No cabe dudad.
This is really really good stuff!! Seems like EVERY tenor is compared to Pavarotti whether they actually have Pavarottian squillo, timbre, and color or not. Frankly the tenor that I hear him closest to vocally in color and timbre is Jose Carreras.
There will never b a NEW Pavarotti.,... any singer is just a singer when compared to Pava. Pavarotti is amazing!!! Let's talk about new singers without comparing them to Pava =)
Excelent voice great technique very different from other tenors this the kinda voice a like more masculine sound Pavarottis is good but really Juan Diego Flowers voice doesn't really attract me.
This is really good stuff. No, it's not Pavarotti, but who is? Give him a chance. The world needs more than just a handful of singers who cost $10,000 dollars per performance
This is in response to several emails I received. Cesar's top notes are super. His middlde voice is good but not great.....he is a good tenor but he is not inb league with the masters such as Pavarotti.......
agree with some of the comments as clear clarity seems to be his strengh top notes are piercing but i dont think he suffers for it i think he will get better with age
Firstly, there is no question that the best strenght of this singer is his piercing top notes....this not withstanding, the voice is not well balanced, that is to say to say that the middle voice has no connectgion to the top voice...ity is as if two people were singing...compare this to Pavarotti the master...who had the perfectly balanced voice.....not bad though...for a mortal!
I agree with you that Pavarotti was the master in terms of balancing his voice but the truth is that he used a very open placement in his comfortable register. He could afford because he was Pavarotti. He was always impressed by the open diction of late Di Steffano. Nowadays, nobody would make a career singing like that. The opera world now insists in more covered even from italian singers and this tenors offers that. This tenor has the voice, the "ring" and the presence required to succeed.
This is much, much better than his "Che gelida manima" also on youtube. To me his voice sounds like a strong light voice. He could use some more warmth and style. Interesting performance
Interesting? His voice is really amazing. He's got the power of a Heroic tenor and the clarity of a light tenor, which seems to be a peculiarity of most outstantind Latinamerican tenors. Congratulations! You have a very promissing singer's carreer ahead.
Too much belting.

He should not be singing this rep as his voice is too heavy and his technique does not allow him to sing anything lighter than a forte.
PastaAndPavarotti 4 years ago
no way his voice is heavy, on the contrary.
He is light and heroic, I don't think you like his high c's like some people, but he is extraordinary.
