  • Sugar brought back slavery

  • look behind terence at 6:30 in the video whats that walking past him

  • @TheRisinPeople i see what you mean haha thats actually kinda creepy (more around 6:34) but it could just be something up w the camera

  • 9:00 - 10:25, very important to listen to

  • Brilliant intellectual, and so gentle and genuine.

  • "my mind is made up don't confuse me with facts" wonderful!

  • this man is telling you what you want to hear - which is not a good way to obtain the truth of any situation.

  • @popstone1 You are right on your first point. He's saying EXACTLY what we want to hear. The Truth.

  • does dmt cause brain cancer - but wait, it's made in the human body so that can't be possible...but how do you know that is made in the human body? oh, because you read it on the internet and therefore it must be true?

you believe what you want to believe.

  • @popstone1 wwwDOTscientificamericanDOTcom/blog/post.cfm?id=dmt-is-in-your-head-but-it-may-too-2010-04-16

Scientific American says so. I'll take their word over a conservative nut-job every time.

  • Respond to this video... "In 1972, the Nobel laureate Julius Axelrod of the National Institutes of Health discovered DMT in human brain tissue...."

  • @popstone1 You seem to do this just for fun? Any biologist would agree that DMT is something that human body produces. Seriously, just ask any. The required messenger-RNA and the required enzymes needed to produce DMT can all be found in the human body. No one is certain in which part of the body it is being produced, but the strongest hypothesis would be the pineal gland.

  • @pedarikarhu your reply was very reasonable, so i'll answer reasonably. i am not doing this for fun. i am doing this because i noticed that this man has hundreds of videos, pretty much all of them promoting drug use - and there is no one raising any contrary opinions to what he teaches.

the person who "discovers" t. mckenna on utube won't be some settled mature person in their 30s, it'll be an adventurous teen. and i know real well - like it or not - that powerful drugs can mess up a person

  • @popstone1 Postpone1 said: "your reply was very reasonable..."

    Logical Fallacy: Appeal to Flattery.

DO NOT be roped in by this troll!

  • @pedarika Don't be baited by postpone1. He is a troll. He's posting ungrounded JUNK on all my videos under many different pseudonyms. He's a slanderous idiot with no facts to back up anything he says. He's just spewing mindless conjecture and sensationalist idiocy. Even IF he believes what he says, he does not understand why. Look for one clear fact in ANY one of his posts. His arguments are disingenuous and fallacious at best.

  • @Lsdfunk well, here's a CLEAR FACT: anyone [posting mckenna videos on youtube is promoting drug use. is that not a fact? are you not "spreading the word" of this great drug gurus teachings? and do young teenagers surf utube? and are some of them likely to be enticed by what mckenna says?

but you believe what you want to believe.

  • @ajones123ful That's not a fact... Here's a fact: 1 + 1 = 2. Terence, at least in this video, wasn't advocating any drug use. All he said was that we should have the right to explore and use our bodies and minds. When he is advocating drug use, I don't see that as a particular problem. Parents may tell kids coffee (or caffeine) is a great drug for concentrating and getting work done. Terence says LSD is great for exploring consciousness and so forth. At least the kid is informed in both drugs.

  • Postpone1 said "and i know real well - like it or not - that powerful drugs can mess up a person "

    Logical fallacy: Appeal to Fear.

You know drugs can mess a person up. Life can mess a person up - no drugs required.

  • drug-addled conjecture, speculation, mythology, quackery. that's all mckenna was/is. why do you listen to him? is he telling you what you want to hear?

  • drug-addled conjecture, speculation, mythology, quackery. that's all mckenna was/is. you believe him because you want to believe him, not because you have researched what he teaches and found it to be true.

  • @popstone1 If you have something specific McKenna said that you disagree with, I would love to hear it. Civil discussion/disagreements better people. That being said, all you're saying here is 'he's full of poop'. Craft a more intelligent disagreement.

  • Gotta love Terence!

  • He really was great, wasn't he :)

  • love this man

  • The Arabs were also impressive slave traders!!!

  • Terence Mckenna was a great man.

  • ...zoginated

  • Yeah i agree exact;y with what hes saying here. And I think channeling Bashar is going to be a next step further than just showing us our stupidity but to help show us who we really are.

