  • manjula could we serve kadhi pakoras with any bread or as this

  • Manjula aunty, did you really say at almost the end that the kadhi was boiling for 10 hours?

  • @zari0506 :) no she said an hour.. not 10

  • add baking soda in pakora batter or if u dont have tht mix the batter prior 1 night so as to make the pakora fluffy

  • Manjula Aunty, you didn't put salt in pakoras , will it taste good

  • it looks delicious!!! never had one b4 but i need to try it

  • I must try this!

  • Thank you for the great recipe! Keep them coming

  • Aunty, I dont get that tangy taste in the kadi.I use desi yogurt from Indian store. Any suggestions? Even tried Lassi and kept it outside overnght but no success.

  • @meenakshi2102 use little citric acid.

  • @meenakshi2102 Leave that yogurt outside the fridge at room temperature for few hours and then make kadhi. You will get that tangy taste. or you can use buttermilk.

  • @meenakshi2102 so true yaar, wen i went for a visit to Punjab..i tried kadhi chawal almost everywhere and out of all of them only one dhaba gave the the tangy taste! did u find out what the secret is? is it lemon ? i hope that works well with the yohjurt ingredient?? kadhi became my favorite dish after i tasted the tangy one!!!

  • Interesting - but where did she add salt?

  • Thanx aunty ji, it so eassy to make it i never thought.

    Br.. Sonu

  • वाह मंजुला जी, आपने बहुत बढिया तरीके से कढी बनाना सिखाया है. मैं आज ही बनाने का प्रयास करता हूं. आपको अनेक धन्यवाद.

  • wow yummy, thanks aunty ji xxx

  • hi Manjula all your recipes are good but I would like to know if you can make something with squash and also food for people with ulcers thank you.

  • wow, I want to make this! Thank you!

  • this is exactly the way my mom cooks and the same dinner course....hmmmm...very good to see it even if I can't eat it...will try it tomorrow itself!

  • I did not see any salt added in either the pakodas or the kadi. Is that intentional or missed out?

  • Kadhi is a typical punjabi dish..and being a punjabi girl i am a big fan and love to cook it . But this is far from the typical north indian kadhi. It has got too much besan and less curd..this much besan will make it too thick. Usually i love your recipes but this was disappointing.

  • More besan means more protein.

  • its more besan means more carbs...

  • Jiya15

    Search with "Punjabi Kadhi".

  • That looks very good. I didn't realize pakoras were made without any filling. Thanks for your wonderful recipes!

  • what kind of yougurt do i buy and where i live in manitoba i clueless someone help me

  • Plain, unflavored, the thicker type the better. Maybe if there's a middle eastern or greek specialty store near you you'll find it there. I use Old Home plain or make my own with whole milk. Very easy and good!

  • thanx,God bless U

  • Please show how to make ghee. Thanks!

  • Manjula, This is an amazing gift to anyone who wants to cook vegetarian Indian recipes.

    Thank You!!

  • Hi Manguala, can you use corn flour instead of gram flour for this recipe?

  • sorry I dont think that will work

  • gram flour is the basic ingredient in pakoras. corn flour, you'll neither be able to fry them and in case you can, they will taste YUCKKKKKKKKKKKKKK!!!!!!!!! and the whole dish will be YUCKKKKKKKKKKK!!!!

  • Hi Manjuala ji , This is an awesome video but can u please how to make kadhi with buttermilk n which brand of buttermilk , as i have used cultured borden buttermilk n the buttermilk split , n please tell also how much buttermilk n beasn n water proportions to be taken .thankyou

  • i beleive so they can soften when put in water..right manjula??

  • Interesting. Can you add veggies to the kadhi and keep it traditional? I would have put string beans and carrots, served with plain rice. Also, I would have soaked the pakoras in the kadhi directly, why do you soak them in water?

  • i love you so much Manjula! Your recipes are great and your such a wonderful woman for teaching them!!

  • thanks for posting the recipe ..can you please show us the recipe for VEGETABLE BIRYANI?

  • Hi Manjula! This recipe looks amazing! I have never heard of pakoras that you soaked in water and then squeezed out. I love your videos and I plan to try this recipe. It looked soooo good in the video--I could ALMOST smell it! Your videos are very helpful to someone like me--I LOVE Indian food, but find it very challenging to cook. Your videos have helped me make some great Indian dishes! I thank you for them. I'd like to see some desserts sometime. Thank you, Manjula!

  • thank you so much for this, my son has been wanting this for long time, and you make it so easy.

  • Certainly one of the most interesting recipes I've seen you make.

  • Hi Manjula, I am not a vegetarian, but enjoy your recipes very much. I have tried few of your recipes, and all of them were big hit to my family.Thank you very much for posting these videos.

  • thanks

  • i like to use 1 tableh spoon of cumin seed

  • Wow this looks so good!

  • wow! i have never heard of this kadhi dish before....intersting. will sure try it out! i have one question - could you please tell me the brand name of the cookware you used to make the kadhi. its almost like a kadai we use in india....i have been searching one like this for such a long time. please do reply ASAP. thank you!

  • I use capalon

  • thank you very much!

  • Very interesting, thanks!

  • Thank you again! This will be my dinner tonight.

  • Great show, keep up all your good work. I hope you get a show in food network or something.

  • Thank you Manjula....these are the sort of recipes I love to see you cook because they are so innovative and unique to Indian cuisine, but uncomplicated.

Good tip at the end to add some water to the ghee/chili powder tempering.

Will be trying this very soon when I make some fresh yogurt. One thing I have noticed with store-bought yogurt is that these sort of kadhi dishes come out a bit too sour for my taste.

  • Great , yet very easy to make and foolproof recipe. Aunty, Can we make Kadhi Pakoda with Urad Dal?? How different will it be?

  • excellent

  • I Love All Your Recipies!!! Partiularly boz They Are Vegetarian :)
