I think in 1981 bands like Gang of Four, Adam & the Ants, Damned, Warsaw etc came up with a pop attitude in song writing. Their energy was humoristic, full with sarcasm & melancholic emotions. This song: no hook, no humour. This is what it makes so 90ties and boring. It's only sense of existence is to be "hard", to be Alec Empire,to be Ex-ATR.

Totally agree with you, I mean music isn't really about how loud you can play. Least not to me anyway. NIN has intelligence to it as well as way more energy. Alec Empire's ok but he has to pose all the time to make up for the lack of real attitude. NIN's music speaks for itself; March of the Pigs or pretty much any track by Trent Reznor makes Alec bow down and grovel at the feet of a superior musician.
