Considering that the Big Bang theory is now thought by some to be a collision of demensional membrains wondering if smaller membrain contacts may be inpart a source of gamma Ray bursts and perhaps used to plot locations of such membrains. If light is affected by gravity then why is it used for sizing stars? The small ones may actually be extremely large but only appear small because of its gravity! So when small stars appear to collapse into a black hole then it is only appearance. It is not really collapsing into a black hole but visually becoming one from lack of light.

Not exactly. Light is only affected by the gravity of a black hole because its gravitational pull is so large. A star, even a large one, can't produce enough gravitational pull to hold in light. If they could, then we couldn't see star in the sky becasue we wouldn't see the light. When a star collapses into a black hole it is in fact being pulled into the black hole. Although most of them collapse and explode before they are completely pulled into the hole.
