  • So, I just discovered this song today, by accident. This is the best accident that has ever happened to me.

  • @Chapter1Tormented Back when ppl used Limewire the songs would get mixed up titles and this was under Tool, Creed and Alice n Chains and it was on youtube titled that too the video with that title is proboly still up.

  • @TrainingStream I'm just glad to have come across it =P It's been on repeat for hours at a time. Tis the season to be alone =/

  • I put my hands up to the light, and I watched it die.

  • PL? Czyżby Polak?:P

  • ok wtf? total candlebox knockoff smh

  • Legendaria

  • So many great musicians at the same place!

  • Recuerdos everywere :c

  • This version is die hard.

  • Zajebiste....

  • this song is beautifull shut up and lisent

  • I thought this was Alice in Chains at first too, its a great song.

  • This song is actually really good but it's a pretty blatant ripoff... sounds like a song from Alice in Chain's Sap or Jar of Flies, it steals Alice in Chains' double lead singer sound, and the singer totally stole Layne's voice... but the lyrics are great so it's definitely passable. In fact I quite like it, despite how much I hate every other grunge ripoff band... -cough-Creed-cough-

  • @Tigerpuffer So what dude Grunge is what inspired this band and all its members. Alice and Chains got something from their style from someone else to. We don't call every band in rock a Chuck Berry or Elvis ripoff.

No one cares about how much you hate creed and don't say something is passable as if it needs your approval.

  • @Ohwow979: Well I didnt ask for your approval either.

  • @Tigerpuffer yeah...well you try to steal Laynes voice...

  • sounds just like candlebox cover me

  • listen very carefully......not Vedder, not Layne, I can understand the mix up but had it been a AIC - PJ collaboration it would have hit the airwaves hard because it's a great song

  • OMFG... what a F'N GREAT TRACK!!!

  • Downface is great! Super underrated... of course good music doesn't seem to survive out there these days. Perhaps it is better this way. Epic music being underground and hidden from the rest. However if people are never exposed to this greatness there is never a chance for that connection... It is a damn toss up.

  • morons...this might be on the downface cd...listen to all the songs, this is the only song that sounds like eddy vedder and layne. im pitch sensitive and never wrong about voice recognition. conspiracy. this is eddy vedder and dont really care what cd its on

  • this is Downface... not pearljam, not tool. nor alice in chains. sorry.

  • Who the hell would dislike this? I mean seriously...Why? Unless you can't understand English this song should make you think...think,think,think...and appreciate. Good riddence.

  • This might have been the perfect rival for Staind's "Outside"... sounds reeeeeeeally nice!

  • Wyclef ripped the riff of this song off of Downface's Alone.. I been saying it for years but no one knows that Downface song. Wyclef is a biter and a musical thief, plain and simple.

  • @welcomehome901 Damn, listening to that Candlebox song "Cover Me", this riff is strikingly similar to that song! Nothing is original I guess...

  • @welcomehome901 i realized that dude. fuck wyclef

  • just seen a repeat of chappelle's show with the musical act at the end: some black guy with dreads completely ripping off this song.

  • @NewAmericanSymposium it appeared to be WYCLEF JEAN - IF I WAS PRESIDENT...

  • Madison, WI at its finest!

  • i am gay for this band

  • Em G Am C

  • How are these guys not on the radio

  • Seattle didn't do this song....but it sounds similar to Cover Me (Candlebox)

  • @vincit30 I thought it sounded like Candlebox!

  • @vincit30 yea like exacly. wich one was made first?

  • @mcneekur000 candlebox came out with their cd titled " candlebox " which contains the track " cover me " in 1993, whereas downface's " alone " came out on their cd titled " confidence " in 1998, mystery solved. this song also reminds me of alice in chains song " nutshell " which was also recorded in 1993, but released in 1994.

  • @mellomex85 yes mystery solved, it doesnt sound like nutshell tho. maybe the solo a little. i love that song

  • @mcneekur000 yeah the solo a bit , as well as the intro in my opinion. yeah man nutshell is great, actually all three songs are quite badass, and are on heavy rotation on my mp3.

  • @mellomex85 yes mine to, i love em all

  • she´ ll come back to me... - no she won´t :D

  • The riff was absolutely stolen from Candlebox's song Cover Me. Downface is a sham/joke.

  • The riff was absolutely stolen from Candlebox's song Cover Me. Downface is a sham/joke.

  • 4 People are deaf...

  • @marco81709 6 people are deaf now. haha

  • Dom Fields needs to stop being a hitler of music and realise people have different tastes.