  • RIP Terence McKenna :)

  • The the interviewer is such a tosser. McKenna turns his retarded questions into streams of exquisite verbal genius.

  • I never ever get tired of listening to Terence McKenna, what a mind, what a wonderful human being. Terence was like the discovery of the compass, you could take a bearing and find where you wanted to go, without him we are going around in circles.

  • I can't even count how many rhetorical devices I've stolen from Mckenna. He was the master of oratory.

  • there ought to be a group of scientists with a glass window policy on all their research with all research released like as up to date as can be so that we can use these tools properly

  • A wonderful man. A credit to humanity he was, and through his legacy, remains to be.

  • Salvia

    Weed

    LSD

    MDMA

    Speed

    Coke

    Mush

    Truffles

    Pure DMT

etc.. nothing compare to smoking DMT and taking Salvia.

  • @LikeTotallyRich coke & speed? theyre addictive...

  • I fear that there are very few Mckennas running around in my generation. We take everything so lightly. We'll pass through life without communicating our discoveries, and all of this world will go to shit.

  • Haha is that interviewer Dutch? Otherwise he does a perfect Dutch accent ^^

  • so much logic...open your mind mind people...culture has brain washed us! go find out 4 yourself!!!

  • @roachrip everyone watching this video has an open mind in my opinion

  • CLEAR!

  • Every time Terence McKenna or Timothy Leary opens their mouth, my mind is just blown away. It's almost like their linguistics are on the same wave length as the pineal gland operates on.

  • @whosnkn i agree, my issue is though that i find it difficult to explain their theories to others. not at least because of the prejudices of drugs that makes people laugh or turn their back on you

  • @daschus people who do that are miss informed. Plus it's hard for us to except that we are wrong, it's in our nature. When people sit and watch HBO, or the Discovery channel and listen to ill-informed scientists who have no real study of the drug. Half the drugs that open our mind have been totally banned from all studies; scientific and spiritual. I was surprised when União do Vegetal was allowed to import DMT for hoasca. As they should.

  • @daschus IMO what is the difference from their religious experiences and reasons, compared to someone like Terence McKenna or Timothy Leary? Especially Tim Leary.

  • He is not dead. I received a msg from him... he was right on with the iching 2012!

  • Terence died in 2000 of glioblastoma multiforme, an extremely aggressive type of brain cancer? do you not see clear evidence?

  • @sindidesign Gee you're a rational person, a statistical sample of ONE psychedelic user who dies from that and you're willy nilly convinced. Do you realize that there are MANY people who have had a lot more psychedelics than he had that are still very much alive and kicking. Albert Hoffman who discovered LSD in the 1930's was still alive at the age of 102 and so high functioning that he was giving lectures on chemistry at that age! So, going by your one-sample logic they must also be essential.

  • @sindidesign There are also at least 2 Nobel Prize winners who were inspired by LSD, one is none less than Francis Crick, who co-discovered the double helix structure of DNA after he 'perceived' the shape while using LSD as a thinking tool (as they did back then...when people were smarter with their choice of drugs). The other that I can recall is Kary Mullis who came up with 'Polymerase chain reaction' for creating many copies of a given DNA segment from one small sample in a test tube.

  • I like what he says but I must point out that he is wrong about there being no slavery during the middle ages. Slaves were routinely taken during conflicts between christians and muslims pretty much from the end of the dark ages right through the renaissance.

  • @gzazz What he said was "nobody worked agricultural products with slaves in the middle ages". An important distinction. He's not saying there wasn't any slavery.

  • Definately changed the way I think.

  • what a guy!

  • Behold, the sound of truth and logic. What sort of a man could disagree with the ideas this man put forth? I suggest every one of you look into a book he wrote called food of the gods. It's one of the only honest unbiased sources of information and reasoning untainted by the censorship of this society, and it greatly concerns every one of us in that it covers a very large subject that determines the quality of each and every one of our lives.

  • Thank-you, to MAPS, who is doing more in this field, than any I know...Terence hits the problem, Spot On...Ty, for posting...

  • If you want to start somewhere. Go buy Salvia Divinorium online and try it in a shamanic way. Look on my channel for more information. Salvia, Ayahuasca, DMT extraction is the key to our future. I did it and i give you the information. Now it's in your hands.

