  • He looks sad :(

  • @brunomrs1216 You can put a smile on his face.

  • I watched the whole video

  • @GingerMyWinterWhite Thank you for watching.

  • @tjw1963 It was totally worth watching the whole video :)

  • Just want to thank you. Did one for my son and I made one for my students and they love it. Now teachers are asking to make them one. Do you think I should charge them for one, if so what is a good price?

  • what is that attachment your using?

  • i got a bit stuck when you said "put the hook through these two loops". which two loops :S

  • Can you please do a torto on how to crochet a little cinch bag?

  • I on my 5th one. I attached limbs backwards of what the video said.Didn't catch until I was sewing on eyes. I guess it doesn't hurt anything.

  • @Mamaford2 It is not going to make a difference

  • K thank you

  • Will a size 9 hook work

  • @ThePorter55 yes, you can use different size crochet hooks.

  • I am making a mainly lavendar monkey with teal where the white usually goes and pink instead of red. I am so proud that I decided to branch out from my normal crochet projects. Thanks for the video! It is helping me every step of the way!

  • Almost done with my monkey!!! :D

  • @crochetchic1 Great! Share a video response of your monkey when you are done.

  • Truly artist !!!!!

  • @Do2do2a111 Thank you.

  • I wish you didn't use white.... it makes it so hard to see....But I guess that's the challenge of the sock monkey. Thank you for posting this though

  • I accidently added a row to a leg. Do you think i can get away with it or should i add an extra row/stitch to each part? thanks

  • @liveyalife5123 An extra row is not going to hurt a thing. You could just use the one withe the extra row as the tail.

  • @tjw1963 thanks! haha im so excited to finish it

  • Love it!!! I'll be doing one this weekend:) I found a pattern for a elephant that I also want to try, but reading patterns just aren't my cup of tea. You should do a elephant video:) It just helps me TREMENDOUSLY when I can follow along with someone and work from there. That's how I did the little valentines pillow you also did! You're a great help:)

  • @ashleyyyl1 I will keep your suggestion in mind. Please share a video response when you get it finished.

  • This is boaring

  • I love your videos!! I'm pregnant and it's winter so there's not much for me to do, so I took up crocheting and your videos have helped me soo much!! I've made 2 of these monkeys so far =)

  • @greenishsnow23 Please can we see them?

  • Is there a special type of yarn for crocheting?????

  • @wizard101freakyfreak I would say that 4 ply acrylic is most common

  • Yea, ..... It's not really a SOCK sock monkey, more like a yarn monkey!!!!!

  • @wizard101freakyfreak Socks are made with some of the same fiber as yarn.

  • @tjw1963 do u use a tabistry nettle

  • @LayLay093 Yes I do use a tapestry needle

  • I really want to make this for my friend

because she is obsessed with sock monkeys!! :] ♥

  • @TVMushrooms I am too!!!

  • @wizard101freakyfreak cool! :]

  • are crochet hooks expensive??

  • @TVMushrooms Mabe two dollars for one.

  • @tjw1963 your welcome. I'll keep practicing off your vids. Can't wait to see your new projects. Also I see slot of you sending the beginners playlist? Is that the beginners stuff to do? If so, could I have the link?

  • It is a fictional japanese charecter. I have no clue what he is in as far as books or anything.... I can mail you the pattern and u can decide if it is worthy. :)

  • @kingglass565 I found a picture and put it on my project list. I need write up my own pattern but thank you for the offer.

  • Cauld you make a domo? I have a pattern but I can't follow it...

  • @kingglass565 What is a domo?

  • @kingglass565 OK, I found a picture of a Domo. He has haunted me a few times here on YouTube. I can keep a pattern in mind.

  • I love these tutorials! SO far I have made two hats, a lady bug, the mouse and now I am working in the monkey.. The books are a little too complicated for me! Thank YOu Miss for your online tutorials! Monkeys happen to be my favorite animals!

  • @MsDekonte You have been pretty busy crocheting! You will have fun with the monkey!

  • Would there be a way to modify his head into a sock monkey character hat???

  • @kristenheartnick Yes, it can be done. I have a tutorial in mind.

  • thank you Teresa for sharing your work with us. i just wanted to say that i have just finished my monkey and i chose to make the tail thiner, without stuffing it. i believe there should be a difference between the arms/legs and the tail. looks better in my opinion. thanks again!

  • Warning: Don't use crappy yarn to make epic monkey.

  • @DaddysGirl3181 What happened with your yarn?

  • @tjw1963 It was coming apart while I was crocheting. I think we got it at Dollar General.

  • Thank you SO much! My friends don't know how to crochet(I offered to teach them but that didn't happen) So they are going to buy them from me! That helps get yarn!

  • Is it normal for a crochet hook to start to squeak after alot of use?

  • @winkwinkleypoo I have found that my hook squeaks in warmer weather. It just depends on how humid and sticky your hands are. Some yarns will squeak more than others.

  • If I wanted to make the body bigger around, how would I go about doing that?? Could I add more stitches with 2 single crochets in each loop? or would I add by doing 1 single then 2 singles in the next? Thanks

  • @mskaitlynhill You will work more increase rounds to make a larger body.

