whats the pressure like down there ??
why does it not crush all these ROV's ??
lfilipem 6 months ago
@lfilipem most of the parts are filled with water...so there is no difference in pressure. Electronic and cams are housed in tungstencarbide

try 7m sharks unchanged by evolution since the dinosaur ages. they're scavengers, though.

what type of fish would you find down there ?
THEJAYMAN212 7 months ago
@THEJAYMAN212 Mostly very flat fish I imagine, due to the pressure.

@Helge129 imagen being down there it would be so calming
@THEJAYMAN212 And very squishing too, because you would have houndrets if not thousands of tons pressing down on you.
@Helge129 do you think anything big could live down there that could wit stand the pressure
@THEJAYMAN212 Tube-worms apparently can, and they are 2m+ in size. But I don't remember any other big creatures that live down there.
@Helge129 lol ONLY single cellular organisms live down there ! They're called foraminifera

.. what would happen if we nuke that trench?
EdTheBadass 10 months ago
@EdTheBadass huge tsunami maybe? or maybe because of the pressure, it may not really be felt all the way up. i'm not sure..

I would probably fall in with a bigger diameter, making a nice crater, rather than a hole.

I've often wondered how deep that mud is altogether, as it has 'snowed' down for so many years?
