry about this but I think the beginning credits actually work better than the actual speaking bit.

Unfortunate disparity in volume between the two clips, spoils it a bit.

I agree. It was rather rushed. Hopefully I'll have some more of these with the new series of Doctor Who starting soon.

What Red Dwarf Fans fail to mention is that Red Dwarf was stolen from the Wizard of OZ:
Dorothy=Dave Lister
Cowardly Lion=The Cat
The Tin Woodsman=Kryten
The Scarecrow=Rimmer
The Wizard=Holly

You do make a point...however, I just do not see the connection between Rimmer and the scarecrow.
Sure BOTH need a "brain", but at least the scarecrow is nice to Dorothy.
I cannot imagine a Wizard of Oz with the crew of Red Dwarf without laughing hysterically.
Anyway, excellent video, sir!

I don't think it's meant to be a conversation between Rimmer and The Doctor either. Its just a joke, nothing more.

Yea, that was just an idea I had while I was putting it together, the two parts just happen to be at the right time.
