  • Swtor >>>>>>>SUCK

  • Jesus Christ people are talking about pandas like its so fuckin crazy. You have magic and talking cows in the game already. STFU. Its a fantasy game for crying out loud. Its suppose to have talking creatures and crazy allies and people flying on riding carpets. I personally don't give a shit what you say unless you have played the beta, and you haven't. Thanks for reading and have a nice day.

  • Lots of good research and points here.. I agree with almost everything you said. My criticism would be on your personal "angry" deliverance.. I personally don't appreciate all the swearing, I think it ruins the professionalism and makes it harder to take you and your message seriously. I think it may have been a big contributor to your dislike bar as well, because pretty much everything you said was true, so its either due to fanboyish defending of SWTOR or your deliverance that offended people.

  • oh and another thing, your comparing a star wars game 'be it crappy or not' to a game who is gonna put pandas into a game

  • @Barbarbarain1 Whats wrong with Pandas? You already have Goblins, Trolls, Worgens, Orges, Orcs, Elves, Dwarves, Dragons, robots, magic and other crazy shit. Seriously, Talking cows. Are pandas REALLY that big of a deal? It only sounds bad now because the "cool" people of the game that like to roll orcs and smash shit made it sound bad. I am actually looking forward to it. People said the same thing about Tauren as i recall. "Really? Talking cows?" At least its what i heard. Its a fantasy game.

  • i feel as though your not taking both sides.... like the quest dialogue, im sorry it isnt like wow, i mean i played world of warcraft and i was excited to actually WANT to read the quest dialogue, a game like world of warcraft isnt a story telling game and the developers made it like that..... world of warcraft is a combat game.... make sure you compare games on the same level, or else your point is invalid

  • I'm shocked that this video got so many negative reviews. You made what is probably the best and most accurate analogy of the situation between SWTOR and WOW. The Star Wars fan base is comprised to two kinds of fans, the true fans and the ones who don't care about lore but think they know Star Wars. I don't think any of the idiots that 'disliked' this video are from the first demographic. Good analysis. I enjoyed. SWTOR had so much hype, but it won't kill WOW.

  • Eugh, the way you said "Origins"... Slow down so you can talk properly.

  • Wow, I had to stop listening because event though I have listened to a lot of idiots whine about SWTOR, you take the cake. Listening to you mispronounce words over and over is painful. Please go back to WoW and leave the better games alone. I am sorry if you spent some of your burger-flipping cash on this game but please stop and go back to WoW where people tolerate this stupidity.

  • I love WoW but I can't get Old republic to load. If I enter a building a lag starts

  • Since you're such the expert of all MMORPG's why dont you go make the best MMORPG the world has ever seen. I'll be you're first customer.

  • @1891raymond "The best" anything is subjective. Still, there are certain qualities that people look for in MMORPGs, whether by conditioning from having played other MMOs or by desire to see certain features alluded to but not fully there in other games. Personally, I will never desire a game that I intend to have over a billion players. I'd much rather design a game expected to have a few hundred thousand at any one time, and fill some niche not currently provided in the market.

  • @1891raymond Are you 12?

  • @1891raymond ArenaNet is already not it :P (GW2 ftw lol)

  • @JLW0077 on*, sorry lol

  • @1891raymond you are basically saying that editors can write the best articles. you are retarded

  • @1891raymond Everyone always says that about critics and everyone who says that is wrong.

  • I had to stop listening at 3 minutes in, you're just a massive whiny bitch

  • wow...you have so much wrong information in here, first no dual blade sabers are not limited to sith only lore wise.

Secondly the class that uses it is not a caster, the Shadow is a melee class.

In addition to your point on lightening, play an assassin, use lightening and a lightsaber....

It sounds like you barely even looked into the game, and just wanted to complain.

#3 had some bugs, but nothing horribly game breaking

#2 They have already released new content.

  • noob

  • and really 1 jedi/sith, can't be expected to learn everything, spreading a characters powers too wide means they cant really specialize in much of anything... they can't all be as badass as starkiller, luke, or revan.

