i have a serious q for u. Im in High school and we are making commercials for colleges we want to go to and i wud love to use ur vid for the credits or smthin, i wont gain from it but i wanna know how to properly give u credit and if u wud allow me to use uit at all. id appreciate it! lemme know! PLZ!
@mumpump My special thanks goes to Puryx aka Christian Rønde who let me use his music for the soundtrack originally created for a demo called Nucleophile
Dude. Great music. Stunning graphics. Absolutely the most beautiful CGI I've seen in a long time. I could sit here and watch this for hours. You should do a full-length DVD. =-)
My question would be: The best for what? Then, we can go into everlasting debate. But the truth is, the best tool is the one you know the best. And the quality of work depends on the artist.
beautiful.

Awesome video. Good span on acoustics. The bass hits real hard, have to play with amp to not shut down....
Do you have any more projects you have done that we can listen to? I love this kind of stuff but am clueless how to do it on my own.

Does this video have a point to make other than, "look at the pretty colours as you listen to really crappy music"?

Ooh boy, someone ripped the Neucleophile soundtrack. I approve. You have excellent taste in music, my friend.
BTW, what did the professor think of this project?

Thanks! I was influenced by the scene from the C64 era. But lamely, I have never attended a demo party...

it doesnt matter what you use, its how u use it

Is this realtime? If no, why not? :)
Also, cute Nucleophile influence there ;)
gargaj 2 years ago 2
No, I wish it was realtime but Im not that familiar with real time techniques/tools. Its Houdini.
Another influence was Sincere by TBC. Its one of the best demos I have seen.

It would be pretty easy to render with basic lambert and ssao. But 1M particle count?! Maybe with CUDA...? I have no idea.

Thank you all!

Yes, max is simple and easy to learn. But its not for well suited procedural effects. Softimage ICE is somewhat close to Houdini.

Pew Pew, awesome

This is amazing. I'm just starting to learn Houdini, and it's extremely complicated. Keep up the great work.
