Wow, this edit rather works. The whole climax with Anakin turning actually seems wholly organic rather than simply having to happen (and for no good reason). And I far preferred that Windu's death be the motivation for the Emperor's scream, "Unlimited power!"
I was shocked at first at the exclusion of the Yoda/Sidious battle. Once removed, however, it becomes clear how superfluous and indeed counter-productive it actually was. The film plays far more dramatically without it.

Really good job, especially the last 30minutes. I've seen the Spence cut and prefer yours. As a number of people have commented perhaps a little too much was cut in your version but on the whole lots of good choices. Would love to get a good definition copy of this version. Love a good fan edit so well done.

Great job. I could actually keep track of what was happening now. Before, I always got lost with so many extra characters and long dialog scenes that seemed overly complicated like they were trying to draw a connection between the Gulf War situation and this movie. Thanks also for cutting out most of the b.s. lines too including Anakin monologging every emotion he was feeling. I felt like I was watching something closer to Empire Strikes Back than Lord of the Rings Part 12.
I'm somewhat annoyed by this edit, well maybe annoyed is the wrong word. However, some edits here I cannot understand. For example you lose the dialogue of the ships captain saying "Magnetise.. Magnetise!!" as the ship plummets to the planet yet you keep the God awful line "Another happy landing". It's choices like that which bemuse me.
@mungabba I think that awful line needs to be kept for there to be a more natural transition to the next scene. It's such a big landing, there has to be something. And since this is a re-edit, and the creator of this edit can't shoot new material, well, there you go.
jackson does a really poor job of acting n this movie imo...but one thing i can say about the new star wars is that it links people who didnt grow up w/the older 1s to that era and really brings alot of us to appreciate the older 1s much more than previously

You shouldn't have deleted the yoda vs sith battle. Yoda is the most powerful and wise Jedi, so I never really understood why he couldn't kill the sith lord himself. It also explains how powerful sith lord really is, and neither yoda or the sith lord have in any kind of fight before.
The original movie lost me at the point where Obi-wan was 'crushed' by a falling platform and was somehow spared from being split in half, or having a crushed pelvis. I'm glad this fan-edit took that out (as well as pretty much all of the over the top, overly dramatic lines)
A lot of the needless emotional pandering to Anakin's psyche was taken out as well, since in the original version he might as well been monologuing all his emotions out to the audience at every scene.

I really like how the story was streamlined in this version. Anakin isn't such a jerk the whole time, his conflict is more internalized rather than always at the surface. Obvious and forced dialog is reduced. Some people hate it but I really like how needless action scenes are trimmed for better pacing. If this were the version seen in the theater and later Lucas added in all the parts you took out, I'd say he ruined the film like he ruined the special editions of 4,5, and 6. Good Job!
@rsassault12 Some people think it's silly. It doesn't really add to the plot either. I think it's more reasonable that Yoda wouldn't go fight a man with an entire army at his beck and call anyway.
The three prequel movies were pretty bad originally, so slicing them up into a new form isn't going to do them a disservice, or anything. This at least allows me to basically see the third movie without renting anything or buying into Netflix or something. I appreciate it.
not a bad re-edit. the last fight would have been even better if after Anakin got all chopped up, you had Obi Wan simply walk away, taking Anakins light saber with him, with none of the "you where my brother dialogue"
a few of the edits make the pacing feel if anything too fast at times in contrast with the actual movies monotonous slowness, its kind of missing that perfect sweet spot that really should have been there in the first place....provided george lucas actually knew how write and direct an original screenplay. props to kerr for trying though, but the prequel trilogy probably cant be significantly improved with only a re-edit.
WTF, did some one hit Fast forward during the Jedi arrest and Mace/Palpatine fight and not notice? To be honest this is boring as it picks up no life as it skips from scene to scene. It's like the Editor had ADD and couldn't have a scene last more then a minute or two so they cut all the extra lines and shots out.
I'm 5:00 in and already I don't like the edits. the banter between Obi and Ani sets the mood and this cuts it all out and the buzz droid scene. There's no tension because they literally just fly in and own the place after that as they cut the elevator scene too. On top of that they look like dicks letting the clones get blasted and they just keep flying, not a word said. More I watch worse it gets. No goading from Palpatine to kill Dooku or leave Obi behind. It's missing all the little char bits

I really like how the story was streamlined in this version. Anakin isn't such a jerk the whole time, his conflict is more internalized rather than always at the surface. Obvious and forced dialog is reduced. Some people hate it but I really like how needless action scenes are trimmed for better pacing. If this were the version seen in the theater and later Lucas added in all the parts you took out, I'd say he ruined the film like he ruined the special editions of 4,5, and 6. Good Job!

@rsassault12 Some people think it's silly. It doesn't really add to the plot either. I think it's more reasonable that Yoda wouldn't go fight a man with an entire army at his beck and call anyway.

this was the best of the new start wars
7:32 in done here ill grab it for later
but im not hoping for much
so far its cut out the intrenal conflict anikin has with how he feels and how hes supposed to feel
i felt this was the strongest point in this movie
one couls see how this conflict caused him to fall prey to the darkside
with it gone he so far he just seems like an ass

Pretty cool.
The three prequel movies were pretty bad originally, so slicing them up into a new form isn't going to do them a disservice, or anything. This at least allows me to basically see the third movie without renting anything or buying into Netflix or something. I appreciate it.

not a bad re-edit. the last fight would have been even better if after Anakin got all chopped up, you had Obi Wan simply walk away, taking Anakins light saber with him, with none of the "you where my brother dialogue"

a few of the edits make the pacing feel if anything too fast at times in contrast with the actual movies monotonous slowness, its kind of missing that perfect sweet spot that really should have been there in the first place....provided george lucas actually knew how write and direct an original screenplay. props to kerr for trying though, but the prequel trilogy probably cant be significantly improved with only a re-edit.

WTF, did some one hit Fast forward during the Jedi arrest and Mace/Palpatine fight and not notice? To be honest this is boring as it picks up no life as it skips from scene to scene. It's like the Editor had ADD and couldn't have a scene last more then a minute or two so they cut all the extra lines and shots out.

I'm 5:00 in and already I don't like the edits. the banter between Obi and Ani sets the mood and this cuts it all out and the buzz droid scene. There's no tension because they literally just fly in and own the place after that as they cut the elevator scene too. On top of that they look like dicks letting the clones get blasted and they just keep flying, not a word said. More I watch worse it gets. No goading from Palpatine to kill Dooku or leave Obi behind. It's missing all the little char bits