  • technically to number 4...inq/con can specialize in light saber combat if you pick the assassin/shadow adv class... and still maintain a pretty badass selection of force powers.

  • wow has stood strong because it manages to combine cultural, mythological and political themes in to one game, most rpg's only focus on one theme but wow focuses on many themes which is why azeroth is such a vast, interesting world and why it has managed to steal millions of peoples lives. SWTOR will not beat wow unless it follows or exceeds it in such aspects, only the hardcore mmo players will play SWTOR and star wars fans of course. it's just like what happened with rift.

  • @brainjuice654 "hardcore mmo players"

Wut, you're saying playing this game makes you hardcore? Star Wars Galaxies was more "hardcore".

  • @Kotoszayel hardcore mmo players in other words people who are dedicated to mmo's and play/try all of them. everyone plays wow because it's better

  • @brainjuice654 So a mmoidort.

  • @Kotoszayel an mmofanboy

  • @brainjuice654 Idort fits better. To use fanboy is too loosely.

  • @Kotoszayel yeah if u spelt it right

  • @brainjuice654 Spelled what right? (Are you trying to be ironic by misspelling?)

  • @Kotoszayel yes, idiot not idort

  • @brainjuice654 Okay listen here. Idort not idiot. Idort means One who claims ownership/ allegiance/ fondness for two or more entities popularly considered irreconcilable and/or arch-enemies. Fanboy is a someone who claims one game or one genre is superior while an Idort is someone who owns em all and plays them. The More You Know.

  • @Kotoszayel oh lol

  • i mean why do you need SWTOR and WOW when you have GW2! .... Ooh hail GW2 give us might to kick all MMORPG

  • yea you were wrong

  • the old republic shits on WoW.. sorry but you seem like a guy who has never got any p*****

  • GW2 is the next step in MMORPG games SWTOR was just a repeat of wow and frankly is lookin to be quite boring and dull. only thing SWTOR has is that it is star wars...thats it... truly the trailers were the best part of the game. IF one is serious about looking into a game that will have a SERIOUS chance of overthrowing WoW it will be without a doubt Guild Wars2....research the game and decide for yourself...

  • @beestra1 yea and also will like to add that damn this kid is a WoW d*ck sucker;however is review is great and spot on about SWTOR Vs WoW its the same damn game yawn...wants something new....innovated....

  • Swtor won't kill WOW. Panda's will!

  • I really want to disagree......But....it's quite clear that I cannot. You are right. Panda's are going to make WoW so fucking cheesy. (not that it needs more help in that department lately)

  • I am 12, what is this?

  • WoW is a sequel to the Warcraft rtsrpg series while SWToR has little to do with the original Star Wars content. All of WoW's expansions and raids are built on things that happened in the previous games or in the lore of the series while ToR has make it up as it goes because there is no strong grip to the lore or anything in the game. I have no want to go back to MMORPGs but if I did, I'd go back to WoW which I wasted 3 years of my life on. This will become Bioware's biggest flop.

  • Who gives a shit about lore I just want to play a game that kicks ass. Anyway You maybe right but not by what you said but what you didn't say, and that's WoW will kill itself. Because you like lore so much they have brought their stupid gay Panda Monks from Warcraft 3 lmfao hope ur happy. On that not I'm going to the store to buy a copy of SWTOR. :D

  • I am still up in the air to whether or not I should try it. I love Bioware, even though their games are glitchy. I still have hope that it can be a WoW killer.

  • The majority of the WoW fan-base is composed of players who have their heads up their asses. When you play WoW, you typically run into two types of dickheads: those that will call you gay, or those that will call you stupid. So, in the end, when you play WoW, you're either gay, or stupid. Pick your poison. Please, save your, "youre a fagg whose nevr played wow" shit for someone who would actually give you the time of day. 'Cause I sure as hell won't.

  • @VergilsRespite Yes, I've played SWTOR, too. I enjoyed it for about two weeks, until I realised it utilized the same bland, unintuitive mechanics as WoW. Yeah, I was blinded by the thought that it may be different from it's rival, and in turn wasted an extra week of time on a game that boiled down to the same damn thing: "attack foe A, CC foe B, put companion on foe C, " and that it was another enormous fucking number crunch.