  • Matt Pittaway needs to get some anti-depressents

  • The intro seems Cover Me of Candlebox.

  • We're covering this song and I think we'll do very well with it cause it's beautiful - except for the drummer they used. That boy has ZERO rhythm. I imagine it'd be horrible to have sex with him.

  • @mariasolarus i hope u r a girl

  • @HoID1 haha yeah, I am.

  • weird it sounds like perl jam

  • back voices not maynard?'

  • great song by DOWNFACE!!! NOT Pearl Jam/ AIC/ TOOL.. fucking idiots..

  • great song by DOWNFACE!!! NOT Pearl Jam/ AIC/ TOOL.. fucking idiots..

  • this is layne staley, jerry cantrell, eddie vedder, & me on the drums. oh yeah and kurt cobain was there, for moral support. santa parked his sled outside the studio, i mean my house, and played the violin for us. the easter bunny came and gave us all candy, at which point the tooth fairy stopped by for a brief chorus session. that bitch refused to give me any money for the tooth i knocked out of the easter bunny, serves him right for telling me my business, ill tell you when iv'e had enough!

  • @mellomex85 highly unlikely

  • Comment removed

  • @mellomex85 Lol, you made me laugh.

  • @mellomex85 really? you are the drums?

  • @JarodJesus did you know the word gullible is not in the dictionary ?

  • @mellomex85 why D:

  • @JarodJesus not sure, i'm not familiar with the inner workings of the politics behind dictionaries and or dictionary publication. haha

  • @JarodJesus Omg shoot your self dude :P

  • @JohnAdamosGr Nah.

  • @mellomex85 you forgot Chris Cornell he wrote the lyrics... :) really

  • @1910Femke now you're just making things up..... haha

  • Downface is great. But this isn't Creed, Tool, and Pearl Jam. Pretty grungy though.

  • everyone like underappriates these guys. my favorite band is Alice in chains but these guys are great!

  • Im originally from Montello and very proud of these guys. I will never forget cn them open for Deftones @ summerfest. Awesome!

  • Hello, Joe from Downface here. We are four guys from Wisconsin that met through a music store ad. We clicked from the first get together. Alone is our most popular song by far. It was recorded on a very low budget in a rap studio in Madison, WI. There is an electric version and an acoustic version. Its off of our first album "Confidence" Our second album "Within" had a little better budget. The songs are very good and sound great. Most of our songs are not like Alone at all. Much heavier.

  • i once heard that, thinking it was pearl jam! like almost every1!! surprised but nt dissapointed, another great band i get to know :D

  • everytime i log onto my computer, this would be the first video i'd go to and second would be Downface - Ocean

  • Is this both versions played at the same time?

  • @TheWhocares3 no, the non-acoustic version only has distorted guitar in chorus :)

  • This is downface and it is the acoustic version because both versions are on this album

  • Alice in Chains & Pearl Jam -> Alone

  • przypadkiem odnalazłem to koleś jesteś dobry tylko powiedz mi czy można jakoś ściągnąć ta wersje piosenki

  • lol the songs a mystery but the drums sound gooooood in the song

  • ;D super ;]

  • Either this version is fake meaning someody put drums and electric guitar over this (which anyone could do) or there are two versions... i think its fake

  • @66ALicEiNCHaiNS06 nope its not fake its the released version

  • @bubblygoo123 Singer sounds just like Eddie Vedder

  • @66ALicEiNCHaiNS06 it dose but its not .

  • i've only heard the acoustic version, omg! this is so powerfull!!:D

  • sound more like creed but better

  • Personally, I like the drums in it?

  • This version is better. The original drumming was epic garbage

  • this is actually pretty good, too bad they only made 2 albums. they prolly got the same criticism Stone Temple Pilots and Bush did w/ thier first albums (hahahaha)

it honestly does sound like Eddie Vedder in parts though, especially the chorus.

  • You idiots. This version is track 3 on the album track 11 is the acoustic version. And all 14 people who are with you dont know or remember grunge anyway this proves it

  • This is the original Alone song, TRACK 3 from Downface album "Confidence" (Picture in the video), but in the same record they put the acoustic version, TRACK 11, thats why theres 2 Alone versions, but both are from Downface.

Instead of fighting, make it know, to give Downface the recognition it deserves

    Fucking great band !

the back vocal when they said "Now I turn to travel home" is a LITTLE similar with Eddie Vedder voice, maybe for that is why the people confused this great song !

  • @KirkHammett321 hey so how many albums have they released..? i always thought it was alice in chains and pearl jam till i did some research they are 1 fukin awsome band and would love to hear more

  • @grungechickKIWI Im not sue, bue I think they have 2 albums, this one from 1997, and other title "Within" from 2002.