  • he died mysteriously from a brain tumor at the age of 53. i can get into that, but without doing so i'll just say if you look into it it's all very questionable. anyway, as for his expression, i've always thought he looks concerned and determined when he speaks. maybe it was his way of showing us how passionate he is about what he believes in. also, they say that expressions help the brain think and speak in a certain specific dialect or manner. something to think about huh?

  • Terrence was a masterwith language and I know he knew he would have to be to be able to bring fourth subjects that can become so complicated that they spark oppositional emotions. He needed an edge over for lack of a better word stupid people trying to throw away his point with some dumb argument. His language mastery allowed him to bring clarity to situations where people would just resort to stupidity. He was one of the few people that lived in such a true way with no culture nonsense attached

  • @cheemooo So true, I have never seen and surely never will again such an ambient minded speaker with such wisdom...I have got to smoke some DMT before I die, its a life goal now

  • it's obvious his real intentions were to overthrow western ideology

  • @dirtdemon6

    It's obvious you're a simple minded moron.

  • @dirtdemon6 It's obvious people wanted to hear his opinions and it's obvious he had some good points and it's obvious that you don't and it's also obvious that no one wants to hear your opinions especially when you haven't even educated yourself on the thoughts of the man whom you wish to condemn.

  • WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW

    WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW

    WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW

  • WOW incredible

  • I cut out a picture of Terrence and put it in my wallet :)

  • Terence McKenna will be remembered forever, thank you for changing all of our lifes

  • so peaceful, imagine how the world would be if we were all like him...

  • man the look on his face seems to show the look of being bothered or worried- he just doesn't look very satisfied with what he has to say about society- How did he die anyways? and at what age

  • @Ac1DGoD i couldn't send my post as a reply?? anyway...my reply is below this message

  • Hail

  • in this video, terence captures the same spirit that is present in Ferris Beuller's day off...throughout the film and esp when Ferris talks to the camera...it's this sort of wizardly green marbled aura mystic DEEP energy. check out the scene when Ferris Beuller is the in the men's room talking into the camera via mirror, combing his hair...very VERY powerful vibes and example of the potential appropriation of the spirit of man.

  • He mastered figurative language.

  • all of your blathering comments are useless..............how can we all sit idly and resort to regurgitating non-novel information......to those who can see already..........Terrence gave US these tools...and used them himself to stir the stagnate waters of our reality.........completely useless......might as well extend these middle ages......

  • we are always part of a revolution to let these ideas free. do your part and free your own mind, free others. take part in this cosmic dance.

  • doesnt it strike anyone else as odd that those "in charge" (who are supposed to be doing OUR will) are LITERALLY POLICING OUR VERY MINDS???? a parent can feed their kids mcdonalds 3 times a day but cant smoke a joint or eat a shroom if they see fit. what a joke. a sad sad SCARY joke that people need to stop laughing at and GET PISSED. MAJORITY RULES BITCHES and more than half this country smokes or doesnt see it as bad...

  • the war on the free spirit!

  • I don't know how drugs can wake up people to see more and make a leap in consciousness when using them simply takes u down, the question is;why so many governments is making drugs illegal??? Probably through education could be possible to a certain degree, however the governments are letting us to use, aspartame, msg,"legal" drugs,etc....we all know now that they are extremely harmful, they say, take it,it's safe,we love u,we are unbelievable naive

  • @mytube92369 Drugs like coke, heroin, meth etc... aren't what he's talking about that can wake people up. Psychedelics like mushrooms are value changers because they can help you see things from different point of views more in depth and you can have major helpful epiphanies while on it. That was what he was talking about. But yea, the government makes so much money on the "war on drugs". And marijuana which kills no one is the most of all drug cases. It's insane.

  • @hmw612 Even that is not the full point. The point is these drugs that can and have lead to such breakthrough's in our consciousness, awareness and spiritual wakefulness are made illegal without progression in the research of these drugs. The point is that these substances are all called drugs when they should be known as different states of mind, narcotics, hallucinogenics, etc..

    We need to awaken.

  • @HSUniversal I agree completely

  • wise words...McKenna was the man..!! Salute

  • "Drug repression distorts civilized values and political discourse."

    ~Terence McKenna

    (See 7:27 for educational reference.)

  • The interviewr is such an asshole

  • @mastergabo15, maybe thats why his mic also looked so fuck up ;-) ...