  • @VergilsRespite Have you been watching my new channel, TheRPGFanatic? I posted an analysis of WoW onto it recently.

  • @VergilsRespite you spelled SWTOR wrong.

But seriously, all it took me was to say "hi" in general chat and I started getting flamed.

  • @VergilsRespite The same exact thing can be said about SWTOR? ;)

  • personally i think wow died with cataclysm because it butchered the lore

you can disagree but it's true, cataclysm killed off all chances of a warcraft 4 release.

  • Towelliee did Eternity Vault Nightmare Mode and had no idea it was even on nightmare mode... that's how pathetic the endgame is. Go down Heroic Madness of Deathwing... YOU CANT!

  • @Cynics29 Good point.

  • Any Real gamer can see SWTOR is complete trash. G/L ever seeing MLG status play with this POS game.. it cant and wont be done. Way to Clunky and slow. No macros, no focus targets, no addons... Bads don't like damage meters or Omen style addons, because they end up getting booted from the group for being complete trash. WoW takes skill to be a pro. Try playing SWTOR like Reckfull or Talbadar play wow, it cant be done to slow to clunky. >>> CONTINUED

  • you owe me 21 minutes

  • This game would be so balanced if the jedi's would have healers, but the sith wouldnt. Sure they might have added stuff that werent in the original lore, but u want them to make an unbalanced game that is doomed to fail ? Yeah that will be awesome right.........

  • inb4 WoW ragekid blaming a game he didn't play.

  • I totally agree with you on the healing part and the dual lightsaber part, everything else is valid but could be countered by a sw fanboy who rages on wow

  • This is a perfect example of why you don't say a game is going to fail MONTHS before it even came out. There is so much false shit in this video it's ridiculous, first off wow is a piece of repetitive shit, it's fun for a few days or weeks but doing the same dungeon 5 times in a row to level once is not fun gameplay, swtor shits on wows leveling and story even if there is less content you can solo the quest line to the max level, try that in wow and I guarantee you will shoot yourself, the only

  • @SwagDaddyx24 You can solo all the way to the max level in WoW. I've done it several times using different characters. However, the focus of a game should be on the playing with multiple people. Real people, not fictional characters.

  • @SwagDaddyx24 I've leveled 15 toons to 80 and 85 in WoW doing various different ways. My main toons leveled to 85 barely even touching dungeons until end game. Silly Biodrone, you're wrong.

  • @Kotoszayel 15 hahaha nice life kid, ive played alot of mmos never got to around 80 in wow until i was bored of it and im a BioDrone because i say Swtor will kill WoW? Im level 50 in Swtor and even if its a new release it has PLENTY of endgame content since you actually have to earn your tier 3 gear by going through the tier 1 and 2 first and its actually a challenge and i like that

  • @SwagDaddyx24 Kid? I'm pretty sure twenty-two isn't a kid's age and leveling toons on WoW isn't hard at all, I was 80 in a weekend. How can it kill WoW when it copies WoW to the tee with just a Star Wars Theme over it and a shitty one at that. They're already on tier 3? Didn't the game just come out 2 months ago, tier 3 this soon? But you will continue to be a biodrone to justify your buyers remorse and enjoy paying for a single player game. Don't criticize the game or you get ding dong bannu~!

  • I must say after launch and playing, wow fan boi here has his foot in his mouth. Tip- not every gamer wants to get on and raid until their nuts stick to the chair. Some actually do enjoy the story, which are fucking awesome so far.

  • @shaydyknight If you want a story read a book. Games are for playing.

  • Comment removed

  • who gives a fuck about the books. Fan boys are the ones that made Lucas state he is done with SW and also said it was the critucal fans aka the can't fucking grow up fan boys.

  • I listened up until you said "WHAT THE FUCK BIOWARE". Then this wasn't a review as to why the game, in your opinion, would not be better than WoW, it is just a /rage video that a majority of people could not care less about.