  • I love all your videos!! I'm a beginner and your videos are so easy to follow! Excellent job! Thank you!

  • @mskaitlynhill You are welcome!

  • I recently saw some sock monkey hats being sold at a harvest homecoming / flea market type booth. any ideas on how to make those? any chance you would make a tutorial for something like that?

  • Aww, this is soooo Adorable! :D Are you able to make any other crochet stuffed animals? Like bunnies or puppies or kittens or pandas.. Hello Kitty? xD

  • Hi! Thanks for your video :) I was wondring if you can teach (or link to a video that teaches) how to make a sock monkey (or any animal) where the legs and body are made together as one? I'm not sure if I've explained that correctly, but I hope you understand.

  • süß

  • why does it sound funny every time you make a stich?

do you tighten your yarn a lot? -nancy

  • @supernanchita It happens with the acrylic yarn when it is humid.

  • This is cool and alll but its hard for me to actually see how your doing the stitches. I dont know how to read the written instuctions cuz i dont know the names of all the stuff.

  • @LuciferLoveit I will send you a link for the beginner crochet stitch playlist. I recommend that you become familiar with the basic stitches, try an easier project to practice and eventually try this one when you become familiar with the stitches.

  • is this how you do every arms and legs??

  • @youandimakeone The arms and legs are the same. You can adjust them larger or smaller if you would like.

  • I love this pattern. I made one in neon pink for my niece. It's going to be for her Christmas present. I think she is going to love it! Your video made it easy to follow along. Thank you again for sharing your creativity!!!

  • @sana959 Your ice cream cones are wonderful as well as your other projects.

  • thank u :D muah

  • ahhh!! i hate the squeeking!!.. D:

  • Monkey ^^ I didn't get it..Why sock??

  • @DrawingsByEhvh You will get a better idea if you do a Google image search for sock monkey. At one time people used to make a similar style monkey out of socks, that were gray with a red heel.

  • @tjw1963 Thanks. :D I got it, I checked it out. ;)

  • @tjw1963 Is there another way I can make the mouth?, because I'm not yet familiar with the foundation stitch yet.

  • @claysbaby2008 You can start with a chain of 7 instead. You will work SC, HDC, DC, DC, HDC, SC. Working down the opposite side. Work 2 single crochet in the FSC stitch. Work a HDC opposite the FHDC, work 1 DC opposite each FDC. HDC in the next, 2 SC in the last stitch, join.

  • @tjw1963 Thank you that will help alot!!

  • After working on my monkey for almost 2 days, he's certainly not as nice looking as yours, but I'm proud and I feel accomplished, thank you for the video! :)

  • @Faitharella1 I bet you monkey looks just fine. I appreciate the comment.

  • my monkey is very small what am i doing wrong thanks

  • @jenniewahid You may be using smaller yarn. The pattern can be made with a variety of size yarns.

  • Thank you for that great video. Jojos from Québec, Canada ;)

  • hi Teresa,u r amazing,thx

  • Hi, Teresa. Would you tell me what is meant by "repeat vertical". Thanks.

  • This is something you saw on crochet instructions?

  • Yes, it is. It says "Work 1 vertical repeat of M.1. This is a balero pattern that i am working on. This is for the edging.

  • @kishypoo28 I thought you were talking about the sock monkey pattern because the text was not familiar to me. I suggest that you write to the author and ask them what they mean by it. It is probably instructions unique to the pattern.

  • Hi Teresa,

This is a very weird request. But my father's birthday is coming up and he loves dogs! Is there any web sight or ANYTHING i can do to crochet an amigurumi? thanks

  • @Kakerville I do want to make a dog.

  • a great project! thanks

  • I just want to thank you so much for re- introducing crochet to me. I have developed a passion since I won your contest and having been making small projects about 5-6 per week. Now my co-workers want ME to teach a class for my "stress relief" hobby. I keep saying I'm going to make a video to show you the projects I've completed.

  • soo cute! :) thank you so much for all your videos. they are very helpful!

  • Very cool!

  • You will never believe it, but my hubby, who is as left brained and as uncrafty as you can get, decided to learn to crochet. So I'm passing on everything you taught me and he is absolutely loving every minute of it. He says that once he gets single crochet down and increase/ decrease he wants to crochet toys for our two kids. What a dream to have the love of my life interested in a hobby that means so much to me.

  • @petitepirate21 That is great to hear!

  • wow i wish i could get my man interested but he sees the hook and shivers with fear ugh lol

  • @petitepirate21 That is so cool! I'm going to teach my husband just because your story. Isn't yarn amazing? lol

  • This is so cute!

  • I've been wanting to make a sock monkey and now I can. Thanks!

  • can I download to my computer???

  • @ratsnest77 This video is not available for download.

  • @ratsnest77 You can make a lot of them.

  • So cute! I want one. =)

  • Teresa, I think I have finally figured out the FOUNDATION SINGLE CROCHET. ;-) I have been wanting to try and make a sock monkey and now am gonna try it.

  • @Elvis66 Once you get the hang of it, you will love it. It is a wonderful replacement for the chain.
