  • Ha ha. I love the girl he nearly steps on. I've done that, myself, a few times before. But seriously, great form. I couldn't resist saying so, despite the video being years old.

  • great execution! and great Uke Marco!!

  • very nice. What was that music?

  • Micheal Franti and Spearhead. Good stuff.

  • Awesome stuff...did Saito sever do that, or is it Miles' own?

  • Even though the bokken jiyu waza" is totally based on the Iwama aiki-ken, Saito sensei didn't teach it. In my years with him we trained within the Iwama weapons forms, which is a beautiful system. But unlike in tai jitsu, there is no "jiyu waza in the Iwama weapons system. The "ken jiyu waza" (like "jo jiyu waza" and "ken tai jo jiyu waza") naturally developed from a need round out the training. Like in tai jitsu.

"Freedom is based in form, All form should naturally lead towards freedom".

  • This is very interesting. I've been to two of Kesler's seminars. I like his style. Its a mix b/w that of Iwama fundamentals and Tiesser's free flowing movement. Very solid.

  • Oh man, I didn't realize this was your, Miles, youtube station. Duh! I like what you are sharing here with us.
