@GTAstuntking you know that this clip was made in 2008 right ? and that was a Phenom I processor ... compare a Phenom II X4 955 + ATI HD 6990 with Intel Core i7 (not the Extreme version!) + Nvidia GTX 560 .... there is visualy no difference , only in benchmarks the intel system is faster because of the i7 (ATI > Nvidia) ....
so why should I pay lots of money for a system like that ?
or you can take a Black Edition Phenom II and OC it , AMD overclock much better than Intel does
@SCBbestof I have an Phenom II 945 and an ATI 6850.
I don't like to pay too many for my hardware too.
And i love the OC capabilities of the Phenom processor mine can do 3,6 GHZ whit out rising the voltage and can easy hit above 4 ghz whit only a small amount more voltage.
My experience is that when it comes to gaming the differences are small between amd and intel stuff like winrar are faster on the intel i7. But when it comes to price vs performance AMD win's by far.
@GTAstuntking If you notice really close.... that the screen for the AMD is zoomed in closer so that is why it looks flat.. If you stop it at 0.34 you will notice that the ship to the bottom right is positioned differently that the intel.
If bulldozer offered similar performance to an i5 2nd gen in games it would still be good but an i3 2nd gen beats the pants out of it in games that just flatout sucks!

i've used both AMD and Intel... whatcan I say... for a gamer... AMD is the way to go, for a professional person who needs a workstation and money isn't a problem, then Nvidia+Intel work fantastic... I say it form experience.
@luciferiexcelsil Wrong Intel CPU's are better for games than AMD's. Get a Core i3 2100 for 99$ and that'd beat all AMD CPU's in games, up it up to a Core i7 2600/k or a Core i5 2500/k and dominate AMD even further, you know nothing.
@iGarthi Not true, plus you guide yourself on benchmarks which usually don't really resemble a real life situation. Overall, a AMD platform is cheaper than an intel(CPU+MB+GPU) and the difference between performance is not noticeable to the eye.
@luciferiexcelsil Depends on which system you'd like to get, as I said the Intel Core i3 2100 CPU sales for $99, and that offers better performance than any AMD CPU to date. As far as gaming wise, it will boost the fps for those with lower end systems, and humans can discern the difference between lower and higher framerates(60/30), and this CPU will help prevent the bottleneck that AMD processors limit you to.
@iGarthi Lol, 60/30? what an exaggeration, the difference isn't usually more than 5fps in most games. And that is in the x6 vs i5/i7 platforms. in i3 vs x3/x4 platforms AMD takes the lead. And the 2100 is around 130$ on most websites, so I don't know what you are talking about. At that price range you can get the AMD phenom II 960t that outperforms it hugely on gaming and about anything else. Plus the L1556 Socket MB's are about 20$ more expensive than their AM3 counterpart.
@luciferiexcelsil At a store called Microcenter in Columbus, Ohio, the Core i3 2100 is 99$, Core i5 2400 is 149$, Online? Everyone has access to online sites so whether it's just one site that has it on sale for 99$ isn't relevant. The difference between the i3 2100 and the AMD Phenom 980BE is miniscule, with the Core i3 beating it in almost every benchmark. The Phenom Series is no match for the 2nd generation core I Processors, let alone X6 which underscores the 980BE. Get out of here.
@iGarthi Prices? You base yourself on "Microcenter" solely. I based my prices on Tigerdirect, Newegg and Amazon, the most common sites for people to buy their parts. A i3 2100 is close to the 130 range, period. and yes 'on sale' is irrelevant because it is not a true example of what the product's price range. If the product stayed on that range for a long time, until its discontinuation from the market, then it would be relevant!
seems intel is always leading the market and have the products geared towards the future...amd seems to capitalize on those advancements later and sell them to an audience looking for obsolete yet completely usable technology...believe me..i still use a 939 socket AMD64 bit rig with a 7800gt, since 2005! BAHAHHA.....I am udgrading to an i7 platform with a gtx580 for pure cutting edge bliss. Oh and a nice 3D monitor as well. Muahahhahahah!
@Bladeworkssystems At the moment but that is unfair to say as a generic statement. AMD was better than Intel with the Athlons and before, but they started to slack after the Phenom's which are competition for the Pentium series not i7s... Bulldozer is competition to Sandy Bridge. I am not a fanboy, I just like whatever company will give quality for a good price which used to be Intel until AMD release bulldozer.
@ContinentalHeretic athlons actually caught fire. as in, flames. anyone saying they were ever "better" gets a lol out of me.
as for speed, there were a few times where athons were faster than pentiums, but that's only because they were the newest generation compared with a previous generation of pentium. when comparing generation to generation, intel has always been faster and more expensive. it's the same with Nvidia vs ATI. Believe me, if AMD *could* charge more, they would.
@mhaneline Those were the old athlons. You still do have a point though, but it is unfair to say that with Nvidia vs ATI. They are equally priced and equally matched, they just excel in different areas.
