  • did not move back in to center ( quickly enough) when rolling = pio

  • luck?

  • The pilot has launched from the 100-ft

level several times previously; I took the

video and was puzzled by his PIOs since

    wind conditions were fairly benign.

  • ya, agree with mirage. Also, kinda tough 'steering' on the downtubes..and, so high up on em. Dont know how' far'this person is along, but i have always impressed my students to go for the base bar right away, esp. if they are now going from a 100ft. hill. plenty of time/space to go back and forth. know this is 'opinionated', but have seen to many accidents from trying to fly away from hill in rowdy conditions, still flying in 'take off mode'. Gota start that transition right away... i think.

  • rubbish, down tubes are a must. he is over controling, and pushing accros the frame. never push accross only pull toward the upright. he simply needs to relax and only nudge toward the rising wing to correct.

  • I dont know I would call that PIO. From the vid it looks like he/she reacted properly, just a little late as a student will do...slow airspeed did not help with the first bump huh. I know that you have to have the glider trimmed slow for students, but a little more speed would have helped! He/she looked like they were forward through the control frame pretty good...
