  • This is a great match, Owen and Ken both had great work rate. Ken Shamrock was really solid while he held up in WWF.

  • wow what a match

  • Owen>>Bret

  • UFC take notes, this is how all your matches should be.

  • @extremechampion00 Scripted? lol

  • @extremechampion00 Boring as Hell?

  • awesome sauce match!

  • fake

  • MMA style wrestling. I love it!

  • Only owen could pull off a match like this so well.

  • was this pro wrestling attempt at trying to look like mma?

  • @Livasyandrew Kinda. Mostly they were trying to capitalize on Shamrocks history

  • These two have great chemistry. Being a WWF wrestler one must be tough, but I am reminded of just how versitle and tough Owen was.

  • fake

  • at first it thought it was a real match

  • @Einheri89 You=Idiot!

  • WWE/WWF is so boring

  • Damn Kenny was an awesome athlete and wrestler.

  • this is shit.. wwwUFC

  • You could see that Shamrock started shooting on Owen Hart a little after Hart picked him up and slammed him early in the worked fight. From here though the fight quickly turned into more of a pro wrestling style event but at the end when Shamrock won those were not Pro Wrestling fans, those were MMA fans. Another example of Vince McMahon helping out the competition a little too much.

  • Ken Shamrock vs. Randy Orton in a Lions Den match, even at 50 years old Ken Shamrock would win the World Heavyweight Championship.

  • WTF IS THIS FAKE SHIT

  • i got to wonder what would have happened if owen did go to WCW? maybe he would still be alive today.

  • it would be nice if the world wrestling of "ENTERTANINMENT" can utilize the LION'S DEN again! =0l

  • it would be nice if the world wrestling of "ENTERTANINMENT" can utilize the LIONS DEN again! =0l

  • what the hell how could he get knocked out from a samisson on his foot.

  • @MrBishopss The fuck is a samission?

  • I actually like this alot. It reminds me of the old style Japanese worked fights like the ones in the old Pancreas.

  • @b3ntleg What the fuck, bro? This looks nothing like a worked fight. It's just a pro wrestling match. Featuring Owen Hart. In a tiny cage. With no ropes. It even sounds retarded.

  • MMA match? Seriously? This is pro wrestling in a cage.

  • Owen Hart is no death???

  • @Fleischberg1 yes he is since 1999

  • @laurema1995 ok thanks

  • I miss this era so freaking much. This PG shit is so bad. God damn that kids of today. Fuck the C Nation. The attitude era can bitch slap the c nation.

  • This was a good match. Back the when the WWF was good and not the PG stuff today.

  • I miss the nugget

  • one of the best pro wrestlers against one of the best mma fighters in a lion's den match... now what better match could you get...

  • SwAg

  • 8:29 - 8:31 best counter in WWF history IMO

  • it fuckin bones me man, hot fighting, both take beatings, fuckin men fighting gets me wet !

  • Rest in peace owen.

  • 7:29

    WICKED DDT!

This was an awesome match. Wrestling was good back in the day. When it was great entertainment. People please, stop saying it's fake, you don't say the same for CSI or Movies. This is great entertainment.

    R.I.P Owen Hart

  • Shamrock Is One BADASS

  • @727Superstar it was only funny when JR said it because of the fact he's a cowboy hillbilly.

  • whao, what a strange mma match!

  • LOL at JR "Shamrock is one BAD ASS!"

  • i miss both of jr and ken shamrock in the wwe

  • lol even if its fake, can anyone explain to me how this guy decided that he was going to pretend to pass out to an ankle lock?

  • Fuck UFC

  • put shamrock in a match against john cena, i can promise you, cena wouldn't walk out on his feet.

  • 8:26 LOL Shamrock was nuts

  • Damn they did pretty well in this type of match

  • damn this match was good. there were no boring parts. and Shamrock was really impressive on the pro wrestling side of things.

  • @kalistoga Shamrock was good, but i think he would have done better in japan. Shamrock was known for being stiff with his opponents, some guys in the WWF couldn't handle it. Japans wrestlers are known for their stiff style so I can only imagine the kind of matches that could've happened with guys like Kenta Kobashi or Mitsuharu Misawa

  • The only cage fight we'll see at the Garden is from WWE.

  • what's even more funny is that these little kids, reminded me of a wwe match that happened like two months before this, yeah the hell in a cell with taker & mick foley.

no mma fighter, will ever in their entire career would even dream of abusing his body the way a "fake" pro wrestler did in that match. & thats just a day's work, of 300 days on the road.

    "wwe trying to be ufc"

yeah right, in 1998. right. little kids.

