  • This is my fifth time of reading 19 Minutes, and I can really relate to the character of Peter, even though I'm a girl, because I know what it's like to be picked on from an early age, and to watch someone you like join the "popular" crowd, I live in a small town, so the people in my secondary school are also the people I was in primary school with, and they're also the people I'm going to college with. I'm reading this book for a 5th time, simply because she portrays high school so well!

  • i love jodi picoult's books!!! i absolutely loved peter so much, even though i read the back of the book i wanted to hate him, but he is so beautifully written about.

  • it was weird for me because it was like i wanted to hate Peter for killing all those people, but then again it was like i couldn't because of everything he went through

  • I agree, so much with her opinions on cliques.

This book was so honest and REAL

  • i kno rite

i felt like i was a part of the story and i felt so heopless when the popular ppl did all those horrible things to poor peter

  • I also vehemently agree w/ what she said at the end. As long as you have real friends like you, high school will be very enjoyable.

  • As a 15-year-old high school student and all-around nerd, I like cliques. People stick in their cliques so hard that they don't bother leaving to bully people.

  • What I love about Jodi Picoult's books is that they are SO real. Some authors just can't get the teenage thoughts right. As a 15 year old reader, I find the exact thoughts going through my head. She gets the dialogue and everything perfectly. It's not corny or cliche or anything. She gets everything right, and that's why she's my favorite author.

  • Never have I been more moved by a book then 'Nineteen Minutes'. I just finished the book today. I started it Sunday and just couldn't put it down. I can't tell you how many times I cried over the character of Peter Houghton. The things he went through is unbelievable. And to think that people actually go through this torment and pain on a daily basis. I think this book should be read in high schools and should be a major motion picture. People need to realize the seriousness of bullying.

  • this is amazing, i have just finished reading the book and was baught to tears. then i statred to search and i found this, and it has been extreamly helpful, as a tranee teacher the issue of bullying is oftern overlooked but i feel it is still an issue. This discussion and the book has been so impacting on me.

    thankyou

  • SHE IS AMAZING! her books totally draw me in!