  • YOU ARE SUCH A BULLSHITTER I BET YOUR TOILETS FULL OF SHIT THAT WON;T FLUSH

  • yoda/darth sidious are good at both lightsaber combat and force powers becuase they are TH GRAND JEDI MASTER AND DARK LORD OF THE SITH RESPECTIVLEY so of coruse thier going to be badasses with light sabers and force powers you douche

  • this is the most bullshittin video i HAVE ever seen. Galaxies was awsome but SWtor justs out does it in everyway. does WoW have full voice acting? no. does WoW have flying starships that blow shit up? no Does WoW have swaering jedi? no.

  • This guy needs to have more conversations with real people. The mispronunciation that is endemic in this guy's dialogue started to make me cringe. Like nails on a chalkboard. And SWTOR rules. A lot of the things that this guy is hating are things I hear from pot invested WOW players that are too afraid to walk away from all the time that they have sunk into WOW. They are just afraid to start the ladder again and are clinging to a last gen MMO with dated graphics. Every lame protest is just weak.

  • you under estimate mmo gamers i think. that was kind of insulting actually

  • Wow's content is getting even more ridiculous over the 9 years the games been out the game has not improved in graphics. And also there next expansion with freaking panda's wtf you say how there content is original when there adding kung fu panda and pokemon I mean I think the reason bioware made it story driven so it would make "sense" the world has been attack by giant demons and a prince of darkness and now panda's are here to save us just when we killed a dragon yea thats stupid.

  • @MegaNinjaFTW Pandaren are from Warcraft III. They pre-date World of Warcraft.

  • man u should try before you rant shit about it this game has physics, advanced classes, aoe looting, the crew skills which you mentions means no more farming and the bugs will be patched or a few weeks. I don't mind listening to dialog in skyrim so I won't mind in this cause I think I would enjoy watching a person get foce lightning'ed then reading a quest scroll with no meaning. And they also made every class look awesome except for wow when the dk came out tonnes! of people played it.

  • The big reason i think this game aint overthrow wow is cse the "mmo" part of mmorpg of SWTOR....totally sucks. The gameplay of this game is just kinda like too much single player.

  • Why all the hate on this video? He makes valid points... Oh, right, fanboys that close their eyes in delusion.

I give credit to TOR for the RPG factor, but if you take that away, along with the cinematic quest briefings, all you have is Rift in a future setting with lightsabers.

The only thing TOR has that Rift didn't is the Star Wars fanbase; Bioware took perfect aim at their wallets and it worked.

  • 1. Wow was released in 2004 in the US, and 2005 in Europe (dont know 'bout Asia)

    2. Minor diction problem

    3. You spend too long time on 1 issue

    that was the bad things

    now for the good things

    1. You act professional (in this video)

    2. You're being neutral towards the conflict between fanboys

    3. You give alot of interesting facts about TOR (not so much wow, but w.e)

    4. You compare TOR to KOTOR

all in all, one of your better videos ;)

  • This game is awesome, u suck

  • Last comment it's fuuuuuuuuun fu77n

  • Wow gets boring after 20 minutes swtor gets boring after your dead and still in heaven you r playin

  • Yeah u should read the game title it's not knights old republic or world of Warcraft

  • Lol, i like the game, don't even care if some lightsabers are wrong and etc. It's fun to play i don't have to watch the vids to think it's cool!

  • I agree Carey. I think that whatever turns out to be the "WOW killer" is going to be the first MMORPG to come along that eschews the done-to-death dps/tank/healer framework, and does it well. Hopefully we see that soon...unlikely though :( Anywhooo...back to Skyrim

PS: Please keep makin' the vids, you are one entertaining fellow

  • @giantgrowth1

I think that whatever kills WoW (be it SWTOR or something else) will be a better version of WoW, not a complete reinvention of the wheel.

  • @darthvader7888 I could see that too...sure am getting tired of this wheel though :)

  • @giantgrowth1

Anyways, don't count SWTOR out just yet. It obviously wasn't going to kill or beat WoW on day 1. However, over time, who knows, it might. It's certainly off to a great start (2 million players within 3 weeks, for example). Like I said though, whatever it is that kills WoW will probably be quite similar to it, but better, perhaps with a few unique things (like SWTOR), rather than a complete reinvention of the wheel.