  • Comment removed

  • @sayanroy36 what are you talking about

  • The chants... super awesome. Compare to those with what we have now... pathetic...

  • RIP Owen.

& Owen had a decorated amateur career as a wrestler, he was trained into actual shoot fighting/ hooking in the famous Dungeon. if he chose to do mma, he might as well have been a great champion.

He chose pro wrestling simply coz choosing mma over wrestling in late 80s would have been nothing less than crazy.

& those little kids judging this video of a time when 80% americans didn't even know what octagon was & are stupid.

hell i wish he did mma, atleast he would be still alive.

  • @sayanroy36

Man thats so true, Ken is a MMA legend but Owen was a great wrestler!

Mabey he should have picked MMA over pro-wrestling, then his accident would never have occoured...

Still, geuss Wrestling was in that familys blood...and choosing MMA would have been crazy to them...

  • @sayanroy36 Good riddance to that nugget Owen Hart.

  • Ken is remembered in MMA, not WWE

  • was this inside or outside msg?

  • frank is beast

  • Drinking game...everytime JR says the words ".....by Shamrock" take a shot

  • yeah if shamrock was popular in the wwe they prob would make him win.. being because its fucking staged and they choose the winners upon popular vote.

  • @bells498

shamrock was way over with the fans and yes they did make him win

"coz its fuckin staged" - not shit sherlock. talk about being captain obvious.

oh btw popularity isn't the only yardstick to measure winners

  • I can't believe J.R called Owen a nugget, you he said it purpose.

  • This is one of WWE's BIGGEST Fails.

  • I wish they would bring back this match

  • Owen Hart beat the mess out of Shamrock in the dunegon match up in canada. Just to make it even

  • DAMN I HATE THIS! so gayish... FIGHT REAL MOTHA FUCKERS

  • I cant freaking believe it this was actually entertaining. I was searching for ken shamrock old fights in cage events and this came up. I know wwe is fake but by Allah this was entertaining.

  • most stupid thing wwe ever did, making a wannabe ufc staged fight

  • @Jahofnietdan

"wannabe uf" may i remind you the year son..pro wrestling was on its second golden age at this time, and ufc was a small time program on abc, they sent shamrock and dan severn in the wwe just to get some attention, wwe used to mention ufc's ppvs just to give them exposure.

all they were doing was trying to popularize the ufc

the rise of mma popularity in this country has a lot to do with shamrock going to the wwe.

stop being ignorant and learn some history

  • they misused and buried Owen, another reason i have hard feelings toward the WWE.

  • now this is wrestling!!!!shamrock should be let into the WWE hall of fame,he deserves it.

  • i love this match owen and shamrock did a great job

  • Where did this take place? I know the event was SummerSlam but where was this match?

  • @LPercy73 Madison Square Garden

  • @LPercy73

I rhink it was madison square garden

  • I can't believe this match happened. Amazing.

  • Holy Shit I had no idea this match had ever happened! What a gem. You learn something new everyday. Thanks so much for the upload.

  • @LPercy73

yea me neither. i used to be a big wrestling fan..... thats until i started watching the ufc. after that wrestling was so boring. its cool to see somthing of a mix of mma in this match. i might be able to watch pro wrestling a bit if it was more like this. but its still annoying to see them act all slow and get hurt by every single shot.

  • a ufc match in wwe

  • I swear you see this cage, and I think the future MMA promotions of the world will use it

  • yd they call hart a nugget

  • in 1997 after the Montreal Screw Job, Bret Hart left WWE. In solidarity all of the Hart Foundation members left WWE for WCW (Bull Dog and Anvil), Owen Hart wanted to do so as well but WWE did't let him as he had 5 years left in his contract. DX (HBK and HHH) then took credit from cleaning the WWE from all the Harts, but that Owen was that 'tiny, little nugget that when you go to the can just wont flush'. So after that the Owen came to be known as the Nugget.

  • @juancrox what the hell wwe is dumb he could have still been alive if he went to wcw he wouldnt have to do that blue blazer.

  • @juancrox Anvil didnt leave the WWF straight away after montreal.

  • @juancrox Bret said he didn't want Owen to go to WCW, it wasn't that WWE didn't let him go, Bret didn't want Owen to end up getting screwed in WCW

  • @juancrox

Well remembered, and thats why Own was never considered a main event guy. At least in the late 90's

  • @juancrox so u mean to tell me wwe kept Owen Hart to turn him into some freak Blue Blazer and get him killed 2 years after if he had gone 2 WCW he will still be alive till this day as i keep saying FUCK U VINCE

  • @manlykscorpa damn it all three of you have wrong. Owen couldn't go because of issues with the contract from wcw you guys want to secondhand sting when he said that he couldn't trust how wwe was going to use him well owen hart felt the same way about wcw he didn't trust how they were going to use him. i did think the blue blazer idea was very tragic but vince didn't do that in acts of carelessness or at least purposely.