fuck intel. I currently play minecraft at 10-15 fps with an Intel Extreme graphics controller 84246G. But im getting a new quad core i7 3.34Ghz and top of with something from the GeForce series. But which is truly better. NVIDIA GeForce or ATI Radeon?????
AMD is for the gamer that pays for his system rather then the 12 year old who's dad is a lawyer. I highly recommend AMD to anyone who wants a powerful, good quality processor for an affordable price
Intels high end processors are better then anything AMD has. But you dont need that extra performance to play games so if your a gamer AMD is a better choice. Only people who are benching for the absolute highest FPS will be better with Intel
For people saying AMD is better then Intel...Yeah right.....I always hated amd and its crapness...CALL ME A INTEL FAN BOY BECAUSE YES I LOVE INTEL BETTER!
@HuskySapphire that doesnt make any sense... there are different variations of amd phenoms such as a dual, tripple, quad, and six core processors. just make sure the one you are looking at is the one you want to buy.
haha, intel system, yeah the qx is that price. @ stock, the video looks the same, but how about oc? oh yeah, it gets dominated by it. lets see figures please.
People the i7 may (be) better in performance but why get the i7 if the games dont require that much i mean AMD processors are cheap and quite strong they are more then good enough to play games by the time your AMD processor gets old you can buy a newer processor that wil be cheaper then the intels expencive processors
I like my 1090T Thuban it does the job and it costed me 170 euro :p
I don't get why they used a console port as an example? That game barely uses one core because it's on the UnrealEngine3 and it's optimized for the Xbox360 which has NO place in front of the rigs they tested... Talk about marketing huh?
Not true intel is the best processor for gaming at this time is expensive bec it gives most of out all games on the market rather half of amd.In the video i think they put the quality to medium at amd pc
@darkhunt6 No you are talking bullshit. AMD blows intel away if you buy processors which cost the same from both companies.
AMD Phenom II X6 1100T / 3.3 GHz is €158,39
Intel Core i5 2400 / 3.1 GHz is €153,05
The Phenom is capable of overclocking 3 of its 6 cores when not all 6 cores are used. it will over clock the 3 cores for 50% more performance. (on those 3 cores 50% less performance on the other 3, You won't use more then 3 cores for gaming anyway)
@kjevo i ask you a question like intel are those 6 cores 6?no i don't think so amd puts them cheaper but it has and low performance than intel, those from intel make the processors to the maximum capability and thats why intel is dominating the processor market.Few people will go with amd processor
@darkhunt6 the reason why i disagree with kjevo is that I'm an AMD user atm, and it is true that Intel kicks AMD's ass. But the price value for those processors are outstanding and are enough to play any game out there at 60fps+
On that easy to run benchmark, yes. The point is the AMD system would be getting 60 fps and the Intel system would get about 80fps. Obviously there's no difference in visual quality there however step it up to a game like Crysis or Metro 2033. The you'd notice with an AMD system getting 25fps with the Intel system getting 30fps. Then you'd see a visual difference. Especially if you do a modern version with, say a core i7 950 vs a Phenom x6 1075t. The i7 is £20 more and 20% better performance.
This is entirely possible to anyone who thinks "something" was done. Modern games are becoming more and more GPU intensive, both systems use the same GPUs, so you might get 3fps more with a better CPU, wow I am very impressed. If your only getting 3fps with 2x 4870s, get something other than a F-king Pentium 4 and you will be on your way to playing Mass Effect.
26fps on a 6850..? I have one myself my friend, and I get avg of 34fps (on the CPU Benchmark) at 1920x1080 with everything maxed out. The GPU has been OC though... As for a CPU I have a 1090T running at 4.24GHz, IMO you will see a minimal difference, I don't think your CPU is starving the GPU in this instance. A better one may help a tad with some onsccreen processing. But as I said, many things are done with the GPU currently.
@joshetham I don't see how that possible, they are using the same gpus, so they probably rendered it wrong or something when they produced this video.
oh and can I max games like batman arkham city , crysis 2 and metro 2033 with these specs : amd phenom ii x4 955 Black Edition 3.2Ghz (or intel core i3 540 3.06Ghz "wich is better" ), 4Gb ram ddr3 and amd 6850 1gb ? Plz reply thanks .
cpu, if its gaming your doing, then the i3 will win with raw power, but at times the phenom might snatch it with the quad core advantages.
For me - neither aren't up to scratch, an i5 2500k for about £20 more than the 955 will allow you to max out games without experiencing stutters & bottlenecks. it kills both the i3 & 955 put together, as well as being faster clock for clock.
As for your gpu, its not suffice to completely "max" out most of those games you want to.
@hardstyle905 i bet you are intel user. its not worthless video it shows what is better to buy. do u wanna to pay 800 extra dollars for same cpu? get a life.
