I ordered this phone a couple days ago off the T-Mobile website and got it absolutely free. Great deal for a great phone. I'm hoping to get it pretty soon. Right now I have the very first MyTouch, and it barely worked for 2 years (I don't know if that is a long time to have a phone). I am exited to see what 4G can do for me! :)
I like the cool graphics on the sensation such as those on the weather widget, but i also like the simplicity of the G2x. i like both phones but i can't decide which one is better. i'll be using it mainly for texting and web surfing. which one do you recommend?
@SwaGamer I prefer the Sensation for a couple of reasons. First, I like HTC's Sense, although it's perfectly understandable if you don't. Second, I like the higher resolution of the Sensation's display. Just a couple of thoughts...
@SwaGamer ....pick something else if you want reliability. This phone is horrible (I've been using it for 6 months). The sensation is a great phone but only has 1 gig of storage on it. So don't count on downloading too many apps from the market. IMO, you'd be much happier with either the Galaxy S2 or the Amaze 4g. Check them out and try to steer clear of this defective piece of garbage.
@wirefly hey bob can you do a new review with the g2x with the gingerbread update? no one has really done a good one yet that i can find. it would be awesome if u could find the time to do that. thanks
@bufbarnaby hell yeah thats because nvidia does great gpu's on the pc so they know what it takes to make a badass gpu vs samsung that does ok but not as good. its nice to see someones gpu finally beat out samsungs gpu. lol
Do not buy these phones! Most of them out there are defective! Neither lg or tmobile are saying anything about this problem. There is a rumor that the gingerbread update will fix this, but it's doubtful. The problem might be in the hardware and not the software. If you already bought one from tmobile and still have the warranty, get your money back or a different phone!
@vincent8er The carriers (such as T-Mobile) have HUGE overhead for their stores. That real estate and those employees cost LOTS of money. Wirefly has no retail stores and many fewer employees, so our overhead is much lower. We can pass the savings on to you, and the carriers are just fine with that - they don't want to build more stores and hire more employees. You receive the phone from Wirefly but pay the monthly bill to the carrier.
@vincent8er If you don't feel comfortable using Wirefly, then you shouldn't do it. I can say that Wirefly has a 30-day money back policy. If you don't like the deal within 30 days, you can get your money back. But I understand... I didn't know how it worked before I got here, and it's not always the easiest thing to explain.
@abnormalgroup I've loaned the LG G2x to a co-worker, who has been using it heavily for three weeks. He says that he gets through the day without recharging, but recharges it every night.
Overall, he loves the G2x: great voice quality, nice screen and really fast response. And he's coming from a T-Mobile G2.
@hualni You can definitely use the LG G2x as a WiFi hotspot and it works well. I don't understand your question about the "2 GB of 4G speed"... if you get a 10 Gbps downlink, you can theoretically pass all of that along to the connected WiFi devices.
@wirefly My question is in regards to "Unlimited Data Includes 2GB @ 4G Speeds". On T-Mobile's site, they have this... "Unlimited data: 2 GB of high-speed data, then reduced speeds after that. If you use up your high-speed data, we will automatically reduce your speeds for the rest of your billing cycle. That means you are always connected and will never have to worry about overages." I am wondering if the 2 GB "clock" is running when you are using a laptop or a tablet with the 4G speed.
@wirefly One final question. Will the G2x connect to the internet via WiFi if a WiFi connection is available? And will it connect automatically or do you have to disable the 3G/4G settings?
@hualni Yes, the G2x will definitely connect to a WiFi network for Internet access, even when 3G/4G signals are available. If WiFi is active, it will default to WiFi for Internet. If you have WiFi active and if the G2x has the password remembered, the G2x will connect automatically.
@hualni the g2x is a mobile hotspot for up to 5 devices. it uses the best connection that your service and phone can attain. I'm pulling 4g speeds with the g2x. The phone is actually faster than my wi-fi internet connection.
@Birdcage67554 Wirefly has been around for years and has a 30-day satisfaction guaranty... and we pay the shipping back to us if you are not satisfied. We're in the US (in Virginia) and have 250 videos here on YouTube. I'm a journalist and published author, with more than 350 articles in magazines.
