clay can also blister when it's over baked... learned the hard way, it got brown and bubbles started forming on the surface, not pretty!

ooh sorry wrong instructions first get a bowl or glass put water in then put ur clay creation into the bowl/glass now put the glass /bowl close to the heat then put in for 1 minute now that its done pour the water out make sure ur creation is not poured out wait to dry dont squish or firmly grip gently pick it up on to a dry surface dont try to dry them with towel ty hoped this helped so now u can harden them in 1 minute :)

Hi I'm new to polymer clay.. I have made a few things but haven't baked them yet.. I don't want to individually bake them, I prefer to put in 6-8 small ones at a time.. How long do I bake them?? @linkOparkO16 you can't use modeling clay for this you need polymer clay. Polymer clay is bakeable. Modeling clay is air dry. In my opinion, polymer clay is better cuz u can have it for a long time without it drying out.

@Crystal7735 Instead of having to use your whole block of clay to make a huge charm, you can shape some foil and cover it with clay. Then, the charm will be much lighter and you will have a ton of clay left over for other things.

BTW i'm making molds by pushing objects into the (sculpey111) clay then peeling them out carefully, also i am pouring molten silver into the mold so i really wanna make sure they are fully hardened because obviously silver is more valuable then say silicon or resin, also i used basic grey colored clay and after 15mins it looks no different?

how can you tell when they are done? it doesn't seem to change color or even tint? do they need to sit after oven to harden? so i guess 15mins at 270degrees? thanks

@ylesfitz8839 You can't really tell when they are done by looking at them. You'll know if they're over-done, though, because they would burn // get darker. And, after baking, they won't be hard until they are completely cool.
