I'm a bit annoyed that they are actually showing this part. While they are doing this there is supposed to be a focus on Harry and his search for the diadem, Hermione & Ron kind of pop up out of nowhere and Hermione is all OMG RONS SO SMART I LOVE HIM. And they bring basilisk fangs to destroy the other Horcruxes. I mean whatever, as long as they don't butcher other parts like Snape's memories or Neville's badassitude in order to show this, it's cool.

@yootoobbe the reason it talked to ron so much is because it was with ron on his body for weeks or months and could tell his thoughts and feelings. then it used those doubts and such of his against him to not be killed. the cup was in their possession for just a small amount of time. and the water was caused by voldemort because he knew where it was destroyed, not the cup itself
