Hi, go to this site and it has all the details needed to modify your carb for blow through. It is hangar18fabrication site under blowthru.html. I couldn't post the message giving the exact address.
Don't forget the fuel system has to be set up to maintain 7 psi more pressure than the boost you create. I have the Paxton Renegade kit for a late 90's Mustang. It produces roughly 8 psi as shipped. I added the blow off valve to the inlet tube. Since I have high compression I use racing fuel.
Hey man, awsome setup, i have a mustang too with a beautiful and tough 306 that i built, (over 400 HP), i have the same carb on mine 4150 HP Holly 600 CFM, and i really like ur setup! Can u please tell me everything that i need to do to run the same setup? i know u gotta do some mods to the carb n stuff. Also, what kind of charger is it, how much boost? My 306 has 9.5:1 compression. I"d be happy if u would kinda just walk me through the procces. Thanks man, eager to hear from u!
@resto2 supposedely the 2013 shelby gt500 is suppose to set the stage for the 2014 mustangs with more of a retro look. hopefully this look right here. more of a fastback look than now. I have an 07 V6 but id love it if they made it look like the iacocca mustang
I have a Versaille disc brake rear with a detroit locker and 35 spline axles. I have no dyno numbers with the supercharger, but 454 rwhp naturally aspirated. I'm guessing I have around 10 psi of boost.
My brother did the filming and has 2 left hands. You may have notice the shaking of the camera. . . .so you will understand why this was where the video ended because he suddenly started filming the ground. The car ran a 12.1 @ 112 mph, but this was in it's non supercharged days with a mild set up. I have not race the car with it's current supercharger set up.
this is probly a stupid qiestion but will one of these work on an 86 5.0 reson im asking is iv only seen the precharger on carberater engines witch the aire breather is are vertical but the 86 + are sidways id really like to do this with my mustang and i dont want to tear the block apart to be abel to make it blown
Yes. This will work with any carb'd engine. The Paxton was for an FI engine but I used a bonnet rather than a TB. If you use a carb enclosure, you wont have to modify your carb, except using a solid float and not the brass ones.
The last time I raced it was before was in a mild naturally aspirated form. She ran a 12.2 @ 112 with around 400 hp. I have since gone through a series of modifications including the last one being the addition of the supercharger. Unfortunately I have times for the latest setup.
The engine is currently supercharged. In my video where I had the Mustang on the dyno and she made 454 rwhp it was naturally aspirated. Sorry for the confusion.
hey i have a 1968 ford mustang with a 393 stroker aluninum heads and i want to put a pro charger on it whare did you get your kit and could you give me a ball park on how much you spent on the kit thanks
I used the Paxton Renegade kit for an 87-93 Mustang (obtained from Yamabe Racing). It required a few minor modifications to fit. The Procharger is going to be more challenging to install. It cost me approx. an additional $2000 for items like fuel system, bonnet, belts etc. The Procharger kit will run between $3200 and $5000 depending upon the kit you choose.
love the stang, i have an 84 carbed 351w in my 65 also, do you know if all superchargers stick out like that, i want to put one on but dont want to have a hood scoop.
also i have a be using 185cc afr heads, 725 demon carb, will i need to upgrade the cam, i currently have 270h magnum comp cams flat tappet hydraulic cam with 270 duration, is their any other upgrades that i need to do to put the supercharger on, aside from intake, carb, headers, the engine is stock.
really well thats cool i respect that lol but for a 1965 that stang is nice i wanna pick up a stang that ive seen here its a 94 to 98 mustang gt it looks like its in good condition and they want 4g for it i need to take a look at it first i think mustangs are bad ass over other domestic cars all though in into imports but mustangs have a long history behind them
I grew up watching the Mustangs at the Drag Strip. Two of my kids are into imports and one is looking at a 98 Mustang, so it looks like you both like the same style. That sounds like a good price, but make sure you test drive it. MY son's friend bought a car a week ago and didn't test drive it. On the way home he found out the brakes weren't working righ....he spun the car around. :)
Its for sure my favorite color of red, my mom had it on her 04 mustang then I painted my 65 the same color, and now my dad has an 07 ranger with the same paint
I really liked the color. When I went to the paint shop looking for a color, it caught my eye. It required 1-3/4 gals of paint to cover the car, but I painted each piece of the car and then re-assembled her.
shit now that is a one nice dependable and is strong car man, u really did took care of this car well i respect people who can takes care of their car well
Hi Renpolo, It really depends upon what your plans are for the car. In street trim, I would say 5 to 6 psi. I don't know if Vortech's Mustang kit is street legal on the Cougar. I'm checking into it and I'll let you know.
The pressure is really subject to the setup you have. What size injectors, fuel system, gas octane etc.
hmmm... well I just might wait on upgrading the cougar... because I still need to be able to drive it. I could probably do new exhaust and intake and such...
plus the modular v8's last a long time I'd say I have about another 150,000 miles left in it until I will drop something in it.
I have a 1995 Mercury cougar 4.6Litre V8... I wanna supercharge it but im not sure what psi to get... I'm getting K&N intake, and Flowmaster 40 series exhasut.. so it breaths and exhausts better... but i might vortech or procharge... can you recommend anything?
Hi 66, I pushed the tips out far because the engine moves alot of exhaust. It has a tendency to come back into the car through the trunk lid. This helped, but has not eliminated the problem completely. I guess the best way is to make a perfect seal around the trunk lid.
I agree, the best think is to make sure the engine is in perfect mechanical condition before upping the power. Once you supercharge your car, you won't regret it.
your gt tips stick out WAYYY to far. they should only stick out about 1 inch from hole. but i bet thats a fast car. i wanna super charge my 66 but i know id blow the engine since i havnt rebuilt it yet.

I've thought about it in the past but I felt it might be too restrictive for my setup. My brother had some on his 70 Camaro and it looked great.
