Good old Bob "Safe pair of Hands" Wilson back in the days when Grandstand was at the height of its power. The BBC sports ident proudly proclaiming BBC sport still featured the best in British and International Sport. The BBC has since become rather sad and out of touch.Shame.

Why is TV not that good looking anymore, now it is all flashy and effects and all that crap, I would love to see it go back to the way it was before, and I am pretty sure that I am not the only who thinks this way.

Yes these are the titles I remember from being a kid. I was six when this was broadcast.

My dad too sported an 80s mustache, which I made him shave off in 1992!!!!

Was 11 at the time, and remember it well. I always remember my Dad sitting down with a pint of John Smith's in the afternoon at the pub to watch Grandstand. Used to drive down in his Ford Cortina and get the froth on his retro 80s mustache which even in 1990 was slightly old school. Ahh the good old days...