i got thee quad core 4 and can anybody tell me why is it soo slow? i have 4gb ram and a nvidia geforce im not sure which one and the case is a cooler master not sure which one to
Yo si que veo la diferencia sino solo hay que verlo en la forma de la tierra.En AMD es recta mientras que en Intel es la forma que en realidad tiene la tierra.De momento solo vi esa diferencia.I SEE THE DIFFERENCE.
AMD gives you The "Best Performance IN GAMES"... you see that? and Intel, gives you "The Best Performance In Every Stuff"
For me, I Prefer a INTEL processor because gives you the best performance in every stuff (everyday work, office, multi tasking, etc)... And The AMD is only for the best performance IN GAMES and I don't think that the Gamers today are going playing the 24 hours the 7 days in the week so, That's the Difference between this 2 powerful processors...
@Jozehkmz beg to differ amd gives the same performance in everyday workloads as well i work for ibm we do walmarts servers they use amd and guess what theyve never failed yet
Sorry, I'm in a bad mood today and I'm getting a little snappy and irrational, it's that time of month. :( Well I get the CPU's I do because there are times I need their power because I'm a gamer and I'm not really held back in financial terms so I often go overkill, also I occasionally I overclock them. Part of my problem recently is that I don't game as much as I used to due to lack of games that interest me. I like to experiment with computers as well. I don't have problems with my setups.
I wish more people realized the CPU doesn't matter that much anymore except if ur going to do a lot of video editing or something very CPU intensive like that. If ur a gamer all u need is a decent quad core. Once u crank up the settings in a game, especially AA and AF, the CPU makes virtually no difference. I've been building computers for years, and honestly the CPU has gotten less important. I often underclock and reduce the voltage of my CPU's, since I rarely need their full processing power.
@jessh1056 No, I believe your wrong. Having a capable CPU allows you to have the bandwidth to run Graphics intensive games. CPU bottlenecking is the cause of most drop in frame rates. Also, why would you underclock your CPU when all modern CPU's either use Speed stepping(Intel) or Cool'n'Quite(AMD) that already automatically adjusts voltage depending on temp and load. Something tells me your years of building computers wasn't quite enough my friend.
@Kedakari I'm well aware of CPU bottlenecking. I should of mentioned I was referring to decent quad-cores. I've never really ran into issues with it on a decent quad-core from either side. And I know about Speed stepping and Cool'n'Quiet, it's just I often disable Cool'n'Quiet due to some issues I've had with it. All I'm saying the CPU isn't really as important as it used to be, I never said the CPU was unimportant. Please don't assume I don't know about it just because I didn't mention it.
@jessh1056 No, CPU's are still important. They always will be.
They'll be even more important as hardware continues to require faster calculations and more bandwidth. Maybe your Cool'n'Quite isn't running as it should because your under clocking.
@Kedakari I never said the CPU is not important, just that their role isn't as important as it was in the past. Quit assuming that I am. Ur acting like I'm some kind of moron Ugh. ur jumping to conclusions again. It has nothing to do with me underclocking, it's because it's not properly working on some computers. Anyways I prefer messing with the voltages and cpu frequency myself because I get better results. Despite what u say it's not pointless to underclock a computer manually.
@jessh1056 You're the one jumping to conclusions here. I wasn't pointing out that under clocking is pointless. The conclusion I was reaching is that you stated that you under clock your CPU because you rarely need it its "full power." with that said, wouldn't it be more logical to use a CPU thats manufactured within your needs? Rather than spending more and using less. Unless your having problems with your setup? Maybe you shouldn't play with the voltages. :(
@Kedakari Sorry for getting snappy on u. I've never had issues when I'm reducing the voltage on a CPU just when I increase it, which I avoid even when overclocking. Sometimes I build a computer that has some quirks to them. I don't mess with things like overclocking or anything until I run the computer for a while and test for any possible problems with the setup or just some quirks. Sometimes disabling something or manually setting something in the BIOS fixes the issue.
Put this as a commercial on TV, and I bet the people with intel would commit suicide ;D na Just kidding. But seriously, If i had enough money to buy an i7 I would... SO only in my dreams...
maybe AMD is doing poorly because they are basing every new processor to be backwards compatible whereas Intel comes out with a new chipset everytime??
@Fatalsh0ts Releasing a new chipset every time isn't the reason Intel is doing better. They spend millions more on marketing than AMD. They reach more users who wouldn't know any better about a PC than what they heard in an advertizment. While AMD's comparability made it more price effective. In intel you had to replace Mobo and Ram to get the new CPU. Not to mention the i7 being almost 900 bucks on top of already having to buy new chipset.
How come you can watch in 720p but not in 480p?

