  • lol Rob

  • lovely song, shame about the sync issues.

  • still cryin' Leslie?

there, there - just drop the bitch & do her sister. she don't own you, after all.

  • Leslie is very special! No doubt!

  • Lesley I still love you..I loved you yesterday..and I love you today

  • I've always been a fan of Lesley's. a lot of people don't know that she is also a good song writer. Of course another reason her records sounded so good was because the were produced by the one and only Le' Q.

  • Where did the special took place?

  • WOW! GREAT STUFF, thanks for the memories of my true love and how could there be any neg comments. she is so great to listen to and watch. thanks again, jg

  • Timeless :) thank you

  • Lesley, you still rock!!!!!

  • One of my 60s fav's.. Great song from a great lady .. Thanks for posting!

  • She is precious and a real pro.

Singing her heart out and probably in pain with that wrist injury.

Great talent and still is out there performing. Check out her schedule on her web site.

    Love ya,

    sc in Dallas

  • I saw Leslie live at Palisades Park, NJ, she was fabulous and still is. I can recall dancing to her songs in my living room. This rendition is not quite as good as the original, but hey!

  • i have loved leslie and still do in my 50,s shes rocks!!!

  • HEY even wth a boo boo (she must have hurt her wrist) she is GREAT and I remember this performance. Lesley just rocks!

  • what was/who is cousin brucie?

  • @roaringwaterbay

a popular radio DJ in NY during the '60's.

  • OMG, Cousin Brucie! When I was parking and sparkin' with my girl at Bayonne bay in NJ and Cousin Bruce was playing all the hits of the time (1961) and talkin' bout "submarin race watching," we were all in 7th heaven!

  • I'm almost 60 years old and I've had a crush on this girl for over 4 decades. Maybe her music takes me back to simpler times. Who knows...but if she can keep this up for another 4 decades, I'll be around to listen.

  • FUCKING RUULLLE!!!!

  • I'm 19 and I have loved Lesley Gore since I saw First Wives' Club and Google-ed "You Don't Own Me" when I was 13. Then I found out it's one of my grandmother's favourite songs....pretty cool that 45 years can separate the prime of our generations and we share a fave song.

  • @LiveBreathMusic90 Concerning the 45 year difference between the generations and the fave song of each. Some of my favorite (and maybe yours too) songs are over 300 years old! Stanley Kubrick used some classics as filler soundtrack while producing "2001". Alex North was composing some new songs for that movie. After a time Kubrick liked the 300 year old classics so much that he decided to use them instead of North's creations! Good music never dies!!

  • Lesley Gore is an American Gem. Good job lesley gore

  • Lesley Is wonderful OX lesley

  • The pride of Tenafly, NJ Leslie will be 64 yrs young in May, 2010. She looks very nice in this vid from '88 She was 42 then. She could have picked a better outfit than the one that's she's wearing! It looks like Pajama's borrowed from "Nanook of The North." Not to mention the "Toe-holes sandals!!!" Oh well...it's her party, & "It's Stacy's Turn To Cry" (Stacy London that is).

  • This was my fav Gore song but this is live and the original was much better. I never liked "it's my party" or "Judys turn to cry".

  • hard to beat The Old Crowd

  • Yeah music is so bad today. Lesley Gore is not even representative of the best of the 60s. The best was so many bands could write there own music and wrote deeper meaningful lyrics though sometimes stupid lyrics can be great. It's all about the melody - Melodies got all used up in the 60s 70s and 80s .. nothing left to do but Sample. Rap sucks, hip hop sucks, Brittney sucks (really).

  • She is a star of that era , her songs still sound great . No one will care about Brittany Spears in the future will they ?

  • I have been in LOVE with her sinde 1966 when she was the beautiful girl in the world and I'm 60 years old now!!!col

  • I am a litlle younger , but still find her great

  • @gravano2 I know I wont care about spears...Now Lesley she is a true artist!!

  • @gravano2 Britney wish that should could sing like this woman even Today at 64! this lady's voice is a force to be recokoned with.

  • i LIKE ALL lESLEY Gore,s songs!!!

  • I perfer the "They Might be Giants" version of it, but thats just me.

  • Boy I did not realize that Leslie Gore has all those great hits. I wonder what she is up to today.

  • I always liked her, but it's true she's wearing her pajamas. It's like when the Enquirer says "Fire your stylist!"

  • THAT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH BEING A GREAT SINGER AS SHE IS. Can you singer better/

  • love her - but her eyes are creepy

  • I rather like her eyes. Piercing.

  • I don't think they're pajamas, theyre too nice and glitterie to ge pajamas.

  • Does it really matter?

