was wondering why i always see potters rocking there head side to side when working on the wheel just curious what the purpose was behind that if any.

head rocking is a habit but many people do it ...a means of concentrating & focusing on a moving pot. SL

That's what waltz dancers do when they spin fast, so they do not get dizzy!!!
