I felt it was about how breen acts nice, smiles, and 'thinks' what he's doing is 'for the greater good', but in the end he's just in it for his own gain; it's saying that gman is the same way, that he's just 'helping' gordon (even tho it was his fault for both gman and breens victems situation) before ultimately using him for some ultierior motive, only he's WAY more of a threat since by the time u realize that u have to get away, he has u in his grasp.

The reason why Gman gives Gordon a choise in Half Life to fight or to live, Gman is Gordon, so he makes the right choise. I dont believe Gordon is Gman, i think Gman is the "Safekeeper" of Gordon. Maybe he made a deal with Gordon and took his power to talk away so he could guide Gordon. So Gordon needs to do Gmans "tasks" to get his voice back...Or the Black Mesa test screwed him up cause he didnt had a helmet.

The reason he doesn't talk is not part of the plot. Its a cliche of the fps genre. It removes you from the immersion when the character in an fps speaks.

We've never actually gotten the G-Man's real name, if he even has a name, it's only the name that fans have given him. He's obviously not working for the government, at least not earth's government, and he's not working for the combine, so there's some force that we have not been introduced to yet.