i5 2400 beats any current AMD CPU, 2500k and 2600k OWNS any AMD chip.
AMD got late for at least an year by comparing to sandybridge Intel CPUs
But GPUs..... nice work AMD, you nailed it!
BenderYoung 4 months ago
Intels high end processors are better then anything AMD has. But you dont need that extra performance to play games so if your a gamer AMD is a better choice. Only people who are benching for the absolute highest FPS will be better with Intel

they used core 2 extreme on the intel platform
which is so expansive only because it has open multiplayer [good for overclocking]
if they were using q8400 or even q6600 it was alot cheaper at the same preformance.
and intel is pretty expensive because . for quality - you pay.

darkhunt6 7 months ago
@darkhunt6 No you are talking bullshit. AMD blows intel away if you buy processors which cost the same from both companies.
AMD Phenom II X6 1100T / 3.3 GHz is €158,39
Intel Core i5 2400 / 3.1 GHz is €153,05
The Phenom is capable of overclocking 3 of its 6 cores when not all 6 cores are used. it will over clock the 3 cores for 50% more performance. (on those 3 cores 50% less performance on the other 3, You won't use more then 3 cores for gaming anyway)
The i5 has hyper threading and turboboost.
kjevo 6 months ago
@kjevo i ask you a question like intel are those 6 cores 6?no i don't think so amd puts them cheaper but it has and low performance than intel, those from intel make the processors to the maximum capability and thats why intel is dominating the processor market.Few people will go with amd processor

@Crysis2isOnline Ok but still almost $1000 difference and pretty much looks the same.
UseryHee 6 months ago

If your only getting 3fps with 2x 4870s, get something other than a F-king Pentium 4 and you will be on your way to playing Mass Effect.

i have hd6850 with dual core 2,2GHz
in crysis i get avg 26fps... on maxed with no aa 1680x1050
i know its shit fps because of my cpu
so you are telling me that when i get my phenom II x4 965 black edition 3,4GHz that i will not see only 3 fps difference
marfg12345 9 months ago
@marfg12345
But as I said, many things are done with the GPU currently.

