As a diehard fan of the original it astounds me that hollywood cannot come up with anything original anymore and end up going back to the "oldies but goodies" for something "new". I find it an insult to fans of either great TV shows or movies when these no-talented "producers" do these "re-imagings" of classics and then totally ruin both the current product and they spit on the memory of the original. This show had potential and I think if it were not "Night Stalker" it could have florished.
I think the viewers needed at least 2 seasons to get used to the darker format, with a more serious lead character than the original. McGavin was great with the quirky Kolchak, but both series were very good.
The show had potential. Each episode was getting better. Nightstalker had the dumb luck on being on ABC and on a really bad night. I honestly think the show would have fared better on Friday, Saturday, or any other night than Thursday.
i just finished watching all 10. great show!!! i enjoyed them all. too bad there arent anymore.

This one of my favorites. I wish they made more, I blame abc for the stupidest things they've done to this show.