@Birdcage67554 I know. I was going to upgrade for $150, but Wirefly asked for some personal info and there was no secure connection lock at the bottom of my screen. Wirefly only offered the $30 data plan but I only need the $15 as I mostly use wifi.
@proteanview It's true that Wirefly doesn't offer all the plans that the carriers have. We do have all the plans that the carrier allows us to have. The bottom line is that you can get a $15 plan from the carrier, but you'll pay a lot more for the phone. If that works out better for you, we all understand.
I saw some reviews about this phone with cons which includes screen bleeding and occasional rebooting pls I wana know if this issues really exist or was it that their phones were faulty
Bob I live in Canada and I love to get this phone unlocked how much is gonna cost getting it unlocked without any contract including the shipping rate
@UKnoM3LuVU At the moment, the T-Mobile G2x is $149.99 if you renew/upgrade an existing contract. However, prices change all the time, so you should check on Wirefly when you're ready to do the deal. It's easy to check.
@SunDaygoPinoy I haven't tried the G2x as a music player but can test that next week when I'm back in the office. In general, I find that cellphones are loud enough for headphones, but are kinda weak when plugged into the aux jack of a stereo system (such as in a car).
Any shot that when doing reviews on phones, you can do a shot of using the phone outside in the sun? I've noticed that it's hit and miss with these phones in terms of visibility in the sun. I have the Droid Incredible, and it becomes virtually unusable in daylight. I find I'm having to turn, twist around, and relocat to a shaded area (if using my body isn't working) in order to see my display.
@robertmchapman30 I use most of these phones outside to shoot some video, so that would be a good time to mention the visibility. There's probably some variation between two of the same model phones, however. Otherwise, there's no convenient way for me to show what the screen look like in the daylight. I will try to comment more about that in the videos, however.
@wirefly Thanks. I use a golf gps app, and in the sun, my phone is worthless. My buddy has the Samsung Fascinate. His phone makes my phone feel more mediocre than incredible. Anyway. A quick mention to this would be very helpful for I will make future decisions based on daylight visibility. Thanks
Man tmobile is being freaken stingy with this phone. They keep blowing smoke up my a** about upgrading to this phone!! How can I get them to strike a deal with me!?
@chewyourfingers Have you tried seeing what kind of a deal you can get through Wirefly? Go to Wirefly.com and take a look there. If you still have questions, call an agent at 800-552-9000. Might as well give it a try.

@wirefly thanks for the response. One quick question I have is on the incredible 2 is the HTC hub feature disabled as it on the thunderbolt? Thanks in advance
@thugnizzle03 There is no app or widget for HTC Hub, so I think it's not on the DROID Incredible 2. It's for watching video, right? If so, Verizon has it's own video services on the Incredible 2.
@thugnizzle03 Well, we can't talk too much about it. It was go for launch, then it wasn't. We still expect that the video will be up again in a few days, as well as more content about the Incredible 2. FWIW, the Incredible 2 is in my shirt pocket as I write this.
@saud555555 We don't have any word on the Samsung Galaxy S2, except that it will be coming in the fuzzy future. We have no information on release dates and cost... sorry.
Bob, I'm about to upgrade my phone in may . Should I get the tmobile G2X or wait for the HTC sensation ? I'm looking for good battery life n a lot memory . ;) which should I get !?
@angel11991 I have both of them on my desk at the moment, oddly enough. The Sensation is a pre-production model and its software is not complete. I really like the Sensation's bigger (4.3-inch) screen and 540 x 960 resolution, and it also has Android 2.3. On the other hand, tests I've done with both phones show that the T-Mobile G2x is considerably more powerful. This might be because of the unfinished software, however.
@eezapata2 Don't tell anyone, but I have the Sensation on my desk right now. Unfortunately, we can't release any information on it until we get the go-ahead from HTC and T-Mobile. I can say that I'm very impressed with my first look at the phone.

@TheBlueAngel31 The T-Mobile G2x is definitely not qHD resolution (540 x 960). The G2x is 480 x 800 resolution, which was mentioned (with on-screen graphics) in the review.
