The B version is just to satisfy the S/VTOL capability requirements of the USMC. Only a small fraction of F-35s will be this way. Praise to the USAF, USN, and USMC for developing one common airplane one of the only times since the dawn of military aviation. The cost-efficiency for development and maintenance is very commendable.
Beautiful... still not a fan of the lift fan system (takes up a lot of space inside the airframe, and can't be used in combat), but the program seems to be moving forward quite well.

no its not, it just hinders the planes ability to fly. the f-22 is ten times better than the f-35
