  • He straightarmed him mid air. And since Olajuwon was already underneath the basket.

  • Who gives a fuck if the Suns lost the game. Appreciate the dunk you fucking retards. KJ dunked on one of the greatest shot blockers ever. Like always, stupid ass faggots miss the point of the video

  • that was a nice dunk, but guess what Rockets won the game hahaha !

  • So what ! they lost that game and the series.....

  • He got dunked on by the mayor of Sacramento haha.

  • but a year later kevin suffered the most embarrasing block of all time courtesy of hakeem.

  • Olajuwon's block occurred the same year, 1994.

  • dont forget the block that Hakeem did on him though. It was 100 times better than this

  • It's much easier for a seven-footer to block a 6'1" guy than for a 6'1" guy to jam on a seven-footer.

  • nastiest dunk of all time

  • At least Hakeem has some class unlike LeBron who tried 2 cover up that dunk. Jordan crawfords dunk was not that bad.

  • great dunk but he got it because of his speed and quickness. KJ barely got off the ground and caught Hakeem off guard. Earlier in KJ's career he was a better jumper.

  • i'm pretty sure every posterization happens because the dunker was much quicker and had more speed going to the basket than the shot blocker

  • Not always sometimes they just outjump the shot blocker's height advantage. Jordan'sfamous dunk of Ewing in the 1992 playoffs was a slightly different case. Michael actually took off before Ewing did. Ewing actually reached the height of his jump and was starting to fall back down but michael kept going higher and dunked it over him.

  • Barely got off the ground? It's as if K.J. climbed to the top of the world and Olajuwon wasn't caught off-guard at all. He saw and read the play all the way (see a different video angle), but K.J.'s combination of speed and elevation trumped the Dream.

  • Great dunk. I think they lost that series though. Oh yeah, they did. : )

  • K.J. still averaged 26.6 points and 9.7 assists in the series.

  • it reminds me of baron davis dunk in the playoffs

  • Rare poster on Hakeem :\

  • That's our mayor..

  • This is one of the best dunks ever. Hakeem was the greatest center and shotblocker of the 90s, but KJ got him on that one.

  • that was sum dirty dirty dunkin!

  • kevin said that he's going to try to dunk on hakeem, he dont care if its a charge or block bec his team was getting blown out i think. he just wanna dunk on the world greatest shot blocker. :D

  • The Suns were down, but the game wasn't a blow-out. Phoenix was trailing 96-85 with over two minutes remaining, and K.J.'s dunk and subsequent free throw on the three-point play made the score 96-88. However, Kenny Smith then hit a three-point jumper on the other end to return Houston's lead to eleven. K.J. promptly buried a trey of his own to again cut the Rockets' lead to eight (99-91), but Houston held on to win 107-96 despite a second consecutive game of 38 points and 12 assists by K.J.

  • In short, he dunked on Olajuwon because he and the Suns were desperate and he was playing furiously in trying to bring his team back and prevent the Suns from completely blowing a 2-0 series lead.

  • Ultimately, of course, the Suns lost as Charles Barkley and Dan Majerle combined to shoot 9-31 (.290) from the field, after shooting 14-37 (.378) in Game Three. For the two games in Phoenix, Barkley and Majerle thus combined to shoot 23-68 (.338) from the field, including 5-23 (.217) on threes.

  • K.J., meanwhile, averaged 38.0 points, 12.0 assists, 3.5 rebounds, and a 3.0:1.0 assists-to-turnover ratio in the two games, shooting 27-56 (.482) from the field, 3-5 (.600) on threes, and 19-21 (.905) from the foul line.

  • thank you worlds official score book of past nba knowledge

  • but hey he gots the balls to challenge hakeem and made a dunk over The Dream..

  • @JapanezeSportsTune And those balls were cut off when the Suns and KJ lost to The Dream and Rockets two years in a row. Not to mention once coming back from 3-1. I think Hakeem got the last laugh... TWICE!!!!

  • haha gj kevin but go watch the other wid where hakeem blocked him!!!!!!!!!

  • Haha Dream is so good...it takes huge balls to try to rise up on him. Props to KJ

  • Back when the NBA was in its prime. :)

  • who gives a fuck wut tha situation wuz kj dunked on one of tha greatest blockers of all tyme so juz enjoy tha fuckin sport nd stop hatin on kj or hakeem cuz diz shyt happenz so juz fuckin enjoy it nd stop arguin!

