Great cooler for its price.

I've got a 945 @3.0 which - with the previous cooler (a huge horizontal one) - reached 60-62oC under full continuous load (during summer).

With this one, at the same room temperature, under full continuous load it's between 38-40oC.

While the CPU is idle the difference is small (~5oC) but the CPU is much cooler anyway.

Hey PCWizKid, can you or someone else please respond to this. What are the two programs you are using besides CPUz? The first display the fan speeds and temperatures and the other has the CPU temp at the bottom and Freq. #0-#3 and says 100% load (I am guessing for a stress test). What are these two programs called? I use SpeedFan but would like to see what else is out there. Thanks!

Just received and installed after seeing this review. I am running it on a secondary machine I have that has a AMD Athlon II 635. Stock cooler was min 45c and max 62c. With the EverCool Buffalo, that went to min 30c and max 48c with prime 95.

lol im using the OE cooler from amd (running a phenom II X4 955 BE) and it gets up to 63C idle. 70C full load. (No overclocking)

@NudeNuke A better software for Pc Temperature's is 'Speedfan'

After download it's very simple to use, Go on Exotics> and then 'Show the magic', It tells you ur fan speeds RPM, and Gpu temps, to Psu temps, Hd0 everything. ;)

i've got my phenom 2 x2 550 unlocked to 4 cores and oc'd to 4ghz stable idling at under 28 celsius and load under 45 celsius, with this cooler. it's a great cooler. i got it for like 16 bucks with free shipping and no tax.

@HybridPineapple Not all dual cores work like that. When AMD makes an X4 and it has a damaged core, they disable that and sell it as an X3. If it has 2 damaged cores they disable both and sell it as an X2. Sometimes there is a really high demand for X3's and X2's so AMD will disable 1 or 2 cores on a perfectly good X4 to meet the demand. I believe If you are lucky, you got one of those CPU's and with a different bios or something, you can unlock the cores.

@psychoclown420 also, Athlon II x2 use the regor core, wich is a native dual core that doesnt have L3 cache, so you cant unlock it to quad core, I think you can do that with Athlon II x3's though,

The phenom 2 x2 550, as well as the x3 700 series processors are manufactured as quad cores. the processors that did not pass a certain quality control test (say 1 core didn't past a temperature management test) the one defective core would be disabled, and the processor would be sold as a triple core. With certain motherboards with sb710 or sb750 south bridge, you can enable ACC in the bios, and with luck a blocked core can be unlocked. sometimes they can't and are unstable
