This argument about which is harder frankly doesn't make sense.Gymnast spend hours a day training working through pain and depending on the gymnastics for example rhythmic gymnastics they go ballet training too but harder and ballerinas do what most could never achieve in a life time.them along side gymnast are some of the most hardworking, determined people there r.They literally put their lives a stake every single day they defy gravity and things most of only wish we could. They r both amazing
Why does it have to be gym or ballet? They are both very hard in different ways I am a gymnast but I have many ballerina friends and they are amazing at what they do it is painful and they dance through stress fractures just as we train through stress fractures they spend hours and hours training for the ballet just as we spend hours and hours training for competitions. True, a ballerina would not be able to throw a double back but a gymnast could never get up on point and do what they can do!
Anybody who says ballet is "harder" than gymnastics is either seriously bluffing or knows NOTHING about gymnastics. I suggest that the dancer and the gymnast gather their various medical records and bills and get together to compare them. That should shut the dancer up right quick. And anybody who claims to bleed through toe pads AND ¼" wooden pointes is, at best, exaggerating. I never bled that much even without pads and in soft pointes. Gymnastics is both harder AND more dangerous by far.
@livgymnastdancer if it the same that i use then i think it is a spray that you put there that mack the leo stick so if dose not move i use it :) hope that helps
@BalletGirl312 Again? Are you really just going around to every gymnastics video you find to proclaim that you are "better?" That's not nice. I think one day you'll realize that. It doesn't help the case for ballerinas when you're being so disrespectful of other peoples' sports.
@BalletGirl312 uhm actually i was gymnast for 13 years. and a ballerina for 14 years. doing gymnastics you work ten times harder than a ballerina does, this video shows barely nothing what gymnast actually fully have to do. doing ballet yes is allot of hard work as well, but the muscle and strength have to use for gymnastics with all different subjects are extremely much more stronger than anything.
@BalletGirl312 Uhm ballerinas don't have to run full speed at stationary objects. Ballerinas don't have to peal skin the size of quarters off their hands. Ballerinas don't have to risk their lives to tumble and throw themselves twisting through the air. Ballerinas don't have to dance and flip on a 4 inch piece of wood. I'm sorry, what's harder?
@AlmostFamous1035 Ballet is harder. Bleeding though 1/4 inches of wood and having more bllisters than stars in the sky isn't sitting back and relaxing in front of the TV you know.
@AlmostFamous1035 you're right ballerinas dont have to peal skin the size of quarters off their hands... they have to pull it off their feet! both are very hard! i do ballet and trust me... it is not easy! some gymnasts are as flexible as ballerinas so don't go calling it easy
@AlmostFamous1035 gymnast dont need to stand on there toes with a shoe on that has a piece of wood on the end of it, gymnast dont need to be perfectly on beat with others bc in dance u have to match other 15 people, gymnast dont need to remember 5 -10 numbers each around 4minutes long, yes gymnastics is hard but so is being a ballerina, they are both hard and you should not compare im not trying to be mean but u clearly dont understand how hard dance is unless you become one
@BalletGirl312 ya right gymnasts go to the gym 24 hours a day and work way harder than ballerina's even though gymnasts have some moves the same doesnt meen anything!!! gymnasts are alot better than ballerina's because they work way more harder than you!!!!!!!!!!!
@funnyperson101ish Well, just think of it like this. If you didn't have ballet and dance and the gracfullness that ballerinas introduce to the world, you wouldn't be a gymnist. Ballerina's introduce everything about beauty into the world just by dancing or 30 seconds, and not only beauty, but grace, strength, and so much more.
@BalletGirl312 um excuse me yes you could prove that by going to gym and looking in and seeing all of them train!!! yes ballet is hard and you have train alot but i didnt meen gymnasts are better its just that we are both working hard and you have you have to train alot and it is hard both ballet and gymnastics there i made my point.....done??? ok good bye!!
@BalletGirl312 geez, you have commented this on like, EVERY gymnastics video on youtube! Who are you trying to prove it too? Obviously , we dont care if you think ballerina's are better! The only person you are REALLY trying to prove it too, is yourself honey.
@BalletGirl312 ballet may be hard but NO ONE can deny deny that Gymnastics is a hard sport (the hardest in my opinion), People will never understand unless they do it. So unless you've done gymnastics before, you can't say SHIT.
