  • he's a sweet drummer i might add

  • That solo....

  • I stopped following Genesis once Steve left. As you watch this video you will know why. Simply an amazing talent.

  • This song is awesome!! I like everything genesis ever recorded. There musical style changed over the years and some fans are divided over the Gabriel and Collins era's. I personally have great affection for both. These guys deserve our respect for giving us something solid to hold on too for so many years. Something that is sadly missing from today's bubble gum music scene!! Big respect to all members, past and present, including Steve Hackett !!

  • The altsax-solo replacing the flute is a pretty brilliant stroke. And that guitar solo: the notes are pretty simple, but Steve turns it into a moving mood piece.

  • From the UK Wiki it says that Genesis never played the piano intro to Firth of Fifth in their live shows (for instance on Seconds Out) and so Steve and his band were the first to bring it to the audiences. Great job by Roger King!

  • Amazing. Thanks for sharing. Bless whoever recorded it.

  • Am I the only one who thinks that the drummer's voice sounds a bit like Greg Lake?

  • Outstanding !!! Just keeps getting better !!

  • So many goosebumps ......

    thanks for posting.

  • The best pièce in the best Genesis album and an absolute masterpiece in the history of music. All music.

  • bepin Agreed. Absolutely brilliant guitar solo. My all time favorite album. Genesis never recovered from his departure. My opinion of course.

  • The best

  • Belíssimo! Uma das mais lindas do Genesis.

  • Oh god! I would love to see this before I die! It makes me smile and cry! It's incredible!!!

  • @evzen1973 I've just seen him at The Wharf in Tavistock. They played this piece and the solo had me in aural ecstasy with spinal shivers - it was superb! The following night my friend saw them in Gloucester and apparently they didn' t play this piece. Luck of the draw I guess. Anyway, he's touring the UK in February 2012; don't just pine, go and see him!

  • @Kavala76 They played it last saturday in Zoetermeer (NL) and yes: Spinal shivers... Great experience!

  • Phenomenal. Outstanding musicians.

  • no joke, I've listened to this masterpiece (original version) more than 2000 times in my life

  • GENIAL

  • When you listen to this don't you feel like you've been somewhere?

  • @sulfacide That is the most poetic thing I've ever heard anyone say after hearing this track and yes, I do feel that . . . . I've written it down for use in the future :)

  • Legend! saw the 2 recent tours

  • the most epic guitar solo in a rock song ever!

  • Wonderful!

  • my favourite guitar solo..

  • One of the most espetacular music of all time. The Angel's breath...I saw mr. Hackett here in São Paulo about '90. Unbeliveable!!

  • Thank you Thank you Thank you!

  • Who is playing the drums?

  • @BoRaiChoWins That's Gary O'Toole.

  • Wonderful, legendary Genesis' masterpiece. But the voices of Peter Gabriel and Phil Collins are somethin else, unreachable, mostly Gabriel's one!

What I would not give to see the historic Genesis band in concert!

  • SURREAL...

  • version extraordinaria

  • The piano intro is something special, Tony Banks is simply a genious!

  • Saw the "TrainOn the Road" in Toronto. Fantastic, loud, wonderful show!!!

  • J'aime beaucoup cette version très originale, pleine de fraîcheur et de nature...on dirait un peu un conte musical..en tous les K ça m'y fait penser....la grosse voix du Loup, de Pierre et le loup par exemple...

  • how could you not love this!!! onemust be crazy!

  • Holy shit.

Steve still has it. Amazing stuff.

    Thumbs up for this vid.

  • ESTÁ ENTRE AS 100 MELHORES DO "SÉCULO XX" NO GENERO. INCRÍVEL A PARTICIPAÇÃO DA PLATÉIA. FANTÁSTICO!

  • I LOVE that sax! It does even more for this song than the flute does. Incredible!

  • @growlyman; who's playing base?

  • @yoohooone1 That would be the extraordinary Nick Beggs, of Kajagoogoo. He's an amazingly talented musician, great showman, and very nice man.