  • Agreed

  • you sir, are very stupid.

  • just a whining guy who is angry because the game didnt turn out to be like he wants :D

  • @sanitoeter He made valid points before the release. The game may not have turned out the way he wanted it to be, but it did turn out exactly how he expected:

    .

A Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing FAIL!

    .

For all the stories BW have created in ME, they sure fucked up the SW Lore.

You are blinded by the Bioware + Star Wars brand. You are inferior.

  • They should make World of Diablo.

  • I decided that,in the end it is all about preference.nobody is really right or wrong.it is all about what the individual prefers.I only wrote all this because I felt that TOR was being unfairly judged when it has even been out long enough to reach it's full potential.I enjoy the KOTOR style of games and I think it adds to the MMO.and the style must be popular or we wouldn't have Mass Effect or Dragon Age.people buy them and they keep making sequels.they doing something right. They're making money

  • okay, now on to contradictions.he says at 6:06 that "TOR does not derive itself from dungeons and dragons".then at 19:14 he begins comparing TOR to Dungeons & Dragons and ranting on how Bioware needs to be more original and stop using D&D Online Video Game format.ever stop to think, that maybe it is a popular format. bioware is just sticking to what they are good at,and they are good at that style.hell even blizzard has come out with another D&D since WOW i.e Diablo 3. you gonna bash D3 too?

  • @AngellustheAngel What kind of argument is this? WoW and Diablo are FANTASY games. They play in worlds nearly identical to D&D. SW:TOR, on the other hand, is a STAR WARS game. For what should be a very obvious reason, it should play like a sci-fi game and not conform itself to play like a swords and sorcery fantasy game. They took the SW universe and forced character archetypes to conform to those of a fantasy game. That is my criticism.

  • @jfreedan first of all you are wrong about SWTOR not playing like a Sci-fi game.in fact it plays like two of the most popular scifi games ever.KOTOR and KOTOR 2. it is basically the MMO version of KOTOR.Yes it uses an interface that is more similiar to WOW, I think everyone would agree that WOW interface is way more MMO friendly than the KOTOR's.and The KOTOR games both won best game of the year.it should be obvious that that is why bioware would make TOR, because it is a popular style

  • @jfreedan and secondly I don't need to be an expert on MMO's to participate in an debate on this post. because it is for a video about only two MMO's, WOW and TOR. which I actually have a bit of experience with. and they didn't force D&D style on a Star Wars game. because they have done it already with KOTOR. and they made enough money an won enough awards with that endeavor that it make logical sense that would continue with a popular style. it is all about the money, and they got it

  • @AngellustheAngel And btw, from all your deleted statements about WoW, which I do read, it is clear you aren't that knowledgeable about WoW or other MMORPGs; for example, City of Heroes has more quests than a character will ever need to get to max level, as does WoW. That is actually normal in an MMORPG these days and free to play ones like Atlantica Online even have over-saturation of quests.

  • Having Played both TOR and WOW, I believe it is fair to say that WOW was much like TOR when it started...good, entertaining, and plenty of room for improvement(which is obvious if you compare first gen. WOW to Cataclysm).I don't know who told this guy that TOR was going to try to dethrone WOW but he was gravely misinformed. Granted,TOR and WOW are going to be Competitors, but I would bet that, not even Bioware, thought that TOR would topple WOW. since this vid is about that, kinda makes it pointless

  • I only bring up these two fallacious statements to prove that this guy has never played TOR. If he had he would not have made such completely false statements. these two facts would have been quite apparent if he had played the game. so basically what I heard through this whole video was a WOW fanboy spouting off why he thinks a game he has never played will fail...I play TOR and it is exactly what a thought a first gen. MMO would be. good, entertaining, and plenty of room for improvement.

  • now lets address some information given in this video that is just plain false. First, every line of text in TOR is not voice acted. they have the boring Text boxes quests just like WoW does...the majority of Quests are voice acted, true, but this video falsely states that the entire game is voice acted. Also, There is no auto-attack in this game and he clearly states, when he is rattling on about how clone-ish this game is, that the game has auto-attack.

