13" MacBook Air VS 11" MacBook Air

I think the MBA 13 has something wrong...or maybe it hasn't the same configuration of 11...I got macbook air 13 and the first boot is very fast: I'm able to see the desktop after only 10 seconds, when it's completely turned off....and 3-5 seconds when it is just "stopped"!

Are you sure that both are MBAs mid2011, with i5 cpu and 4gb of ram?

you probably need to clean the caches in the 13" one.... My mba late 2010 13" boots up faster thanboth of those...It boots so fast that you dont get to see the spinning circle under the apple...Just saying you should clean the boot caches to see if u speed it up.

@5H3211 Run these commands in your mac's terminal: (just copy and paste each one in order and don't worry..the 2nd and 3rd tend to take a while) 1st:

sudo chown root:admin /

(it will ask you for your password)

2nd:

sudo kextcache -system-prelinked-kernel

3rd:

sudo kextcache -system-caches

It should be blazin' fast after that!

Your test is inaccurate.

The 13" model has a faster CPU and a faster FSB then the 11" model.

@speedsociety I doubt that was SSD it probably had the Spinning hard drive. 1st generation SSD models where very expensive thats why they had the 80gb hard drive.

@NerdGenius i think both models shown here are the new 2010 macbook airs and both have SSDs. The old 13" Air had mouse button and a smaller hinge, i think this is the new one.
