this was crazy, i remember this...my neighbor works for jetblue...they had to drop fuel so that the front was lighter, making it easier for the pilot to land on the back, and slow the plain down before touching down the front.
I seen this vid awhile ago on TV, the nose gear got stuck facing away, forcing the pilot to land it as gently as possible. Luckily he landed it in good time because he began to run out of runway. Overall very brave of the pilot to pull that off.

I was on that plane. we saw our own landing on the screens inside. they turned on the news and we could see it ourselves. really cool...

i dunno. i think it was a way to slow the jet without dropping the front gear too soon, since it was cocked sideways and thats why it tore up.
