That is pretty awesome, that it could run L4D, period, for a netbook... I'm surprised it didn't croak the moment the horde came flying in.

Kinda random, but, was the load clicking in the beginning from the netbook's mouse buttons?

I was thinking about getting one of these, but I haven't been able to find one in stores to test the mouse button stickiness/stiffness/loudness -_-

Left 4 Dead supports 7.0, but I prefer 8.1, best balance of visuals and frame rate.

dude ..on such a small display i would recommend you to use 800x600 resolution ...it would give u some extra fps

No, it's the same thing.

Difference in only that with the XP version, the ION should have its DX10 "turned off" (hence, the "LE" version) - but:

1) you can turn it on if you want (check some forums on-line)

2) it's not really needed, as running games with DX10 graphics on such laptop (Atom CPU) isn't the best choice anyways =)

DX10 hogs memory and CPU, generally only for powerful laptops or newer desktops.

L4D and most source engines work best on DX8 on netbooks, since it's extremely easy on the CPU

It's running off of a 5400RPM HDD, but loading time should be the least of your concerns in this game.

It feels laggy all the time, actually. Not just when the horde of zombies come at you. When they do, the only thing you can do is spray like crazy. You can see that in the video.
