Making a batch file may technically be making a program, it is very limited.

As a next step up, try Python or Ruby; don't ever try to jump straight to C#, C+ or C++ as they are way more complex that Batch, Python or Ruby.

make a link:

goto the place where you have the program, rightmouseclick, new, shortcut.

then goto propertys and type the webadress. To execute, just use the command:

START *nameoflink*.url

with the name of the link (of couse) where *nameoflink* now is written.

This is atleast how you create a shortcut in win7 its probaly almost the same on any other win platform. If you have any questions just PM me ;)

if you save these as .exe it will never work .exe has to be either written in 1s and 0s or compiled into 1s or 0s from a compiler save as .bat or .cmd

@XimontageiX I see the problem... CMD can't handle a file name with a space, it tries to interpret it as either a separate file or command... Try using an underscore _ or renaming the file to one without spaces.

The command prompt in Windows is very limited in terms of names.

Takes after DOS, where everything was a one word file name.

just a tip with the copy thing when i dont put in destinations (cause im not sure how) it only works if the file i want to copy is in the same directory as the copy.bat file if somone knows how to fix/do it a different way please reply

If your trying to look advanced, i suggest learning VBScript instead of DOS. Or, if you have the know-how, you can create a DOS Batch file that writes VBScript files on its own and then runs them for you. With VBScript you can make messages appear, have input boxes, make bots that reply to you and so much more. Its an endless opportunity. Learn what you can my friend, and do what yah gotta do! Well thats good I guess. How about learning a better scripting language than all of those. you cant do much with these basics. why not something like the actual C ++ and some other ones like python and pearl. you can have some fun. Then work your way into my league, i just completed my own operating system. The kernel is damn simple so far, but im working on it. Its a bit like DSL just now, but its way more advanced programming than i used to be doing. XD
