The sad part is, the CoS doesn't aim for people whom are looking for religion, but rather they use the self-help industry as their recruitment vehicle. It's easy to forget that the self help market is a billion dollar industry and books by Dr. Phil and other "therapists" fly off the shelves. That's the type of market Scientology aims for, in other words, they on purposely aim for the broken and troubled people who will pay anything for help. That's the most troubling part.

If you ever have time you should look into "Operation Snow white". Operation Snow white is basically how the Co$ won their status to be called a religion in the US. During Operation Snow white the Co$ committed the largest case of domestic espionage in our government's history. Co$ spent millions of dollar to sue and fight the IRS for about a decade. With lawsuits and espionage they beat the IRS into submission. That's how they gained their "religious" status.
