Forrest Hylton seems well informed, since he has most likely been in Bolivia and witnessed the current events, but humbly, I would suggest that Evo is more careful than 'afraid' to use force as a sign that he is willing to be a patient leader in the face of a dire threat. The right wing governors are throwing a tantrum right now, and Evo is waiting for it to pass. Some must question the loss of lives, but I think it will hopefully keep the crisis from becoming a civil war.

What are you talking about??? Most of the Venezuelean media is extremely anti-Chavez. Chavez stays in power in spite of the media, not because of it.

Like it or not, Chavez and Morales are in office because they are popular and have the support of a large majority of the population. Whatever wrongs they have done (none to speak of as far as I'm concerned) are dwarfed by the actions of the guys in Washington.

Evidently you have not kept up on Venezuela. It is now a crime for the media to criticize Chavez. What few anti Chavez media stations that were left now are much more quiet since they risk losing their liscenses to operate if they speak out.

Fact - It is a crime to publicly criticize Chavez in the media.
