format the drive with cmd that you can use in the windows disk. What you would type is Format C: No Slash Then after its done just install again. To get to cmd goto vista install disk Then when it says install now button there is a Repair button below and click that then There will be a different window then click command prompt then do what i told you above

can some 1 help me . i had windows vista home basic. i downloaded ultimate. the installed it . then i tried 2 install it again but it was an iso file but did not exectracted to the desktop so when it restarted it says an rerror has occured to read the disc ? and i tried 2 burn that disc but extracted it in to a disc so is like a windows vista disc normal. but still says error when reading dick or something like this pls help !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

use virtual machine, virtual machine is a virtual computer that lets you install windows Vista and also have windows XP at the same time. You can have both XP and vista. Virtual machine is free and you can download it off Microsoft. Type in virtual machine on youtube search and it will tell you how to install vista on it without removing windows XP which is your main machine.

i would recommend not installing windows vista as i did it on my computer and for some reason it slows down and it cannot connect to the internet. i would suggest that you stick with windows XP. I know you would rather have windows Vista but it will slow down your computer.

I have vista on a gaming pc but it doesnt matter that it automatically eats up 1gb of ram ive got 8 so i geuss i got 7 free, just have to buy a 64BIT version instead

If you are looking to remove the Vista Boot loader (Windows Boot Manager) From vista then you can use a program inside Windows XP called EasyBCD and that program can remove the Windows Boot Manager from vista at startup!

no thats not the problem. my computer says "designed for windows xp" but it supports windows 2000 and even windows 98 so it may support vista. i had that problem once where it wouldnt install right. you can check the boot settings or even check the way vista is formatting your hard drive.
