  • @njicaart well... it depends on the abs roller. you shud ask the promoter or whatever he is that knows bout this roller abs. coz like mine.. it couldn't handle your weight. no offense. it still depends on the roller itself.. goodluck

  • If you have any lower back issues don't even try this! Ditto on sit ups. There is ONE fool proof, works every time exercise to get abs. Ready? When you are sitting at the table you eat, extend both arms forward, palms facing away from body and slow push on edge of table or otherwise move your chair back, get up and walk away, leave whatever you were eating on plate. Works great.

  • @Ahard1233 Sit-ups if you wish to destroy your lower vertabrae. The military are slowly phasing them out. Probally the main reason they are regarded as such a abdominal staple is because every military in the world does them despite the damage they cause. Abdominal rollouts are definately harder so in that sense yes they are ''better''. Sit-ups is mostly the hip flexors they actually work your abdominals very little in comparison.

  • @CoffeeFiend1 So you agree that the ab-wheel exercises are better for your back than regular sit-ups or crunches? I hurt my back pretty bad which the military is denying. I was surely fine before them. I been out since the first quarter of 2008 and it's gotten worst actually. Unfortunately I've gained weight thinking I needed relief of any exercise but of course i have to work and commute stresses on the back in NYC often-times suck. I need as much exercise as possible. I can't stay like this.

  • @FortuneGranted3000 You can damage your back with any excercise if you dont take care. However proper sit-ups do screw up your lower back and theres no way around it. Crunches are okay but they are extremely isolated. Extremely safe but extremely isolated. Weighted crunches are very good but you need to watch your neck. Personally I can hold a 20kg plate behind my head no issue but when I do crunches with it, its just heavy enough to be awkward and risk injury. Always need to be very careful.

  • @CoffeeFiend1 Cool thanks. I use a stability ball for my crunches now. I currently have a keg lol. I plan on hitting abs really hard and daily, if I don't do anything it'll be abs at least. Tired of leaving my routine because of bad back. That's one I can't seem to avoid.

  • @FortuneGranted3000 Static planks can also be a good addition. They do them in Yoga though so most people are too insecure to them afraid of looking like fannies. If you can manage a plank for anything past about 8mins your abs and core are pretty damn strong.

  • @CoffeeFiend1 Nah not I. I am the manliest man lol. I don't dry off with pink towels, and wash with pink rags. Nor do I wear pink (salmon included lol) but there is nothing wrong with Yoga. It's so many benefits from it. I've been doing my research on that stuff for a while. Surprised to see how much flexibility I really lost in the midst of the aging process :( I'm gonna see if I can keep a plank for 8 minutes. Maybe I'm just fucking fat? LOL I think I have pretty strong abs and can do it.

  • when u do it that way, doesn't it feel as if it works more on your shoulders and back more than your abs? it just doesn't seem right to me cause i don't really want to kill my shoulders or definitely not mess up my spine :/

  • @whiskey6767 if you still have flab over your stomach do cardio. Jump roping is amazing for cardio, along with running of course.

  • wow, i love it and i started this exercise about 3 month ago too. now i am able to do it like this guy . just that i am female and for some reason my six pack has still some fat on top of it :-/ but it is working my whole body and i am over 43. :-)

  • dude you must have amazing abs to do that, but yeh ur body does look pretty amaz. I can do to 100% flat on knees so I tried standing up and its just scary to get going at all, how easy did you find from knees b4 you did from standing?

  • nice going man. this exercise requires also strong lower back cause I have almost as big abs as you and im 17 yo. I can do this crazy exercise only once, mean I can do up and down once, fucking once only. Man, post a vid where u show ur lower back.

  • @overlevnadsoverall having similar "sized" abs does not mean you have the same abdominal strength as him.

    And you need immense core strength as well, not just "abs" and "lower back" lol.

  • @overlevnadsoverall They are... but your core strength is comprised of much different muscles than your 'bicep' / 'deltoid' (shoulder).

    I'm talking "trunk" strength, your physical strength in the middle of your body. Abdominal muscles, lower back, pelvic and hip muscles. Very few people actually exercise their core specifically but those that can do everything else better usually.

  • @temponebl : I've finally known the solution... you should jog and run more as well to burn the fat :)... and when after you burn those fat, seriously, your abs will be very very nice

  • @ekim474 yup. you can use different things to roll out on, it's real good, but you have to have a lot of abdominal strength to do it.

  • Good workout it looks like toning the muscles n doesn't play with your bak, how much does the equipmnt cost?

  • need some advice here... I've been using this wheel for quite sometime... but my lowest to abs don't seem to appear...

  • it takes more than the wheel dude. If you can do the wheel then that means your abs have the strength but its the definition they lack. If you want abs, you need to work your metabolism more. Watch what you eat a little more. Personally I don't eat chips or too much candy any more. Also work out your legs. Thats where a lot of your muscle is and the more muscle to fat ratio you have, the higher your metabolism which means better abs.

  • ya that'd be a biggy. Beer is full of empty calories. If you want nice visible abs then you have to lower your body fat percentage. Pinch the skin in front of your abs. If you see a decent amount of flab, then that's enough fat for you to consider a better diet. Also consistent cardiovascular exercise is an important factor. Running burns fat pretty well. Having abs means going through sacrifices.

  • agreed agreed agreed ,,,, I'm a personal trainer and personal know how to get great abs. That is great advice also I would say focus on the glutes as they are the biggest muscle in the body and also the most powerful, alot of fat burning ability there if you can get them some good muscle mass.

  • i feel most on my shoulders, but as i progress it, every week or so it becomes easier to do. i don't have 6 pack tho..so i guess its more about food orientation and fat burning than core exercise it self

  • It's an excellent exercise, although every time i do it, my head is about to explode. And i do it on my knees. Not like you. You must have some pretty strong abs man.

  • you have a good point about the head exploding but remember to breath while you do em. And remember the only reason why his Abs are so nice is because of his diet, No worries about doing them on your knees i do them after i do the ones on my feet try doing them first on your feet them try them on your knees as you were maybe that will help you. Good luck

  • I've taken the hang of it, as far as the kneeling is concerned (no more headaches). And it's been about 3 weeks now, since i've started doing this on my feet. But that will take a hell of a long time to master. I've never done anything so difficult in my life. Seriously. Thanks for the advice though...