  • @Torontosta "I AM NOT A NUGGET"

  • i wish some of the moves Owen did were actually used in UFC. I found this gem more entertaining than some of the UFC fights I've seen over the years.

  • WWF

  • this is one of my all time matches its a classic

  • Even at his age if he came back to WWE I would mark for him. He needs to come back, make Cena tap like a little girl, send his kiddie fans crying themselves to sleep, and then get that WWE Title reign that has been 10+ years overdue. I have an action figure of him on my desk wearing the winged eagle belt.

    Also RIP Owen.

  • one of the best ''unknown'' matches ever i really hope this makes it to some dvd compilation

  • It was a pretty cool concept, I think. I enjoyed the idea of a Lion's Den match, I think it could've caught on if used in some more storylines since it's basically no ring, no weapons, no way out, just you and your opponent in a small space; could be a great way to show off the guys who have 'technical wrestler' characters. Anyone else agree?

  • i think so too. i mean i think it would work well in wwe but for some reason i think it would be better in tna

  • i dont think it would work well at all for shamrock simply because of his last few mma fights. they just ruined any chance of anyone taking him serious in both wwe or tna. I would agree if you hadnt lost so badly in his last few fights, he really showed his age.

  • @bufdadydre yeah, like anyone should take WWE/TNA seriously

  • @SFWarrior2 , what im saying is.....the FANS wouldnt like to see him come to the wwe because of his recent matches. Maybe if he won those matches against ortiz they might accept him.. or maybe not. On a marketing stand point, It wouldnt work at all.

  • @SFWarrior2

oh im afraid a lot of people took it seriously , specially at this time and rightfully so , and there was no tna at this time little mark. learn some history and learn how hard the life of a pro wrestler is..maybe you'll appreciate this form of art as well

better yet, ask shamrock about the injuries he sustained in scripted fighting.

  • @sayanroy36

lol so you masturbate to this "fornm of art" still ... grreat.

fyi, i used to like this b.f.s. also

    when i was 10

    then i discovered pussy :P

  • @SFWarrior2

its a stupid analogy from a 10 year old kid

if it wasn't for the likes of ed strangler lewis, bill watson, the great lou thesz, all former NWA champions of the 20th century who mastered the art of hooking, there will be no MMA today

you'r thinking of pro wrestling is rooted into what uncle vince fed you as a child, trust me, there's more to that

& also mma can thank its popularity when Dan Severn showed on Raw with his UFC title, if they didn't have a problem, you shouldn't either

  • ken shamrock is killer if he was in wwe now he would DOMINATE!

  • @TheCitrusdude if it is in the script of the charade called professional wrestling.Aren't you old enough to stop watching the wwe clowns monkeying around.

  • @cygroltd how is it any different from a fight scene in a movie or a telivision show? how is it any different from an action movie? enlighten me, keep your opinions to yourself if you don't like it, then dont comment. get a life.

  • @TheCitrusdude

Shamrock could give Cena a bitch slap for good

  • @TheCitrusdude it's not real anyone can dominate it just depends who they say wins dumbass.

  • @TheCitrusdude if the scriped allowed him to....

  • @TheCitrusdude Ken the femm might as well go fake fight, he aint no gaddamn good at real fighting.

  • @TheCitrusdude wwe is fake anyone can dominate

  • Time of innovation. Attitude never dies.

  • ẁat is a lions den?

  • @AalTheEarl it's essentially a UFC octagon, as shamrock had come from the ufc.

  • Worked shoot in WWF? Is this some sort of parallel universe or something?

  • I think a worked shoot is where they plan something but the wrestlers make up stuff as they go instead of before.

  • No it's not, watch UWF, BattlARTS, RINGS etc. and you'll see what it means.

  • I remember this match, back when WWF was great. RIP Owen

Oh and good luck Ken in your fight against Petruzeli this March!

  • @snipet19 oh yeah the fight with petruzelli.. that he pulled out of..

  • A classic. WWE need to learn from their pass success. These matches were awesome back then.

  • AND UND AND UND AND UND

  • this great i never knew this took place. long live owen heart

  • Owen was NOT a nugget!

  • 2:32 NINJA!!!!! lmao

  • @Murielyoukanaaj was???

  • This match is just as bad as the Kennel From Hell match.

  • Kurt angle better than ken shamrock?

  • the only things about the ankle locks is that you can just turn and kick the guy or roll out of it or such ... they never do but its the easy way out... and that choke out is easy to get punched in the face you have to tuck his arm under your leg so he cant use it... other then that it was a good match.