  • Damn ! She sounds great! This song is one of my faves..

  • I agree with you.

  • @2004mojo my favourite lesley gore song to. she was in australia in about 1987 with for legends of rock and roll show at the tennis centre in melbourne

  • Holy Crab ... Amazing...what a reminder :)

  • Leslie is the best! Loved Blackshepherd09's comments. The use of the phrase "colored kid" was the phrase used during the early 60's and her comments re a "transistor radio" was on the button and a riot!

  • She looks like she's in PAIN!!!!

  • Thanks gab

  • I agree with DanD, an original would be superb. Having said that, it's a fantastic tune It's in my head from my "baby" years in the 60's. It's amazing how these things stick in your head even when you are too young to even speak.

  • if you look for Lesley Gore Maybe I Know Tami Tnt Show 1964, it's not a great quality but it is the only one I could find and great to hear again :)

  • I would love for someone to post an original version of this awesome song.

  • youtube. com/watch?v=eMN_1esR-J4

  • No doubt the slimbags at Warner or Universal are blocking the original recording. Welcome back to the USSR! Enjoy what few tidbits of music they allow.

  • i like her very much but she forgot to take her PIJAMA off...

  • great artist. take your lousy comments and go to hell!

  • Take it easy, not everyone remembers.

How about "It's my Party" loved it!!!

  • all right Lesley for holding that last note..ohhhh oooooo ohhhh ooooo.oooooooooooooooh.lol thats my girl

  • I would her to sing Thats the way boys are ..her voice sounds so lovely here. I like the way she drags out certain notes like what can i dooooo oooow. would love to here her work over thats the way boys arrrrrrrrrrrrrrre. her tone is beautiful. i was probably the only colored kid back in the 60s groovin off Lesley Gore at age about 7 or 8 back in Brooklyn NY. this reminds me of 1965 or 1966. I was just a kid but I remember Lesley on my transistor radio something kids today would laugh at. lol

  • I like it!

  • This is really nice, glad I heard this song. But I heard it covered by They Might Be Giants, its really good.

  • shes butch.but her voice will sound like a lady always

  • Didn't she just come outta of the closet????

  • she looks so old in this one, even thou it's only 80's

  • dont care she old asshat her good

  • love PIGAMMA

  • love her songs, this outfit is rank! she was definitely a female peacock wasnt she

  • leslie is an awesome singer, loved all her songs. the late 60s early 70s was certianly the time for the "best" music

  • lmfao!! OWNED!

  • A class act that Lesley Gore.

  • Great song from the '60s!!!

  • awesome as ever,

  • When I was in Vietnam I had a tremendous Crush on her. I carried a picture of her in my Helmet. I was totally in love with her. I have to smile about that now,She still did some good songs. But what the Hell....I had a crush on Dusty Springfield too. Years later....Im seeing a disturbing pattern here. Go get em Leslie...You Rock

  • @Rob113a .............me too.

  • @Rob113a Hey Rob! That's not a disturbing pattern.......carrying a picture of KIM DARBY (Maddie from the original True Grit) .........now THAT was/is disturbing! LOL

  • @Rob113a As I was reading your post, I was wondering if you knew she was a lesbian; but, then I saw your reference to Dusty as well. Made me smile. But, hey, she had/has a great voice; and, I had a crush on her back in the 60s, too.

  • very soing

  • I heard she was bankrolled with old family money. Quincy Jones attached to an unknown is a mystery but if you read Quincy's book, he dodges just why he was attached to her. Big $. Mercury was brutal with royalty rates.

  • her bankroll was her voice, moron!

and Quincy Jones "attached" himself to talented people. End of story.

  • Consider the times when criticizing the outfit. It was the 80's, and loose fitting pantsuits, as I recall, were a fad for a while. At least she's not wearing a day glow jumpsuit.

  • Don't hate! I think she probably is naturally a big girl and just wants to be comfortable onstage. She, like Dusty, is not exactly a "girly-girl", as they say nowadays. This song was recorded 25 years earlier... people change.

She is an icon-- a living legend-- i adore her.

  • work for a living? i doubt it. her father owned a large swimsuit company and made millions of dollars from sales of bikinis. so i assume she has at least a moderate-sized trust fund to pay the bills. lesley gore and her brother come from money. that's probably one of the reasons why they HAVEN'T worked all that much in the last few decades. her brother michael is know for his work on the film "Fame," but isn't know for anything else. because he hasn't DONE all that much apart from "Fame."

  • According to A&E Biography titled Lesley Gore It's Still Her Party, Lesley's father was President of a bra and girdle company, not a swimwear company as had been publicized at the time.. They haven't worked? Lesley has been working, she has had a continuous concert schedule since the 70s. visit lesleygoredotcom for schedule. Her money earned in the 60s went into a trust fund.

