Why did you play it stretched to 16:9? This movie was intended to be matted (cropped) top and bottom to 1.85:1.
Assuming the VHS release is 4:3 open matte putting the TV on zoom instead of stretch would have cropped the top and bottom leaving it proper 16:9 just like the Blu-ray release.

This is the US release. I used to have the UK rental release that had trailers on it.

I think there's a version of the US tape that has trailers; I got the trailerless one.

@dorko225 I have a US VHS of the Stallone movie Over The Top, which, like this, is a Warner Bros release with no trailers.
