Here is the reality of what we saw. The robber/bad guy has already demonstrated he is willing to kill & in all likelyhood, the moment the guy tried to get up out of the chair, he would have been shot. Now on the otherhand, the guy that got up from teh chair didn't have any other recourse but to do what he did. However he took to long doing it. What should have happened was that as soon as he got into range he should have been proactive & done something & not talk any longer.
If you actually look at the disarm he leaves his entire torso and head within the line of fire while doing the "disarm", the robber was also rather panicked so if this were to be in reality the strikes and other variables in this would get the customer shot. Great way to defend yourself.
Why is the Badguy shooting the employee first and asking the customer where the safe is? Should have kept the employee alive and shot the customer first.
yeah maybe not totally realistic but still better then knowing nothing, but i suggest listening to the dude with a gun, police will help you. Being smart is not cowardly.

Well, actually when you train this technique if you hold onto the gun tight you can end up with a broken finger. Notice he is holding with finger out of trigger. It only takes one time to learn not to put finger in trigger guard. But this technique is really for gun to face, not lower as shown here, there is a different one for this position.
It just that when you pull the gun up while the guy is holding it and while you try to snatch it, you can run the risk of the trigger being pulled and it could shoot you or him......
What your supposed to do is wedge the space between your thumb and index finger behind the trigger so he can't pull a shot, or be so fast he can't pull a shot fast enough (first one suggested)
Because, if he shoots while you are holding the slide of the weapon, the cartridge wont be ejected and new round wont get into the chamber. It means that the weapon will be jammed. To fix the weapon you have to pull the slide manualy. Also you should push in the magazine before moving the slide, because during the disarming you may trigger a magazine safety.

It's a bit mad, a wad can kill, but if you can get yourself to act around live fire it will sure give you an edge, you don't get that with airsoft, but you won't get hearing loss with airsoft. There are no easy gigs.
Glen, I strongly recommend you to use Airsoft pistols instead of salva bullets for training. Remember that Brandom Lee died of one shot because the production of a movie belived that that pistol (the one that killed Brandom) was of salva. Airsoft are better because one can shoot like in real life in a safer way. And you can also tell if your training is working or not, by feeling if the BB bullet hit you or not.

Now as far as the actual gun disarm and everything that happens after that point, good video. There is a lot that is not addresed though that really needs to be.
Second, why would he let someone get that close to him. Glen's character is literally allowed to just walk right up to a range where he can easily disarm the gunman. Criminals aren't stupid, you need to honestly ask yourself if you would allow someone to just walk up to you if you were holding a gun to them, especially if you just shot someone else without any warning.
In the coming weeks I will try and piece some of it together so you can get an idea of some real criminals in action. Criminals are not that smart. Just think of the recent case where the guys robbed a bank in the US. They had Australian accents and robbed the bank that they used as a customer and got caught because the staff knew who they were because of their accents.
Hi cqcchief, yes I know that there are some stupid criminals out there, but it's a mistake to believe that they're all stupid because of a handful of examples. My point was that the gunman uses the gun as a weapon in the first instance, meaning there was no warning, and basically no chance for the person to defend against it.
However, for some reason he then decides to use the gun as a threat and for some reason allows the other person to walk right up to him to where he is in danger of being disarmed. If he were smart/sadistic enough to just shoot the first person, he would have done the same to the second. The video didn't provide any reason would he have had to do otherwise.
I'm also not saying that it's impossible to get within range to disarm someone with a gun, or that criminals don't sometimes put themselves in range to be disarmed. Nor am I saying that guns can only be used as ballistic weapons. But, the gunman allowed the second guy to just walk right up to him, that's not very realistic. Had the gunman walked up to the second guy and put the gun to his head to increase the threat, then that would've been better (more realistic) in my opinion.
hmmm...honestly I see a couple of problems with this video, and honestly only see them because I just spent a weekend at a RMA seminar where gun tactics were addressed. For instance, why would the gunman just shoot the one guy and not shoot the other? In one case he is using the gun as a weapon (kill) and in the other as a threat.
Its a bit hard to find a safe if both people are dead. I have a lot of real footage of people being in a very close range of a gun. Footage of criminals using their gun as an impact weapon too.
But what if your attacker's not a wimp and will kill you if you even attempt to stand up?