  • Also, NO ONE expects TOR to overtake WOW...not anytime soon at least...and if it ever did, that would be years and years away...TOR is a baby game, it's brand new and shouldn't be expected to be perfect...I don't see it going away anytime soon tho...mostly because it's fan base is huge...Star Wars Fans+Scifi Fans+Fans of the multiple Game of the Year award winning Developer, Bioware=decent size fan base...I see it being big enough to hold TOR over Till Bioware gets a handle on their MMO...

  • Ok, now let's talk about how ludicrous it is to compare a brand new MMO to a Veteran MMO...First Gen WOW was extremely different than it is today. do you think they didn't have bugs and glitches when it first came out...you'd be wrong...WOW has been perfecting itself for years. it is an unfair comparison. ALL MMO's HAVE ISSUES WHEN THEY START...the trick is for the MMO to develop a big enough fan base to hold them over till they work out the kinks and get the game running well...

  • @AngellustheAngel It is not unfair to compare two PRODUCTS (and that is what they are; commercial products, not gifts from the gods) together to see which offers a better value. Any new products that challenge an existing product with a large market value must offer equal or superior service. That is the way markets work. So get over it, fanboy.

  • @jfreedan

Name me one MMO that launched with more endgame content than SWTOR. That's right, none. A new MMO simply will not have as many raids as WoW does now, as WoW's had 7 years' worth of expansions and updates. SWTOR's got a good amount of content for an MMO that just launched, more than any other MMO ever did at launch AFAIK. And stop calling everyone who enjoys the game a "fanboy."

  • @darthvader7888 SW:TOR has 7 days worth of content. That's how long it takes someone who actually plays the game to get to the highest level, where there is no end-game content. At launch, WoW at least challenged players for a few months before they made it to level 60. And again, we don't make excuses for a product having less features than a more established product. Imagine if this was a car. The electric car failed in the market cause it couldn't compete with gas cars.

  • @jfreedan

    No endgame content?

2 raids (1 will have 4 bosses added to it this week), each with 8-man and 16-man modes, and 3 difficulties.

    15 Heroic flashpoints.

An entire planet dedicated to world pvp.

    etc.

Pretty good for an MMO that just launched. Again, name me one MMO that launched with more endgame content than SWTOR. Like I said before, an MMO simply isn't going to have as many raids at launch as WoW does now.

  • @darthvader7888 Oh excuse me. SW:TOR has one raid, which was cleared 2 weeks after the game launched. Such amazing end-game content indeed! And BTW- WoW had 2 world bosses, 2 pvp battlegrounds and several raids at launch. And the content it now has is indeed a major advantage it has over other MMORPGs.

  • @jfreedan

SWTOR has 2 raids, and one's getting 4 more bosses later this week. And Eternity Vault hasn't been cleared on nightmare mode yet (on 8-man or 16-man modes). SWTOR has 3 bgs (warzones), not to mention a planet dedicated to world pvp, and SWTOR has way more world bosses than 2. Oh, and WoW only had 2 raids at launch (which didn't have multiple difficulty modes, unlike SWTOR's raids).

So yes, the amount of endgame content in SWTOR is good for a launch MMO.

  • @darthvader7888

Oh, and lets not forget the 15 hard mode flashpoints that you could do at level 50.

  • @darthvader7888 I think you need to try Googling "eternity vault nightmare mode"

  • @jfreedan

the only people who beat Eternity Vault on nightmare mode did so before the fix. Before the fix, nightmare mode was the same as hard mode. Since the fix, no one has been able to clear eternity vault on nightmare mode. Hell, I hear Soa is literally impossible to beat on nightmare mode.

  • @darthvader7888 There are livestreams on Twitch.tv of people clearing it on Nightmare mode, posted yesterday. Stop acting like you are some kind of expert on the game, it's clear you're a fanboy who is going ballistic that someone might possibly say something negative about the game. You are not the first person who has rushed to defend their favorite game without checking their facts first. Go see my CoH review.