  • lol kevin jhonsons is known for dunking on the best of all time. here on hakeem.. he dunked also on jordan pippen shaq the admiral and many more lol

  • hakeem was in foul trouble. . . and he got him back with a big block btw

  • how can people call bill russell the best shotblocker/defensive center ever over hakeem after watching this clip? ain't no 6 footer in bill russell's day had this sort of jumping ability to take it over a 7 footer. russell blocked almost entirely layup artists at the guard spot. i am sure as hell no 6ft. pg had these kinda 'ups' in the 60s. hakeem best ever.

  • Only guy to dunk on Hakeem face up.

  • KJ's running for mayor of my town, sacramento lol

  • and he won!

  • @fzak47 Sacramento haha.. I once heard the Rock of the WWE sing.. "I might take a plane, I might take take a train..How can you people live here you must be insane, and I will be sure to come back when the Lakers beat the Kings in May".

KJ and Suns are just losers... One dunk... big deal try beating the Rockets.. Oh wait you cant. 2 yeas in a row and once up 3-1 and lost.

  • I respect Olajuwon, but U gotta obmit he got own on that play!

  • This was just a great dunk on The Dream by KJ. If you can't admit that, then you're a fanboy.

  • Damm, HOUSTON owned PHOENIX in 94 and 95. Im not a Rockets fan, but the 1 1/2 years when Jordan was out (before he tore it up from 96 to 98 nba seasons) was the most competitive basketball I can remember.

  • i remember this this was great times

  • yeah, but hakeem embarassed and killed him, with that famous nasty block later. kevin was about 2 inches from dunking on an opened field and 1 second later the ball was in the stands and johnson was literly in the floor on his ass. revenge is best served cold and raw!!!!!!

  • true

  • saw this game live back in the day...seems like the suns always lost to the rockets in the mid-90s playoffs. i'm not sure if this was the robert horry game when he hit like 6 3's in 4 minutes when rockets trailed by 20 in the 4th....

if there's ever a spud webb dunkin over a shaq in a game, then the kj over mark eaton dunk is the closest to that

  • I was a little kid, when this happened....it was amazing then and amazing now.....KJ was nasty.

  • I remember this game...hakeem was in foul trouble, KJ couldnt have done that in his wildest dreams if dream wasn't

  • The only dream was hakeems nightmare. KJ absolutely lambasted his old ass.

  • you're a joke...All these guys are gonna have their moments,KJ was 1 of the best in the world and he dunked on Dream-who happens to be the greatest shot blocker of all time you idiot....guess who is the only player from Jordan's era to have a winning record over AIR??? Olajuwon!!! fact is-even if Jordan didn't retire-Dream probably still gets those titles-Air dunked on Dream also-but more often-Dream made Mikee eat Mr. Spalding-Mike had lots of problems facing the greatest center of the last 25y

  • Olajuwon had four fouls at the time and there were only a little more than two minutes left in the game. He wasn't in foul trouble.

Also, Olajuwon had just blocked three shots in the previous few minutes.

  • Dude....he fouled him anyway and tried to block the shot.

I'm surprised Hakeem didn't DIE on that play.

    Awesome.

  • thats kj son, he dunked over the dream

  • one of those moments you hate as a rockets' fan....at least we got those bastards in the end lol

  • I remember when this happened me and my cousin were YELLIng on top of the couch. It was AMAZING.

  • holy crap! what a twist!

  • smile....you're on a poster

  • LOL at the guy in suns jumpsuit jumping like a mad man on the sidelines.

  • HA HA

  • yeah, i remember that one. one of the greatest dunks small man over a big man, ever highlighted in the history of the nba. hakeem averages, i repeat AVERAGES 4.5 blocks per game. I believe his career highest like 14+ blocks in a game.

  • Yea we all knew who had the last laugh in that playoff series or should i say 2 playoff series

  • ownage

  • nice

  • this is inspiring.this was a great era in basketball.

  • Huge dunk but the block Olajuwon did on KJ is a much better play. Olajuwon really killed him on that plays, payback bitch!