seifeldin94 10 months ago
@seifeldin94
cpu, if its gaming your doing, then the i3 will win with raw power, but at times the phenom might snatch it with the quad core advantages.
For me - neither aren't up to scratch, an i5 2500k for about £20 more than the 955 will allow you to max out games without experiencing stutters & bottlenecks. it kills both the i3 & 955 put together, as well as being faster clock for clock.
As for your gpu, its not suffice to completely "max" out most of those games you want to.

who cares about heavily threaded apps.
this video is quite clearly about gaming

Sorry, I'm in a bad mood today and I'm getting a little snappy and irrational, it's that time of month. :( Well I get the CPU's I do because there are times I need their power because I'm a gamer and I'm not really held back in financial terms so I often go overkill, also I occasionally I overclock them. Part of my problem recently is that I don't game as much as I used to due to lack of games that interest me. I like to experiment with computers as well. I don't have problems with my setups.
jessh1056 1 year ago
I wish more people realized the CPU doesn't matter that much anymore except if ur going to do a lot of video editing or something very CPU intensive like that. If ur a gamer all u need is a decent quad core. Once u crank up the settings in a game, especially AA and AF, the CPU makes virtually no difference. I've been building computers for years, and honestly the CPU has gotten less important. I often underclock and reduce the voltage of my CPU's, since I rarely need their full processing power.
jessh1056 1 year ago
@jessh1056 No, I believe your wrong. Having a capable CPU allows you to have the bandwidth to run Graphics intensive games. CPU bottlenecking is the cause of most drop in frame rates. Also, why would you underclock your CPU when all modern CPU's either use Speed stepping(Intel) or Cool'n'Quite(AMD) that already automatically adjusts voltage depending on temp and load. Something tells me your years of building computers wasn't quite enough my friend.
Kedakari 1 year ago
@Kedakari I'm well aware of CPU bottlenecking. I should of mentioned I was referring to decent quad-cores. I've never really ran into issues with it on a decent quad-core from either side. And I know about Speed stepping and Cool'n'Quiet, it's just I often disable Cool'n'Quiet due to some issues I've had with it. All I'm saying the CPU isn't really as important as it used to be, I never said the CPU was unimportant. Please don't assume I don't know about it just because I didn't mention it.
jessh1056 1 year ago
@jessh1056 No, CPU's are still important. They always will be.
They'll be even more important as hardware continues to require faster calculations and more bandwidth. Maybe your Cool'n'Quite isn't running as it should because your under clocking.
Kedakari 1 year ago
@Kedakari I never said the CPU is not important, just that their role isn't as important as it was in the past. Quit assuming that I am. Ur acting like I'm some kind of moron Ugh. ur jumping to conclusions again. It has nothing to do with me underclocking, it's because it's not properly working on some computers. Anyways I prefer messing with the voltages and cpu frequency myself because I get better results. Despite what u say it's not pointless to underclock a computer manually.
jessh1056 1 year ago
@jessh1056 You're the one jumping to conclusions here. I wasn't pointing out that under clocking is pointless. The conclusion I was reaching is that you stated that you under clock your CPU because you rarely need it its "full power." with that said, wouldn't it be more logical to use a CPU thats manufactured within your needs? Rather than spending more and using less. Unless your having problems with your setup? Maybe you shouldn't play with the voltages. :(
Kedakari 1 year ago
@Kedakari Sorry for getting snappy on u. I've never had issues when I'm reducing the voltage on a CPU just when I increase it, which I avoid even when overclocking. Sometimes I build a computer that has some quirks to them. I don't mess with things like overclocking or anything until I run the computer for a while and test for any possible problems with the setup or just some quirks. Sometimes disabling something or manually setting something in the BIOS fixes the issue.
jessh1056 1 year ago

maybe AMD is doing poorly because they are basing every new processor to be backwards compatible whereas Intel comes out with a new chipset everytime??
Fatalsh0ts 1 year ago
@Fatalsh0ts Releasing a new chipset every time isn't the reason Intel is doing better. They spend millions more on marketing than AMD. They reach more users who wouldn't know any better about a PC than what they heard in an advertizment. While AMD's comparability made it more price effective. In intel you had to replace Mobo and Ram to get the new CPU. Not to mention the i7 being almost 900 bucks on top of already having to buy new chipset.
