Marra is not a Geordie slang word. It originates from Jarrow actually, 'alreeyt me marra from Jarra.' If calling someone from Jarrow a Geordie suits then fine, but as a Geordie (born on the right side of the Tyne) I know its not one of our words.

Mackems use it as part of their slang. I am born and raised and have got a ton of relatives, young and old at not ONE use Marra as a slang word and I have never heard a Geordie use the word Marra in all of my 33 yrs living here.