  • @KirkHammett321 did you notice this video has 85,901 views thanks to the rumor that it was some Seattle collaboration...pisses me off too but Downface maybe oughta be thanking them because they got a shitload of views because of it...

  • Yes, Downface wrote the lyrics for the song "Alone", but not the music for the song as well, at least that is what I think. Actually, if anyone was to stumble onto the band Candlebox, they should find the song "Cover Me", they would see that the music for the song is quite the same.

P.S. Candlebox is listed as Downface's influence on myspace.

Personally, this was a big disappointment for me, as I first heard of Downface, and after some time I heard about Candlebox.

    This is nothing like Eddie!

  • @radagahalexei Fuck you and your goddamn opinion. I dont if it isnt Eddie, This song is better than almost half of the stuff that Pearl Jam put out...

  • @stopthrm I really meant nothing bad. I simply said that this isn't their original song. Secondly, if you actually read what I wrote, I think you would have noticed that I only agreed with the person saying that this isn't Eddie, and that I actually wanted to point out that they didn't make this song originally, but Candlebox, thus saying that, and I agree with you, this song maybe is better than Pearl Jam, but it isn't theirs, I repeat.

  • This is a good version. More Angst!!!

  • Yep, there's no fucking Eddie Vedder in this.

  • It's Downface, no one can get it straight.

  • great!I fall in love..

  • awsommme

  • go to itunes, search downface. album confidence, track alone. it's there. the only version that genuinely exists. this is an idiot thats taken the acoustic version and put some crap in the background. until 10 minutes ago i always thought this was by aic and pearl jam, certainly sounds like veddar on lead and layne on back up, but it's not. sorry guys. Still a fantastic song though and it's on my top played list!

  • @stylezofnz You, my friend are an idiot. Both versions are available on itunes and both were recorded by Downface. For fucks sake you can see the band recording this version here: (youtubedotcom/watch?v=d5mvL497Ln0)

    Never post a comment again.

  • @afhevh i've seen the video of them recording the electric version, sounds good. doesn't sound like this version.

I'm sorry your highness. You are god of all rock. By the way, if this is their genuine electric version then downface fucking suck cause this version is shit.

  • @stylezofnz I'm glad you recognize me for what I am. This sounds exactly like the video of them recording it.

So you still think the other version is the only one that exists on itunes like you posted earlier? Or are you admitting you're an idiot that was posting stupid shit? Rhetorical question by the way.

  • The first comment about itunes was to point out the true artist. I don't actually give a fuck about whether there's an electric version and an accoustic version. i was trying to point out that downface is the true artist. Yes i admit i was wrong about this not being the elctric version. Now i will state a matter of opinion. This sounds like shit. The accoustic version is much better. This sounds identical to the accoustic version with an electric guitar thrown in. I don't like it. Happy now?

  • @stylezofnz I'm as happy as Mudvayne now.

  • I actually read it's Eddie and Layne doing an album together earlier in their careers

  • What an AWFUL job on covering this up with electric.

  • @HallowedHoly is it me or does this sound alot like Candle boxes song ' Cover Me' ?

  • @MegaFlint1 I was gonna post that same question. Very similar.

  • Hey i don't know why is everyone complaining about this song, or the band...it's clear that the intent of the song..in fact all of their songs are to sound like the songs of mentioned famous bands like pearl jam, alice in chains, tool... when you make a "copy- paste" song.. and you do it good...off course no one will recognize the artist...this song is exsactly like something eddie and layne would sing..The song and the band are great, but there is not a single unique thing about them.....

  • @efgenije .... and it's embaresing to be mistaken with someone else....that's why no one knows about Downface and every one thinks its something else...the band is totally pointless we already have bands that they are "copy-pasting" and they can't ever be as good as those bands....

  • I like this version more.

  • there is no way there is drums or electric guitar take this off

  • im having a grunge vibe....

  • uhm well i just realy licin to this song for the fact that i have a sad relationship so this is kinda the only song to show my emotions at all its sad that shes never seen me licining to it in the past 6months ......maybe i didnt try hard enough ....?!?! guess not .

  • This is a kickass song!! and Downface deserves the credit!!!

  • down face huh?

anyone kno if i can get an album by them or sumthin?

that guy is a fuckin epic singer... must be good to be confused with vedder and layne

  • @XOradamOX I know the album names and they have a great song called Fallen check them on myspace you can hear more of their music there. The albums are 1997 Confidence Album, and 2002 Within Album. Hope that helps.