1. Already have your own gun and know how to use it well.
2. Get the fuck out of the way
3. Get your gun out and shoot the bastard. If there's another bastard, shoot him next if he doesn't surrender.
4. Once all the bastards have been shot or are being held at gunpoint, call the police.
5. Be ready to explain in court that you had sufficient reason for shooting the bastards.

But the scene with the two guys sitting at the desk is just stupid. Why would the gunman come in, shoot one guy on impulse, and not shoot the second guy as he gets up and moves towards him. I doubt a gunman who just killed one complete stranger would hesitate to kill another in order to keep from risking getting over powered.

omg the point is that if it DID happen, your response could be this, or many other things, i take this course, it's very adaptive. Or if you found yourself maybe not sitting down at first but somehow in a situation where you are being held up from the front by one guy, and his accomplice is behind him, you can still use this technique, it's not designed specifically for "when you're sitting down and your attacker lets you stand up and confront him." People waste so much energy

All this looks great when it's rehearsed, and the outcome of the situation is known and played out by actors. I think it odd that being a trained professional, he got caught without a weapon on him.

Second, why did you call him a "gunman?" Do you also call someone who is carrying/using a knife a 'knifeman' or someone with a baseball bat a 'baseballbatman?' is that also to insinuate that batman is the batter in the world series?

It's a bit mad, a wad can kill, but if you can get yourself to act around live fire it will sure give you an edge, you don't get that with airsoft, but you won't get hearing loss with airsoft. There are no easy gigs.

Glen, I strongly recommend you to use Airsoft pistols instead of salva bullets for training. Remember that Brandom Lee died of one shot because the production of a movie belived that that pistol (the one that killed Brandom) was of salva. Airsoft are better because one can shoot like in real life in a safer way. And you can also tell if your training is working or not, by feeling if the BB bullet hit you or not.

Second, why would he let someone get that close to him. Glen's character is literally allowed to just walk right up to a range where he can easily disarm the gunman. Criminals aren't stupid, you need to honestly ask yourself if you would allow someone to just walk up to you if you were holding a gun to them, especially if you just shot someone else without any warning.

In the coming weeks I will try and piece some of it together so you can get an idea of some real criminals in action. Criminals are not that smart. Just think of the recent case where the guys robbed a bank in the US. They had Australian accents and robbed the bank that they used as a customer and got caught because the staff knew who they were because of their accents.

Hi cqcchief, yes I know that there are some stupid criminals out there, but it's a mistake to believe that they're all stupid because of a handful of examples. My point was that the gunman uses the gun as a weapon in the first instance, meaning there was no warning, and basically no chance for the person to defend against it.

However, for some reason he then decides to use the gun as a threat and for some reason allows the other person to walk right up to him to where he is in danger of being disarmed. If he were smart/sadistic enough to just shoot the first person, he would have done the same to the second. The video didn't provide any reason would he have had to do otherwise.

I'm also not saying that it's impossible to get within range to disarm someone with a gun, or that criminals don't sometimes put themselves in range to be disarmed. Nor am I saying that guns can only be used as ballistic weapons. But, the gunman allowed the second guy to just walk right up to him, that's not very realistic. Had the gunman walked up to the second guy and put the gun to his head to increase the threat, then that would've been better (more realistic) in my opinion.

hmmm...honestly I see a couple of problems with this video, and honestly only see them because I just spent a weekend at a RMA seminar where gun tactics were addressed. For instance, why would the gunman just shoot the one guy and not shoot the other? In one case he is using the gun as a weapon (kill) and in the other as a threat.

Its a bit hard to find a safe if both people are dead. I have a lot of real footage of people being in a very close range of a gun. Footage of criminals using their gun as an impact weapon too.