  • Please, somebody post a 60`s video of one of the greatest pop songs of the 60`s.God,the feminists of today would crucify anyone singing this today.

  • not when the same singer also hit with "You Don't Own Me" and "Don't Call Me, I'll Call You" - very progressive lyrics for their time if you listen to them

  • Drool Much?

Tonesville wrote "God,the feminists of today would crucify anyone singing this today."

Ummmmmm .... dumbass ...... as a feminist, I have been singing this song all fricking day.

Why do you HATE intelligent women?

  • That`s a bit harsh,I don`t hate intelligent women, even if they have hairy armpits, you need to chill out.Get your girlfriend to buy you a new strap on fer Xmas.Cheers.

  • Great tune written be Jeff Barry and Ellie Greenwich from Lesley's 1964 album Girl Talk!

  • I love Lesley, her songs, and her voice, but why is she wearing pajamas?

  • She really jazzes this up from the original! She is really great! Love her voice and she has really nice eyes! Love ya Lesley!

  • lesley thank you for so many songs that I look back on with great thoughts of my youth. your a stand out oldie vocalist but when you came out it ruined alot because those songs were a lie. p.s. I will still listen but just wont be the same.

  • they were a "lie" because she wasn't interested in members of the opposite gender. but a singer is a kind of actor or actress, attempting to dramatize situations that he or she may not have experienced in real life. we shouldn't necessarily associate the lyric of a song with the life of the person who's singing it.

  • Great song and very well performed. That outfit, though, looks like Lou Costello's work clothes.

  • this is actually one of my favorite Leslie Gore tunes, it's just infectious as hell, go Leslie go

  • It's somewhat strange that I was turned on to this song by They Might Be Giants' cover. It doesn't matter - this is one of the best early rock songs. It's not actually rock, but it definitely incorporates aspects of it...

  • her voice sounds better than in 60's!

  • Im 28 years old, Lesley was wayyyy before my time, but seein the old stuff and then the new She's still got it.......I wonder if Lesley looks at this stuff, anybody know??

If she does....Lesley You were awesome then, and you are awesome now...To hell with Britney and J-LO hehe

    Love you Lesley

  • go leslie love your style of music you brought alot to da table back then and still do now. U have a great voice then and still do now u sound great. U go girl. I love this catchy song from its one of my fav rock on girl =) u r truly a treasure love it much respects =)

  • go leslie i loved you then and loveyou now your a re the best..and still sound very god amazing control i have alys loved your voice..and your cool as well

  • love the song and Leslie but where is her dress sense?

  • Lesley has recorded a few Christmas songs, If Every Night Were Christmas Eve; Winter Wonderland; Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas; Jingle Bell Rock; and My Christmas Party. All awesome songs!

  • She's still got it and it's live.

  • Yes, Lesley's still got it! See her on tour promoting her new album Ever Since. She mixes the new songs with her classics of the 60s. She really rocks!

  • I was a Leslie Gore fan from the first time she appeared on the Ed Sullivan show, and still have her old songs on a CD now. This clip is great to watch just to see her enjoying herself, but she really has lost the beautiful unique voice that I loved from her. But that's okay, she's got the heart. If you've never had a chance to hear the original song as recorded, please try to find it, it's one of her best :)

  • Lets here it for Leslie Gore. She was OUT be4 it was cool. And thats REALLY COOL!!! I Wonder if anyone can post her song IMMORTALITY ?

  • Try looking at Pat Swayne's Lesley Gore site. Tons of information there, as well as some rare recordings.

  • I love Lesley Gore....love the song. But why did she wear her pajamas?

  • She's still got it!! Go Lesley Go!!

  • My fave tune of hers too! Now if she only had her original "flip" haircut...

  • lol gotta love that rockin' flip!

  • I've always loved this song. She doesn't look all that fat to me. I think it's the shoulder pads (this is in the 80's, after all. Give her a break. We can't all be super models.

  • Lesley does a rockin' version of this in concert. Currently on tour promoting her 2005 album release titled Ever Since. She looks and sounds superb!

  • Love this song :)

  • Since this is 1988--I wonder what Lesley is doing now.

  • She is stil on the road and singing well!!!!

  • OMG ! Its Ellen Degeneres' mother

  • ha ha good one

  • i got one better... think catwoman's sidekick!!!

  • Wow did she ever get FAT!! When was this filmed?? It is her best song though.

  • its 1988. she has the same face, just got fat

  • Tracy Ullman, eat your heart out.

  • she didnt lose her touch .