  • @jfreedan

First of all, stop calling anyone who likes the game a fanboy. If anything, you're the hater who is going ballistic that someone might possibly say something positive about the game. If the game really sucked as much as you say it does, then it wouldn't have an 86 on metacritic, or a 9.0 on IGN. Nor would it have 2 million players less than 3 weeks after release. You've yet to name me one MMO that had more endgame content at release than SWTOR (like I said, WoW didn't).

  • Comment removed

  • @jfreedan in order to make a MMO that is as established as WOW would probably take 8 years to develop and start with a lvl cap of 85. that is the only way for it to have the same amount of content. that is not a very realistic way to produce an MMO and what development company would staff a team for that long before getting a "possible" payoff when it releases. NO DEVELOPER CAN AFFORD A PROJECT LIKE THAT. and you can't say that TOR isn't competing with WOW. because it is currently.

  • @AngellustheAngel Actually, another way would have been to not devote so much time to voice acting every line of dialogue or making an MMORPG that is entirely on rails. They could have tried making a sandbox MMORPG, not an MMORPG that plays like a single player game.

  • Comment removed

  • I only mention these things about TOR and fans to make the point that there is a definite draw to this MMO because it is not a fantasy based MMO and Star Wars Fans participate in anything that has the logo on it...does it resemble wow? yes. but why not. why not emulate the king of MMO's in order for yours to be a success. the artistic style is completely it's own and it is similar enough and different enough that I can see WoW fans enjoying it.

  • one more thing about elves...not only were they the only druids, but only Male elves were druids...so obviously warcraft panders to there fans and changes the lore and world just so both factions can have the same classes. and while we are talking about fans, lets talk about star wars fans...star wars fans are fanatical about star wars...and star wars fans are extremely dedicated...I'm not a fanatic, but I enjoy TOR just for a change of scenery...I have been looking forward to a scifi MMO for'ev

  • so many things wrong about this video...have you even played TOR...the fact that Jedi are using double bladed light sabers is mute point...so they changed a tiny bit of lore...wtf cares...the World of Warcraft lore has been changed constantly to balance WOWs gameplay...for instance Elves were supposed to be the only ones who could be druids...and why the hell is Thrall (an Orc Shaman) the Guardian of Tistfal when this title has always be held by an Elf Druid.

  • @AngellustheAngel I just want to point out you don't know your WoW lore very well. Go play the original Warcraft games or some of the BC content. There is this dude called Medivh, a Guardian of Tirisfal, you've obviously never heard of, nor his mom Aegwynn. And there is nothing inherently special about Druid powers that means only male night elves could ever be one. It has to do more with religion than anything else, as their powers are derived from patron deities.

  • SWTOR got a 9.0 on IGN, and an 86 on metacritic (not one reviewer gave it less than 80). Not to mention it already has 2 million players, only 3 weeks after launch. SWTOR will be fine as long as Bioware updates and adds new content frequently enough, and there have already been shitloads of patches, plus a major patch coming up (which adds a new flashpoint (dungeon) and 4 new bosses to one of the raids), less than 3 weeks after launch, so it seems to me that that won't be a problem..

  • shut up and get skyrim

simple forget all the online bullcrap and just get skyrim

  • One of your arguments is very flawed. The Star Wars wiki even states that a lot of Jedi used them, even around the time they were made.

  • @XxEyesightxX "The Star Wars wiki said so" is a terrible argument. Anyone can edit it and put whatever they want. If I'm pointing to the original comic books where the concept of a double-bladed lightsaber was invented, you need to point to something equally reliable. Double-bladed lightsabers are associated with the dark side because it is a weapon of intimidation.

  • @jfreedan Can you first site these comic books? The people I tried to argue your argument with, would not take anything less than proof in the comics. Also Star Wars is proof checked by Lucas Arts, I'm fairly certain George Lucas wouldn't let anyone edit in a bad way.