  • open minded. exactly what 99 percent of the world isnt.

  • What a lovely, open-minded, tolerant gentleman.

  • well hes done alot of things and maybe he just talks like that cus he does. never judgemental but i know hes spiritual and thats all that matters cus life is full of hope and spirit...find your door and open it.

  • lol ive had some shit of pot and most of it was good. try buying a half an O and smoking it within a half an hour lol

  • why would anyone do that wen can get high with a bowl for an hour and just smoke for a long ass time instead of just wasting a bunch of weed wen ur not gonna get anymore high...anyone that really smokes weed knows that... u dont.

  • @fourtwentyftp Because there are more substances in this world than just Marijuana. This world was birthed with many natural mind expanding substances.

  • LOL well he was a pothead, but I think he' very eloquent here. Perhaps you should have some pot too

  • He thinks deeply though. That's the difference.

  • @sonofscars no he's just calm and speaking from his heart. you're probably all stressed out and see him as very slow. but he is very intelligent and speaks in a way that is very easy to understand.

  • Talks very slowly?

  • and we can understand everything he says so its all good as far as i know its no requirement to speak at any speed limit.

  • At 6:37 check out the ghost dude darting across the shrubs in the background. Or maybe it's bigfoot. But, seriously, something does run across the trees in the background at 6:37.

  • There is a path back there, people are walking by at 356 too.....

  • He communicates on a such a higher level.

  • that's freaky. I regret that I was only 11 when he died, I bet that now in the information era he would get a million emails a day. But he would be over 60 and less active I suppose.

  • Comment removed

  • he is very humble considering how intelligante he is -------------his humility is part of what makes him intelligane

  • Man, its such a shame that we lost an amazing guy..

    R.I.P Terence McKenna

  • it is your ignorance that is keeping you in hell.

  • He's taken both and ketamine and other substances with everyone from amazonian shamans to Alexander Shuligan.

  • has he ever done LSD or MDMA? or does he just stick with pure plant teachers

  • yeah, lots of lsd in the sixties, but sticked more with (natural) mushrooms in his later years. used to fear mdma because of neurological data of the time.

  • LSD yes, MDMA - possibly yes

  • When I finally do DMT, I'm going to ask the machine elves if they can get me in to talk with Terence. He coughed up golden eggs every time he spoke.

  • Would like to know people beliefs on the concept that a lot of the problems created by the use of drugs would be solved if the substances were legalized and their making sale and disribution were monitored!

  • the intrviewer MUST be dutch, that accent

  • yes he is! Luc Sala is a resident of Amsterdam, The Netherlands, and that is no coincidence.

Europe in general has got more freedom than the United States, as everyone knows. But the Netherlands have even MORE freedom than all of Europe together. That's because they have been a nation of seafarers ever since. They know the ways of the world, they are friends with every culture on the planet. And that's also why "drugs" are legal there. I love the Netherlands!

  • whats up with all the negative ratings on just a constatation? :( i like holland & terence mckenna

  • What a beautiful mind, we lost so much when he died.

  • @PsychArt100 The Spirit lives in all of us. He became aware of it and channeled it to progress human civilization into a more unified and spiritual era. Spirit lives in all of us, we just become disconnected with all these distractions and poisons.

  • @PsychArt100 - BUT how much we gained by the way he lived!

  • @PsychArt100 hes clearly not dead i'm looking right at him =)

  • @PsychArt100 I agree but disagree. We lost him as a human but gained him as a spirit. Terence Mckenna lives on, and he left us with his utmost knowledge.

  • @PsychArt100 yes we lost a lot, but we gained more from his life and works. We've still come out ahead.

  • i love, amongst many things about mckenna, the way he speaks.

  • The story of human history is so varied that drugs is only a part of it. However, I think that the most recurring theme throughout our history is warfare - one tribe attacking another for their land and its resources and, paradoxically, altruism, an inherent feeling of compassion to keep us from completely annihilating ourselves as a species.

  • Love the username! And i think your point is a great one; unfortunately due to five years of bullshit i have become very negative. We kill each other to survive (though in our hearts we know a better way. Like someone said "promote peace dont attack war"). We come together to survive. We aren't even out of the trees dude! I have a feeling that everything can be boiled down to that (darwinian) one thing; SURVIVAL! (o:

    Blessings.

