Thank you for posting this very useful video. I noticed that you have two icons (apple and the "X"). Did you chance any software icons, or do they represent any software? If that's the case, could you tell what kind of software are they? Thank you once again.
@Rozashelz2 On the contrary, I'm a Windows user (3 Windows PCs) BUT I also have two macs. One of which refuses to turn on, the other Kernel panics after twenty minutes. Steve Jobs can kiss my ass.
@BlueCircleScotland of course, that scenario can only happen to a wintard. sell your macs and just stay in your pathetic windows world, where crashes are unheard of . we don't want u in our world.
@crashnoww My 2006 Windows laptop hasn't crashed once, just like the two more modern ones. My (2010) iMac turned on, kernel panicked and then refused to turn on again. I have an Ubuntu/Kubuntu laptop. It has also never crashed.
so uhh it worked pretty well except what if i want it to play as the computer starts. like when the initial sound plays when the computer is new. and actually i have the video that plays when you first use the computer. what if i wanted that to play?
the first time you start up a mac you need to register. so the first thing you'll see is the registration app. that movie is included in that app. so if u edit a plist to start that app every time you start your mac you'll have to register over and over again. i know that u can get the movie from the core, but to play it before the system starts it's not possible.
this is because there will be no codec loaded to be able to play a mov file. this was for a short sound not for something that long.
ah i see. i actually never knew what automator did until i saw your video. i played around with it and got me computer to say hello to me when it starts and i got the video/audio i talked about earlier to play but only after a full boot. it would be so awesome to see the movie play instead of a blue screen. now that i think about it the movie is maybe 35 seconds and my computer boots in about 20-25 so it wouldnt fit well. thank though you taught me something new.
@v3xx3r this is to play a sound when mac os startups like windows not when you prees the power button that is built into the EFI rom [bios for macs] and the video you see when you first get your mac is a intro video which you cant get to play again unless you do a clean install of mac os x, but you can get the video + music if you go into the go menu then goto folder then type this /System/Library/CoreServices/Setup Assistant.app/Contents/Resources/TransitionSection.bundle/Contents/Resources
the song is t.a.t.u. - scream (fly dream). i cannot say how to do it, u must search the internet for this (osx86), but i'll recommend u buy a mac. and if u like my videos subscribe.

Windows sucks compared to macs.
Windows users think macs suck because they've never used one.
I used to be team windows but back then I wanted a mac LOL

Hi Crashnoww.
Are you telling us that you were able to replace that age old Apple startup Chime with some other sound?
Is this what the Video is about?
Please confirm.
Many thanks,
Robert

Also you can't really change the startup sound as it's part of the computer hardware.