  • @MultiVidur i imagine it would still suck because it's fake

  • So why are you watching this video? And yes, you don't think we know it's fake? Movies are fake as well, jackass. You want to point that out?

  • CM Punk no n if Cena was more of a brawler than a showman

  • maybe hardys too.,,, for the stunts they did and such eh?

  • ur an idiot because u put all the greats in there with the reason why it sucks so bad 2day

  • an amazing match, i think i prefer the Dungeon Match though. classic

  • nice Ken Shamrock

    *-*

  • WOW i fucking remember this match man has it really ben 11 years.

  • Right on man my fav team 2.

  • Yeah i hear u. So is your sn seattle seahawks?

  • basically: you CANT compare professional wrestling to UFC. You just can't. although there are some professional wrestlers that do train in real martial arts

  • Nah im not comparing im just saying

  • This Match is basically , UFC VS. WWF

  • Great match. RIP Owen.

  • RIP Owen Hart. I would have liked to see this match with UFC rules.

  • wow,one of the best match Ive ever seen

  • WWE would beat UFC in a real fight.

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.......guys....HEY GUYS!...did u read what this fuckhead wrote?....HAHAHAHAHAHAHA...kid ur talking about fake fighting vs real fighting.....HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA....u made my day kid...XD

  • Lets see BJ Penn against the Big Show. Lets see GSP against the Great Khali

Lets see Anderson Silva against Randy Orton

Lets see Lyoto Machida against the Undertaker

Lets see Brock Lesnar against CM Punk

    Result: WWE 5, UFC 0.

  • dude.....the UFC is REAL!!! REAL FIGHTING!!! REAL BLOODSPORT!!!....the WWE is just acting. Nothing more....u seriously expect the big show the get BJ penn in a chokeslam?...BJ Penn will simply break his arm and dislocate his shoulder.....watch some real fights for once idiot.

  • You have to admit though, this was a great MMA style match both Shamrock and Mr. Hart performed together. Owen was trained in the shoot style of wrestling like his older brothers were, and Ken Shamrock of course came from MMA. Using their two styles, they both were able to perform a quality match up. Plus, the reason Shamrock did so well in the WWE(WWF at the time) was the fact that before he became an MMA fighter he was a Pro Wrestler. In Japan at least he was. He was introduced to MMA in Japan

  • this was scripted none the less.....but yes it was a very good match...but the other guy i'm arguing with seems to either think 2 things: 1. wrestling is real or 2. u can actually pull of an RKO in the UFC......which is just plain out ignorance. But yes, that is true....ken was introduced to MMA in Japan.....

  • this little kid acts like it's a real struggle wen Big Show chokes an opponent..you think UFC would sell those moves?Hell no....Undertaker can survive in UFC.Just cuz ur a wrestler doesn't mean you can't defend yourself.

  • no dude....i know that they can defend themselves.....but like, Jeff Hardy isn't gonna pull off the twist of fate on Anderson Sylva right? Or Batista doing a Batista bomb on Fedor Emelianelko....in fact, Fedor would fuck them all up....

  • size matters.. once someone like the big show grabs someone, it's over.

  • the only win that would happen there is bj penn like 1/3 the size of big show and gsp would would destroy kahli orton lose against silva lesnar kill cm punk

    ufc 5 wwe0 u dumb ass

  • theres no way cm punk can beat lesnar, anderson silva will kill orton

big show might beat bj penn since big show was so called a boxer back in the days, khali cant fight so gsp won, lyoto and taker idk. i think its equal. so ufc 3 wwe possiblely 2

  • Dude, comparing MMA to pro-wrestling to is just plain retarded. It's apples and oranges. We know it's not a competitive sport. It's a form of live, athletic theatre and we appreciate it as such.

One thing they do have in common is both were more fun to watch in the 90's lol. You were the man Owen Hart, RIP.

  • trakas35 is right. CM Punk beating Brock Lesnar? You are fucking kidding me!

  • YEA OKAY!!!! u most b crazy...WWE would beat UFC in a real fight

Thats like.... A wimpy kid winnin a prison fight against 3 guys

  • No3x! UFC would beat WWE in a fake fight. Huh huh!

  • this actually looks real.

  • Yeah.Acclaim included them as a way to differ Anarchy Rulez from WWF Attittude.

  • I loved watching the Lion's Den Matches and playing them on Anarchy Rulez.

  • they were in that game?

  • Vintage Vince Russo I'm assuming...

  • seemed kinda off.. seems like in a mma match he wouldnt of let go at the multiple times he did