  • A true free thinker.

It´s also great hearing him laugh at the end

  • Notice how many thums up on comments on videos with terence mckenna? IMO this points towards a mass change in consiousness in the public that´s been happening and is still happening right now in modern society.

  • Comment removed

  • Terrence was a pretty down to earth guy

  • Purley amazing.

  • As long as we have sages like this, there is still hope for the world.

  • too bad he's dead

  • Comment removed

  • God how I love this guy.

One of the most underestimated philosophers of the 20th century imho.

He sure deserves more credit than he has been given. Read his stuff!

He changed my opinion on drugs, society and history. And not many authors/thinkers have done this, I'm highly sceptical.

So kudo's Terence. We miss you.

    Cheers.

  • @HerrNebuchadnezzar he uses ultimate common sense and facts, and sees life from your perspective when he speaks and is very REALISTIC. that's what's so awesome about him. his head is in the sky, like the other, but his FEET ARE ON THE GROUND . he's a lot like Anton Wilson. if you like terrence, look up anton.

  • this guy is super inteligent

  • Perhaps THE greatest communicator and certainly one of the greatest minds of our era...This man's contributions towards raising the understanding on consciousness and how repressed and programmed we are as a society can never be measured in words. A truly beautiful human being and hero to all of us who still believe in freedom of the human spirit and mind. I love you Terrence. =)

  • absolutely right mate, i love terrance. i based alot of my work on his teachings. i wish he was still around, id like to get his take on 9 11 and the banking fiasco amongst other topics

  • this is one of my favorite interviews of him :) -- great to see him laughing

  • you can look in his eyes and tell he's seen some shit

  • I'm trying to live as good as I can to this thought = Don't believe in anything else than not to believe in anything.

  • Reading all the comments makes me only think 'bout the fun side of us, humans. We got to write in places like youtube and write long comments cuz too many times and too many of us do this thing:

We need to convince the people around us to convince ourselfs - and that reminds me of this one song known many of us

"And I am you and what I see is me"

  • too much truth in this video it hurts!

  • George Lucas: Terence McKenna's evil twin?

  • I was thinking the same thing. Also I feel that sex has more purpose and feeling than any type of drug so drugs cant be better.

  • I can see you have never tried mushrooms?, even a low dose?, using the word drugs is also wrong, did you know that every night your brain produces DMT while your sleeping?, its the same natural substance thats in mushrooms also. Sex only has real substance when the people make a special connection, and nothing ever has made me more connected to everything than Psilocybin.

  • I lost my virginity when I was tripping on liberty cap (psilocybin) mushrooms. What a magical night that was! That was 26 years ago. I recently got back in touch with the woman, who also had her first sexual encounter that night. I found her through the internet, and we still seem to gell. We're planning to see each other again in a few months. Wish me luck.

  • Best of luck. (o:

  • terence is the perfect shit.

  • Hey all, McKenna is a modern shamanic genius , I've been reading his books for years, and even have his DMT rap on my favorites, even years after I stopped tripping I listen to Terence talk and its like I never left the trip man, he knew something, and if he says 2012 is real I believe it too, reply to this post if your with me people, peace

  • do yourself a favour, brother, and continue the journey. keep the memory alive!

  • wow, Terence is SO right !!

    SUCK on that government.

  • he speaks words that of a prophet. Which he is only more psychedelically intelligent.

  • here it is the answer to the hate, and worlds problems.

makes me sick the world is so dumb.

  • Hail Terence!

    :D

  • cybersoldiers take the names of these users and report back as soon as possible over and out...

  • lol, we're too dangerous to the government!

  • yes that's right I fully agree :D

  • My hero.

  • I love you Terence. RIP my friend

  • the most eloquent and effortless speaker i've ever heard

  • well said, my friend..

  • Wow my friend just sent me this vid and it all makes sense!

    Damn McKenna is deep!

  • McKenna didn't just go deep, he went ALL the way to the source.

  • you are such an asshole

  • I love how he looks like he has fryed his balls off and you know he has through what he has written, yet he is clearly able to articulate his ideas with a spectrum of intellectual wording. It is the kind of thing that reminds me of how albert hofman lived to be 102

  • You have a choice of 1 ego reality, or multiple reality's, The choice is yours?, make it a goodone?.,