  • @XOradamOX yea it's on amazon mp3 and i think itunes but the cd is $150 on amazon

  • @XOradamOX it's scot stab from creed and maynard from tool you tard

  • @trip061782

no... its not you complete ignorant asshole

firstly the singers (yes its one person) is Tim Anderson

Secondly creeds singer is called Scott Stapp....

    dickhead

how about you look up the band before you claim to know something

  • The Alone covers on YouTube are really good! Really heart-felt. Nice.

  • i can't beleive this song didn't become a smash hit, such asik tune, maybe a remastering is in order.

  • I always thought it was Pearl Jam and Alice in Chains, but non the less, fucking phenomenal.

  • Yep me too, that's what it was listed as when I downloaded it off limewire a year or so ago. Ah well.

  • it sounds like creed

  • It certainly does not.... There is a whole lot of difference between Downface (Alone) and Creed songs! I still do not understand how people often think this would be a Creeds song. If you listen carefully to the voice for just a second, you can hear Scott Stapps one is really different.

I love this song, really. But this sounds not like Creed to me at all!

  • świetny zespół, super piosenka, Dowface jest lepszy niż sądziłem, nie chodzi mi bynajmniej tylko o album Confidence i piosenke Alone.

  • i can almost swear i hear eddie vedder's voice in this song

  • @candice061093 same here mate

  • Similar thing happened with another band called 'Thread' they got mistaken for Alice in Chains.

  • Also happened with Snake Like Charm. Their songs have been circulated as "Alice in Chains, Godsmack, and Creed". Sucks when people change the tunes and the actual artists get looked over...

  • @calfdemon

doesnt suck. people take inspiration and flow it through their own music. this bands been mistaken for a few different bands, so whats that mean? that theyre fuckin badass? maybe.

  • @Heinousness

You misunderstood me. I meant that it sucks when people distribute the actual song as someone elses. When these songs or other bands like Snake Like Charm's songs are renamed and traded as Alice in Chains, people that receive the music may never know who the actual bands are. That is the part that sucks...

  • This version is actually pretty good, but I still prefer the acoustic version.

And for everybody who thinks the person who uploaded this vid added the guitar and drums themselves is fuckin retarded. Downface themselves did it. Don't believe me? They're on iTunes.

  • This fukin band is awsome! I recommend both there albums are a must have...

  • so does this band/song have remotely ANYTHING to do with Pearl Jam or Alice in Chains?

  • Nope.

  • i have had this song on my rare alice in chains cd i burned from limewire days ago,and thought it was layne staley with eddie vedder....guess i was wrong, its good to finally know who it really is.......great fucking song.

  • what an amazing song !!!

  • this is a great song!!! and not is PJ ft. Alice in Chains

  • people still don't get that this is not pearl jam, what a fucking joke, this song has been out for years

  • What a mess with this song all over youtube.

And half of the people would never know who sings it!

And I still don't know who the fuck put

electric guitar and drum into it?

Maybe it's this guy who post it eh?

    It's a conspiracy!!!

    Let's find this dude!

    Who is with me?

  • BAND MEMBERS:

Tim Anderson - Rhythm, Lead Guitars and Lead Vocals

    Rob Hammond - Rhythm Guitar

    Joe Violetto - Bass

    Russ Gray - Drums

  • But what's up with the added drum??

    Admit it bitch!

  • are they from any other bands prior? just always wondered who this was and ive heard so many things...

    XxLola

  • @dekster17PL why in hell does this sound like eddie vedder so much PLUS its somethng eddie veder would right sounds just like them and who the fuck is downface?

  • @suicacrobatdude hey stupid the song alone by downface has an acoustic and eletric/ regular version

  • @suicacrobatdude yo whos the singer eddie veder or is this really downface????

  • @suicacrobatdude look at his myspace dumbass, they put the drums, electric guitar, and bass to the song asshole!

    the song sounds good both!

  • I'm actually wondering if someone's taken the acoustic version of this song, and added the electric guitar/bass/drums to it. It sounds so out of sync, yet the acoustic bit sounds identical to the 'acoustic version'

  • this sounds like the original copy that I have off of a live pearl jam collection with some fuzz and drums added

... maybe i am wrong but i am gonna look into this band...

  • I believe Downface was a band way before Tool, and Creed This single really is old. Like early Seattle grunge old...

  • nope both tool and creed came before downface, and it's no way near the same time as the grunge uprising old. it is literally just a bunch of people who got together to appreciate grunge music and jam to a good sound together.

  • They really can't harmonize..