@BalletGirl312 no they dont ballerina's suck gymnast's work so much harder and go through soooooo much more pain! ballerina's dont have to do flipa on a 4 inch wide 4 feet high wooden platform (beam) they also dont have to flip swing jump catch and go around wooden bars (uneven bars)
@BalletGirl312 they dont have to fly in the air extremely high flip and twist in mid air (floor) or jump and flip over a big thing thats taller than you (vault) oh and you dont condition near as much as us you cant say anything about gymnasticsuntil you've actually tried it and if you have tried it and quit then that shows ballet is easier than gymnastics by far! so you can shut the freak up!
P.S. you also dont get bloody blisters and rips from the bars now do you.....no!!!
@BeautyGymnast0520 um, I bleed all the way throught my toe pads and through my pointe shoes! That's more than 4 inches of wood. So many people start out doing ballet and gymnastics when they are little, and most end up quitting, but i they stay with one, it is most likley gymnastics! Why? Because it's easier. You have to be deticated to dance and to tumble, but to do ballet, you have to be graceful, taleted, beautiful, and most importantly, you have to love it
@BalletGirl312 Um, I started both ballet and gymnastics at the same time as a kid. I lasted about 3 years in gymnastics, but continued on with ballet to adulthood. I did NOT find gymnastics easier by ANY measurement of difficulty AT ALL. And not only did I never use toe pads in my pointe shoes, I made sure I bought the softest pointes I could find. I couldn't feel the floor or through pads or thick wooden pointes, and it was too difficult to balance in the harder pointes.
@kayper54 Yup, soft pointe shoes are for someone who is scared of getting hurt. To difficult to balence in hard ones? You obviously didn't care enough for ballet to work hard enough to actually achieve something in the art. And by the way, my dad works full time 2 jobs and part time 1 job, and has to live in Australlia to keep me in school and ballet. I have a broken foot, and even though it wont heel till January 2013, I'll still dance on it becuase I want to die dancing, and i will.
@BalletGirl312 Sweetie, you've lost the debate already. Someone who is going to take A YEAR to recover from a single, little, broken foot bone is NOT meant to be a gymnast OR a professional dancer. YOU aren't going to accomplish ANYTHING artistically with an extended recovery time like that. AND your forcing your poor Dad to sacrifice his time and money for your education AND dance? You're both wimpy AND selfish. Quit ballet, enroll in public school and get off that high horse.
@BalletGirl312 OMG I just realized. You're a TROLL! You're neither a dancer NOR a gymnast! Well, you win that point; you dangled the bait, and I swallowed hook, line and sinker. Toepads, HONESTLY. From someone who claims to be a dancer. I shoulda seen it, I shoulda seen it.
@kayper54 Um, I'm totally a dancer. I just started pointe, so I am required to wear toepads for the first year of my pointe trainning, then I can remove them.
@BalletGirl312 Well, that makes more sense, then. I was never allowed to wear toepads. Once you discard your pads, you should also be able to move to softer pointes, as you should no longer need the extra support the hard pointes provide. But if you really are going to take a year to heal, then I rec going back to non-pointe classes for at least 6 months. You will have to completely rebuild your muscles and basic skills, including the foot strength you will need for pointe work.
@lpslover123ization oh boo hoo blisters? well we gymnasts get rips, broken bones, black eyes and POSSIBLE DEATH so yes I will admit im not as graceful as whatever u guys are called but we gymnasts are pretty damn tough
@MegaJuicycouture12 you know wat you do not know how hard i work everyday just to be on point i can break my toe!!!!!!!!! so i am sorry if you think gymnast look hard but i understand you because i used to be a gymnast and NEVER got hurt! my point is that gymnast do work super super hard, but ballerinas......... 10% more

@BalletGirl312 That is a joke... Ballerians work NO were near as hard as gymnast.. nor do they train as much, or have to learn as much. This video is not a good video to see that though, watch some other training before you judge.
'People are jealous of us gymnasts, they dont understand the hard work we have to go through' I understand completely. Imagine being a ballet dancer and putting on a performance of 'Yes, what I do is easy' and going back to the studio to rehearse and train and ending up in tears because what I do is NOT easy at all.