  • @XxEyesightxX I did cite them, in this video. As for SW retcons, dude, the extended universe has tons of retcons. The movies have retcons. My criticism of the retcons here is because they were done to make the SW universe conform to DikuMUD gameplay. DikuMUD is based off D&D, which was for simulating pulp fantasy novels. SW was designed to emulate sci-fi adventure fiction, like Flash Gordon.

  • TOR just got a 9/10 on IGN you mad TOR haters.

  • @caveman1026 Why should I give a crap what IGN's reviewers think? They also gave a 9/10 to Warhammer Online

  • @jfreedan keep crying nerd

  • @jfreedan Ha good come back, i will say that TOR can start off well and maybe crash later like rift, and war hammer. I'll keep my mouth shut for about a year and come back to this and say if this video was wrong or not. All i can say for now is i am loving the game and i hope that this game will get even better over time.

  • @caveman1026

TOR'll probably be fine as long as Bioware updates and adds new content frequently enough. And they're already releasing a major patch (that introduces 4 new bosses for Karagga's palace, plus a new flashpoint), and it hasn't even been 3 weeks since SWTOR came out. So updates and new content shouldn't be a problem.

  • @jfreedan why should I give a crap what jfreedan thinks...he critics games that he has never played...

  • The game is tits

  • One simple solution: Guild Wars 2

WARNING: Please only reply if you know what GW2 truly is!

  • LOL..... I know there's WOW, AION and EVE online too biatch but SWTOR is the only paid MMO me and my crew gonna play. Say what cha like honky, we roll with collector's edition.

  • WOW content is fucking old. after 7 years you can really say that you love wow. granted it just lunched. but yes. please have all the WOW slaves ruin another game bc they can't wait for time to progress. So face it, re skinned bosses, Pandas and Poke' mon, 7 years wow has lost its thunder. I'm not saying swtor will kill it. that only thing that can kill WOW is WOW. and it has been since cata. But troll on about SWTOR bc its a new mmo. FUCKING fanboys

  • @GetNtheVaniHazCandy

Now the companies care more about making a profit and casualising games to appease the masses , rather than trying to create challenging, unique, and altogether good games. For example, the Call of Duty franchise. Note the word "franchise."

  • DRONES GONNA DRONE

  • @GetNtheVaniHazCandy

I remember a time when gamers were lumped into the nerd category. But then little shits like you decided it was cool, and ruined the industry.

  • HAHAHA "wow had no end game when it came out" argument. Newsflash children: players didn't hit lvl60 4 days after they created their character. Not to mention MC and Ony were there from the start.

Sry, but WoW will be the king for years to come.

  • Oh god hahaha Biodrones gonna Biodrone hahaha!

  • @CobaltIsNotReal

lol? The reason I didn't state my reasons is because all that this guy says is crap.

Simple as this: "The Sith shouldn't have healers, because they're Sith." ????? WTF?! He's forgetting that this is a game, not a book. It's a MMORPG, you need healers on both sides. I do agree that SWTOR won't kill WOW, but not because of this crap!

  • @OngitoFeliz

There are plenty of other options for a healing class. They don't have to destroy the integrity/canon of a constructed universe.

  • Dragon age "Or-ridge-ens"

  • just w8 3-4 months and u will see the players return to wow.....

  • 10:46 - 11:16 so true :)

  • Actually this video just sucks all around. There's a lot of shit wrong with TOR that you could've chosen to talk about but nitpicking on the lore and things like healing mechanics/double bladed lightsabers is retarded. Why would the Jedi Council "despise" what's basically their weapon x2? It's stupid. You're stupid.

  • The reviewer is an idiot. Lucas didn't create Star Wars as we know it so much as had a crummy idea that was refined by people who knew better. The things you say he "allowed" to go to shit later on? That's all GEORGE FUCKING LUCAS. The man was a hack from the fucking start.

  • While I agree with your points, it hurts my teeth listening to your mispronunciation of words. Please do some proofing before you upload a video, edit and fix things. But otherwise, solid video which I can for the most part agree with..

  • How did you manage to mispronounce "Origins?"

  • Seems like its been reasonably stable and successful at launch, but launch numbers isnt really the true test of an mmo's success. Its the number of people playing it 6 months down the line.
