  • this is super cool, but i just found this kewl thing that you should see kinda the same thing,,

  • is the apple logo different material from a macbook and the pro

  • @1232610 fuck u fanboy

  • i have an easy solution just use sharpy to draw the zebra stripes

  • why can't you just buy some stickers, highly recommend checking out SkinStyler, they make protection and fashion for any kind of macbook and they only cost $5

  • No offence but this 'mod' is rubbish. You see nothing, since you need to sand the filter it is transparrent. This so you can actually see the custom design you applied. Look for aan iColours site from Canada. There you can see a proper mod tutorial.

  • I wouldn't trust my 15" i7 pro with a credit card, I mean cmon, spent my life on it!

  • @chriswtburke

    haw haw

  • @v4lkyr thats quite the dick response... thankfully.. it's back to working..

  • does it work with the iBook g4

  • Won't this void your warranty.....? XD

  • oh and tell will know cause u posted this video lol.

  • Your supposed to sand the apple logo.

  • would this work on a macbook october 2009 model? the newest one? that's what i have and i'm kind of iffie whether i should do it yet.

  • Cool ura lefty

  • Wobbly Screen :S

  • lotta work to change a logo that U cant even see unless it's closed

  • good video.

btw... not to be personal or anything.. just wondering

  • How is the Apple logo held in place? Glue?

  • I just used some clear tape.

  • @iMacArLy hey i done this to my macbook, and i scraped the white bit off the front of the macbook book logo, but whilst doing it i put some light scratches on the clear plastic... do you know what i can do or use to get rid of the scratches??

  • I will do this ... in 2 years when my Apple Care is out

  • i guess the best way is to stick it on the outside of the computer.

tutorial explaining how to remove it...........send me the link or anything

    helpfull pleeeeeeease :)

  • .................. i love your sticker<333333

  • haha you already voided your warranty by opening that up

there are things on there that are supposed to become loose or like snap off or someting that tell apple that you opened it haha

my uncle works at apple and i asked if it okay to do this and he said no because im still under warranty

  • why?

  • @jonsutubechannel when u remove the white label inside the comp , it will void your apple warrantee but it looks really good...

  • LED screen Carly.

  • Carly. What made you switch to Mac?

  • Maybe you should ask smart people. or CNET or Best Buy or Walt Mossberg, or a college student, or Bill Gates, or...

  • Try one for yourself to see why.

  • nice mod

  • Pretty neat!

  • ouch, it hurts!

  • can you just put a clear piece of plastic with coloring instead of using an insert from icolours?

  • thanks, i already was wondering how

  • how old is that macbook :O

  • like not htat old they made 2 generations of this white one i have the 1st one its just a regular basic macbook.

  • Great video! Well done imacarly :D ur videos are always amazing :)

  • i love these types of videos! great job imacarly

  • Great vid !

    But i have a MBP unibody ....

  • I wish I could do that with my unibody MBP ;)

  • if you love it already and I know alot of you love apple for there design why add all this other mumbo jumbo to it

  • Doesn't this void your warranty?

  • You were very brave to try that. My sister would never trust me enough to let me pry open her MacBook, lol.

  • Heh. I'd rather stay with how it came out of the box. :P I

  • great video! very cool

  • Just keep the Mac looking simple, why add all this colorful stuff to the logo LOL.

  • I would never do this to my MacBook Pro 15" Unibody. Resell value will drop.

  • u cant!

  • well if apple ever is on youtube then i think they know now that you opened this macbook lol

  • Nice thats cool!

  • Cool video. I would do something like this if I had that model. Thanks for showing us how to.

  • i wish i could do it but i dont want to do anything wrong

  • Nice but I am not risking my $2,000 computer

LOL, you may be able to get away with it. I doubt it

  • wow, i would NEVER do this to my 3000 dollar computer. Not worth the risk...

  • That is a pretty badass way to void your warranty ; )

I'll be watching in HD later :D

  • I wish i could do this for my 13 inch macbook pro but it is not supported.

  • or you can just buy the sticker

  • LMAO @ "apple probably wont know", as a sister of a mac genius, he knows EVERYTIME someone has modded or opened their mac...i would only recommend doing this on an old macbook out of warranty or apple care because apple engineers DO know ok

  • Comment removed

  • funny how you obviously have no idea how apple works, mac genius's are engineers they are the ones who take apart your macs/ipods/iphones etc and fix them they do not get shipped anywhere they are the ones who fix them...if you have had bad experiences with genius's that doesn't stop the fact that they are in fact engineers...

of course there are going to be idiot genius's as they are humans, still doesn't change what i said

  • Comment removed

  • oh and my brother is an engineer

  • yes my brother does have an engineering degree, and before he worked at apple he built his own pcs and made them for others so your talking complete crap, you obviously have no idea what you are talking about, i am of course talking about my brother, i am not defending idiot genius's who haven't a clue what they are doing, don't paint everyone with the same brush..and saying they only know apple products LMAO just shows what you know, to become a genius they HAVE to have knowledge of pcs.

  • yeah well your brothers an exception because most geniuses dont have degrees and are sent to cupertino california to learn apple products, I am 100% sure that I know what I am talking about yeah they have to know how to install itunes on a pc is not knowledge of the windows infrastructure

  • you are just generalising about a 1000's of people around the world, unless you have visited every single apple store and met every single genius you cannot say what you are saying, i am from the UK my brother works at the flagship store here in regent st, he had 5 intensive exhaustive interviews before he became a specialist,THEN he had weeks of training about OSX then he became a genius, he knows about the windows infrastructure...im not going to continue arguing about this point

  • your sister must be very trusting, good to see a girl who knows what shes on about

  • Nice job i looks good =)

  • hi..

  • Wow, that is pretty cool, im actually tempted to do it on the MBP with the old school apple logo now haha.

  • awesome video. liked to see a macbook getting taken apart

  • U got the biggest balls to do that. I'd never.

  • Awesome job. A lot of times when people say "mod" they mean "accessory", but taking the case apart is definitely the real deal. I think this just convinced me to go buy a refurb Macbook and try it myself.

  • so it doesnt' have to be from the website. can we just take those transparent color paper and just place it on?

  • Nice tutorial, you are both clever and daring.

  • You can also do a lcd mod to the macbook where it involves placing a usb lcd screen in between the screen and the plastic backing it bows a little but it's phat! I think you can pick up the usb screen's for about $40 us! google it!

  • carly u are sexy!

  • Wow! That's really cool!