  • KJ and Tom Chambers were the best players on our team for years and one of the best EVER on our team. During the early nineties, He wasa def. one of the premier pointguads in the league and it is a shame he never won a championship. '93 was OUR YEAR (but John Paxon HAD to be a dick!)

  • but john paxon had to be a dick.... lol! dude u made my night!

  • kevin johnson sucks if he was that good he would of stuck around a few more years trying to win a nba title you morons

  • dude he played for like 12 years. how long is someone supposed to stick around on a bad team to win a title?

  • you make no sense fag

  • kevin johnson was force to retire because of injuries... and something about really bad leg cramps..

  • who would u rather have in their prime kevin johnson or nash?

  • either would be great! so,it would depend on what my team needed... if a needed a shooter it would be steve nash... if i already had shooters than kevin johnson because he better and quicker than iverson at gettin to the basket.

  • Are you outta your mind?

he left to be more active with his church and charitable events. he still had that much game that they asked him to come back out of retirement.

  • Lol, stop being in denial. Nobody, and I mean nobody retires from playing in NBA to be more active in a church or charitable events...

  • KJ the best small danker of the history of nba, remember the dunk over hotrod williams of the cavs

  • Also could you get worse video quality? I mean seriously.

  • I didn't post the video.

  • I didn't post the video.

  • Who said I was talking to you? If I was talking to you I would have replied in your thread.

  • Well, I received an e-mail message stating that you'd replied to me in making that post. Plus, you seemed to have some sort of negative vibe going towards me.

    Calm down, dude.

Bottom line: Olajuwon and K.J. were two great players and competitors and probably the two best players of the '94 and '95 playoffs.

  • Also could you get worse video quality? I mean sriously.

  • I think this is 93-94 coz Vernon Maxwell was still on the team b4 he got cut

  • Correct, it was Game Four of the 1994 Western Conference Semifinals. For the second game in a row, K.J. went for 38 points and 12 assists.

  • You're a total moron.

  • KJ is gay! Oh Yeah, Nice Elbow! Offensive foul, ain't no other way to dunk on him! Thats why ya'll cant find nothing else! So sad thats his only highlight.

  • Olajuwon fouled him, hence the call.

  • Olajuwon raked K.J. across the face on his way up. You're obviously a childish fool if you call someone "gay" as an insult, and K.J. was one of the greatest point guards in NBA history. There are other highlights of him on this site and you're obviously embarrassed that he humilitated your favorite player. Now go jump off a cliff ...

  • they still lost

  • Yeah and Hakeem still sent back one of his shots in a very famous block too.

  • 7'0" Olauwon is supposed to block 6'1" K.J. 6'1" K.J. is not supposed to dunk on 7'0" Olajuwon.

    Nice try.

Oh, and Olajuwon's block came in the regular season, whereas K.J.'s dunk came in the playoffs.

  • Hakeem averaged 33.0 ppg in those playoffs (this is 95 right they played in 94 & 95), so I feel good for the midget he had a little moment of sunshine. Hakeem dominated that series and that whole playoffs. See his Wikipedia page for his stats in those playoffs. BTW Hakeem HOF lock KJ zero chance.

  • I know that Olajuwon dominated. He's one of the ten greatest basketball players ever and I have all the respect in the world for him. Are you so insecure that you can't give any respect to K.J., who was a HoF-caliber point guard regardless of whether he actually makes it?

  • In the '94 and '95 playoffs versus Houston, K.J. also dominated, averaging 27.2 points and 9.6 assists in the 14 games versus the Rockets. Olajwuon was the best player in basketball in both of those playoff seasons, but K.J. might have been the second-best.

I advise you to read Olajuwon's autobiography, "Living the Dream," to see what he says about K.J.

  • Does he ssy that he felt bad when he sent back his wide open layup?

  • Olajuwon never mentions that play.

  • That was sarcasm I have the book. Johnson was very good, Hakeem was great. Let me prove it too: in one part in that book Hakeem talks about he was almost kidnapped, he talks about how hard it was to get a Visa at the time in Nigeria, and he talks about a guy he knew only as "Big Man" who was a real good center in Nigeria when he was young.

  • Midget? He's 6 '1 probably taller then you, or close to your height.

  • NASTY Dunk!!

  • Word to mother B
